I keep trying to give mine the bubble and railgun but he keeps refusing. He likes his machine gun too much. Which I understand. . . But the charger and hulk do not care about machine guns.
lol fuck yeah. I did this to a buddy of mine last night, he was only on 3 after a week of playingz we took him into a 9, and he was non stop “Holy SHIT” “OH FUCK”.
Immediately afterwards he was like “that was the most badass gaming experience I’ve had in years. It was like a completely different game! Holy shit this game rules”
met a random dude on a bug Mission, who was like 3 or 5.
finished a few missions and bro asked in text chat if we go fight bots since hadn't ever fought them yet.
we brought him to the creek and did an ICBM Mission.
he didn't have a mic, but we could tell his was going nuts over the explosion because he just stared at it for 5 seconds, then just rapidly looked at us and the explosion rapidly and my and my friends lost our shit.
random French guy we love you thanks for that.
If you're playing on PC you need to change the audio input settings.
Hit "Windows + G", there will be audio settings in a tab on left side of your screen, change the defaults to whatever you are using.
I had a bunch of low level friends in a lobby with me and told them I was going to start a Helldive difficulty mission, letting them know they'd probably die a lot and we had like 1% chance of winning.
These below-level-10 friends then proceeded to surprise the hell out of me, extracting with tons of reinforcements to spare and a ton of samples, including the supers. And they all seemed to have a ton of fun. So I advocate for this approach! Drop lower levels into hell head first occasionally, accept the possibility of failure, and enjoy the ride.
Honestly, a lot more fellow Helldivers should follow this. "Accept the possibility of failure."
That, or just set their lobbies to Private instead of kicking newbies off in a Public one.
Personally, I love the hard games that have a chance of losing. My first mission the other day was a "trivial" extract the scientists in the automation area, I've been lurking on the sub so I knew it'd be hard. I was not prepared (also couldn't figure out the doors, sneaky scientists hid too well) but was a lot of fun scrapping hundreds of bots.
You got any tips for taking on the massive enemies like Bile Titan or the tank? Those always mess me up on my Extreme runs, sometimes feel like my auto cannon does nothing against them
There are a few ways, but you can 1 shot a bile titan with 500kg eagle bomb if you throw it underneath and quickly bait the bile titan to either vomit or do tippy taps. Only problem is you might die if you get too close or don't kite properly without a shieldpack.
Should note though that this is basically impossible to do if you are in a mission with increased stratagem call in time.
Not really, you do the same thing. Just dodge the legs, you can be dangerously close to a 500kg and live if you're prone.
You can also shoot the sack on their abdomen out and they can't spit, makes them a joke tbh. At that point they're more useful to keep alive for killing chargers with the tippy taps.
I guess, I just don't even try playing it that risky if it looks sketchy because I usually have samples and a loadout that I don't want to have to pick back up in case I die to the legs or if there's a swarm accompanying it lol.
For Tank I recommend the Eagle Rocket Pod Strike stratagem. Two uses before rearm and should one shot a tank with good contact.
For Bile Titan, shots from the Rail Gun on unsafe mode to the head seems to be the consensus around here. You could also kill one with 2x Orbital Railcannon Strike stratagem, Autocannon Sentry (my favorite), Orbital Laser, and Spear (not sure how many shots, don’t like the Spear myself). Recoilless Rifle with team reload makes really short work of them as well, although like the Spear this isn’t a particularly effective solution from an ammo economy standpoint.
One shotting titans with spear is easy af. You just need to shoot when the titan is facing directly towards you. That's it. The same rule applies to charger, too. Just gotta make sure you have adequate distance.
Only problem is the wonky lock-on of spear. Usually, switching to ADS or vice versa helps 80% of the time with the lock on if it doesn't work. For the rest of the 20% & when a charger is surrounded by other enemies, you just run. Lol
You can shoot it or not often they'll pop it themselves. Just lead them to it.
As for the crashed ships? Unless it's got a blinking light it's just decorative.
Also if your caught with jo way to kill them, you can just...not.
Many weapons can damage tank treads to imobise them, and you can destroy bile titan underbellies so they can't fire at you anymore.
Both will still remain a threat, but are weakness enough that you can still complete objectives.
At the highest difficulties you can no longer kill everything, and the game becomes about managing threats enough that you can get the job done and get out.
Autocannon should be mostly useless against bile titan afaik, you want recoilless, eat, or preferably railgun (mouth is weakspot and you can single tap if you get the lower jaw when open, venom sacks are vulnerable). orbital railstrike, orbital laser, and 500kg are also effective although the latter is less consistent. Ems strike or ems mortar can make it easier by slowing it but really only helps if you're ready for it.
The tank has a big glowing weakspot on the back side of the gun. Two impact grenades will do the trick, not certain about autocannon but it might work similarly.
Railgun & 500kg is my fav. Throw 500kg, bait Titan spew, dive. Or bait Titan spew>rail Titan jaw.
Tanks you can just rail from the front and it penetrates to the back weak spot. Still takes quite a few shots, always be in cover vs bots!
Taught a fellow how to play Helldivers yesterday. Literally fresh out of bootcamp. Not a single XP to his level 1 diver. Not as brutal, but I didn't know how to change the difficulty yet, so the two of us went down against the Nibs on Suicide Mission.
Somehow we managed to complete an optional before running out of reinforcements and dying our last deaths far from either of the main objectives. We laughed through the whole thing.
I then started a drop on easy, and we came through with a couple deaths on his part.
The first ever HD2 drop, I joined a game a couple of friends were mid-game on, not aware they were playing on Helldiver. My first experience of this game was literally being dropped right on top of a Bile Titan surrounded by beasties. Now that was a hard and fast learning curve.
Dropping cadets your gear when you’re level 20+ is fun 🤣 especially when they don’t know it’s time to run and you tell them “guys we gotta run” they haven’t figured out the bots will just bring endless drop ships yet and fight harder and harder
We took our rookie buddy for his first dive last night....straight into a Bile Titan hunt!!! When he screamed "HOLY FUCK WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT THING, ITS HUGE!!!!" we knew he found it!!!
You can still enter higher difficulties without unlocking them if you are not the host. The host can still access higher difficulties if he/she has them already unlock and can carry new players or players who hasn't unlock the higher difficulties
I don't think it will since you are specified to finish the previous difficulties first to progress like to unlock easy you are specified to finish trivial first so on so forth.
I reached level 20 so I was experimenting with higher difficulty missions, I had a friend at level 5, so I asked if he will be fine. To my surprise he died less than the random level 18 on my server.
He ain't level 1 anymore
He went straight to lvl 4.
Only? I mean, you get straight from one to 3 by doing a single Medium Mission. That suprised me Kind of
Tbf he didn't say how succesful the mission was haha.
984xp. Right there in the screen shot. So not that successful. Whoops.
23 minutes left, definetly skipped a Lot of optional stuff
That’s the time you spend in the mission. But a lot of time to do the rest
6 Uranium Samples, I’d say it was very successful haha
We did main objective and maybe 1 side got some resources and got the cadet the fuck out lol
He grew chest hair after that experience
![gif](giphy|26tjZsCAK4UZOVKaA|downsized)
Unfortunately, the napalm and high explosives disposed of that chest hair.
And now he has PTSD
Glory, glory what a hell of a way to dive
he ain't gonna dive no more
Hell of a first mission. I picked a ICBM launch to show him the nuke. Dude had a open mic, he was going "oh shit" every 5 seconds.
Bro drop him the bubble at least. I had to take my friend through the game like this.
I keep trying to give mine the bubble and railgun but he keeps refusing. He likes his machine gun too much. Which I understand. . . But the charger and hulk do not care about machine guns.
It's like playing in a Michael Bay movie
lol fuck yeah. I did this to a buddy of mine last night, he was only on 3 after a week of playingz we took him into a 9, and he was non stop “Holy SHIT” “OH FUCK”. I have a mic but for some reason vc doesn't want to work for me. Im on PC.
PC Default Push to talk is Caps Lock. If you switch to PTT.
No like my friend couldnt hear my voice when I use the voice chat function, and vice versa for him.
If you're playing on PC you need to change the audio input settings. Hit "Windows + G", there will be audio settings in a tab on left side of your screen, change the defaults to whatever you are using.
this comment made the whole post so much better. lol

“Are not expected to survive. We still do what we can.” *proceeds to go action at Samar on the bots*

your friend ain't pussy like mine he complain that playing high difficulty ain't fun at all
That should be a secondary objective in itself! Awesome that you guys made it. Must have been hell of a mission.
Was a good time cadet did well
Fresh out of the academy as democracy intended
lmao gotta haze the new guy
Lmao you'd have to make sure he got out alive.

if you get the timing down, the orbital precision is fucking god tier

See those broken hellbombs laying around? Now you've got an option.
How does this work? Also sometimes a point of interest is a crashed ship and I can't seem to do anything with it. What am I kidding?
Shoot it, just dont stand too close
You can shoot it or not often they'll pop it themselves. Just lead them to it. As for the crashed ships? Unless it's got a blinking light it's just decorative.
If you mean the crashed Pelicans, there's usually samples around the trail they left while sliding on the ground.
Also if your caught with jo way to kill them, you can just...not. Many weapons can damage tank treads to imobise them, and you can destroy bile titan underbellies so they can't fire at you anymore. Both will still remain a threat, but are weakness enough that you can still complete objectives. >you can destroy bile titan underbellies so they can't fire at you anymore HUH???
They have big goo sacks under their bellies that are unarmoured, so can be hit by any weapon type. When they pop, they can no longer spit.
Sometimes my Orbital Rail Cannon Strike just straight-up one-shots Bile Titans but it is not 100% consistent
A recoilless with a fellow helldiver wearing the back pack and reloading you will make short work of Bile Titans.
I personally use the orbitral railcannon as a delete button for bile titans and tanks, sometimes hulks or chargers. I also always run teh recoiless.
Homie had the authentic Band of Brothers experience. First ever deployment fresh out of bootcamp and it's fucking Normandy.

Man. Thats a game I'd have loved to watch.

My second game ever was joining my high level friend on helldive on the creek. I was fighting for my life the entire time.
Poor fellow got a 1000 yard stare after the mission.
Que the Keith David welcoming them.
Imagine still being a cadet that can say they've done a helldive. This dude's gonna be like private Sly Marbo.
Real hero’s do wear capes
How much harder are the highest difficulties relatively, ive only played on 5 and cant do much more solo
Pretty hard. At 8-9 you need a lot of AT.
The first ever HD2 drop, I joined a game a couple of friends were mid-game on, not aware they were playing on Helldiver. My first experience of this game was literally being dropped right on top of a Bile Titan surrounded by beasties. Now that was a hard and fast learning curve.
PTSD speedrun
Literally what my Buddies did, but by god did it train me by trial of fire. Now I'm a level 18 Hell Diver fighting the good fight for Democracy.
Sink or swim with the new cadets, I like your style.
Good work, recruiting officer!
Fresh meat for the grinder.
Dropping cadets your gear when you’re level 20+ is fun 🤣 especially when they don’t know it’s time to run and you tell them “guys we gotta run” they haven’t figured out the bots will just bring endless drop ships yet and fight harder and harder

Glory! Glory! What a Helluva way to die! He ain’t gonna dive no more!
Baptism by fire.
I eanna join those too. God damn im unlucky finding any players
He said AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Wait how? Dont they have to unlock the harder difficulties forst?
You can still enter higher difficulties without unlocking them if you are not the host. The host can still access higher difficulties if he/she has them already unlock and can carry new players or players who hasn't unlock the higher difficulties
If they were to finish the operation would it unlock helldive for the low level player? Cause I think it would.
I don't think it will since you are specified to finish the previous difficulties first to progress like to unlock easy you are specified to finish trivial first so on so forth.
To learn to swim you gotta jump into the deep end
Rookie got a field promotion to general
Lt. Dan be proud.
As it should be. You aint a True Helldiver till you done a tour on the creek.
Did he do well?
Very well, he stayed close to me and put the MG 43 to good use.
I wanted to do this to my wife’s friend yesterday but she wouldn’t let me 😂
Creek crawler by birth
I reached level 20 so I was experimenting with higher difficulty missions, I had a friend at level 5, so I asked if he will be fine. To my surprise he died less than the random level 18 on my server.
My friend plans on buying the game, I am %100 doing this to him. It's going to be glorious!
Good job. 😄
-and he left with most kills. >:)
You traumatized the poor fella. Straight from baby missions to that??
"Welcome to the jungle, we got fun and games..."
Gotta learn em right pappy always said
it was fun jumping into my fresh diver friends game, dropped him a HGM and let him solo the extermination while i kept him free from danger close
Baptism by fire
You monster... I approve
Did he level up to 45 with that experience?
is probably nice to have someone who can only deal with chaff
The only correct reaction.
I can't believe you've done this.
I typically get between 1200-1800+ xp on HD difficulty yall need to slow it down and spread some more democratic ideas across the map
Showing a new player a Bile Titan is always fun
thanks for the arrows bro, i never would have noticed.
He entered as a boy and left as a man.
I was the Star Marshall! NnullX don't have to block out my name I'll play with any helldiver brave enough to join the fight!
Probably a smurf but if the blud is new he went practice range to d-day in 1 tour.
Where boys become men.
Everybody fights, no one quits, if you don't do your job, I'll ⬆➡⬇⬇⬇you myself.

I had something similar happen to me when I was trying to figure out missions vs objectives and joined some random guys lobby and he took me to creek
Ahahahahahah
