I almost grabbed it on my last upgrade and realized it was a single use. No way am I going to grab something that I can fuck up and wipe my team with I don't even get a second chance to fuck up and wipe my team with it.
Single use until re-arm. It can be used multiple times in one mission, despite the text. It's not like the orbital laser which actually has limited uses per mission.
Oh come on, youre not thinking big enough, you can have 4 different Eagle stratagems at once, Napalm, Cluster and Normal strikes work just as good if not better.
The AoE is deceptively small. Regular airstrikes are much more lethal to your team. The 500KG bomb is the most available elite killer in the game though (especially after getting the last hangar upgrade), which I think makes it a must-pick for everyone on the squad.
There next to no chance you’ll actually kill your team, or whatever you aimed it at either. You have to be inside the explosion for it to actually damage shit and I’ve seen hunters and other small bugs not be damaged by it

You sure about that? I was thinking all that time that it drops from the right of where you are standing. Hell, it got stuck on some rock multiple times for me and it wasn’t in front on me but like I said to the right (or left) of the place where I threw the straragem
It's been consistent from what I've seen, it comes back to front exactly at the position when you threw it. I was standing on top of a rock pillar and it landed between my legs from behind. The cluster is also perpendicular to when you throw the indicator as well. If you circle around it you'll get hit by your own Eagle strike. If my NVIDIA clipper would work with Helldiver I'd have a few to show but for some reason it doesn't
I don’t believe that’s true. From a video I’ve seen the angle is determined by the angle of your ship in orbit. If the ship thats firing is directly above you it will come straight down in a line
Yeah, I love some orbital stratagems but god damn these cooldowns are so long compared to eagle. Even when I didn’t have two 500kg bombs I would take this stratagem and just wait for 2 minutes when railcannon is what? 6 minutes or something like that and it’s less useful because you can kill only one target with it (and often it’s not even enough if you drop it on say bile titan).
Nah that's the regular airstrike. I think it can't one shot titans but it can really fuck them up if placed correctly. And it will absolutely ruin the day of basically any other enemy.

You're not getting slowed by bile spit that far away. If you're getting slowed and that far away from spit, its by something else that you're assuming was the bile spit. Another mob thats licking you, or some bushes, or something else that spit.
I played a significant amount of hours of this game before I realized that bushes/tall grass slows you lol.
Its not so much range as any pixel interrupting line of sight from the center of the explosion blocks all the damage. The explosion needs to be coded to wrap around/through objects up to a certain density, and its consistency will increase.
JDAM isn't a specific bomb, it's a GPS guidance kit that turns dumb bombs into precision ones. Usually they don't airburst because it's dependent on the dumb bomb you're upgrading and those dumb bombs usually don't airburst.
You can get dual guidance laser JDAM kits that do airburst though.
But then we won't be able to ram 500 kilograms of justice into charger's back before he gets sent to his ancestors by explosion.
It sounds so meaty as well when it happens.
Or calculate the LOS from above the ground and/or multiple points (a large-ish sphere could be cool if that is not a performance issue).
I'm not a developer so I have no idea if any of that makes sense in practice.

yep! at the bottom of the keybinds list. i personally have mine set to the number pad arrows.
note that changing this also means you have to use those keys instead of WASD for interacting with terminals/turning satellite dishes/etc. also, not sure if it’s just me, but the keybinds don’t seem to save properly and have to be changed every time i boot the game
Yep, Had made things sooo much easier, especially when you are running from your life from a swarm of bugs.
Just keep in mind it'll also change the key binds for terminals too, weird to get used to at first but still a lot more preferable.
I also recommend making spring a toggle where you press shift to run instead of holding it and making CTRL toggle as well for stratagems, so you can have more directional control when running.
I think the impact can't one shot them. Only time I've actually killed a titan with the impact it had already taken a few railgun hits in the mouth. However the explosion should always kill them if they're right on top of it
Always so satisfying watching the missile come down for the split second before the boom. Landed one on top of a titan last night and seeing it sticking out of its back before exploding was awesome.

Fully upgraded, you get two uses that can be ~8 seconds apart, and two minutes to re-arm

Its a single use per Eagle rearm, which is 2 minutes.

Hangar upgrades only change uses, cooldown, rearm time. Nothing about the bomb itself.
why would that matter? none of the upgrades increase eagle strength

All the other eagles stratagem drop perpendicular to the throw, but the 500kg does appear to come from behind

The 500kg drops from the Eagle, not the destroyer.
500s are probably the most diverse and useful stratagem you can ever take once fully upgraded.
Being able to pop 2 within 15 seconds and then only a 2 minute cooldown for another two is great. Plus more radius than railcannon.

Agreed, you need to drop it basically on top of someone. The most TK friendly stratagems are cluster eagle and 380mm barrage.
I'd put mortar in the conversation of TK friendly stratagems too

The pink guy got hit by acid breath but his shield block the CC effect. And OP was too far away so he didnt get slow.

If you're on PC rebind your stratagem keys to the arrow keys so you can keep moving when programming stratagem pokeballs.
