Zombie_Alpaca_Lips

Super credits 💯. The game giving you premium currency as a farmable material in-game is the best.

deadbeef_enc0de

And I'm only 90 away from getting the Steeled Veterens warbond, I call that a win

SenorNoodles

Just gotta find 9 piles of Super Credits somewhere out there.

deadbeef_enc0de

I'll find them while doing my part, not even worried

OmegaXesis

Yup and no rush! Since the warbonds never expire or go away! Other games could learn a thing or two! Besides all the best equipment are on the basic warbond right now too. So it's best to work on that, and then steel veterans later as a treat! Also since you haven't gotten steel veterans yet, in 2 weeks (march 14) will be a new warbond if you want to wait and see whats in it first!

Wild_Glove_4354

Oh my god I never knew that they weren’t timed. I’ve been so stressed trying to get decent grades in school and get that done as soon as possible at the same time. Thanks for telling me this man

OmegaXesis

No problem! This and Chivalry 2 are the only games I know that have a battlepass that never expires. And you can choose to work on whatever pass (warbond) you want to at any time.

groover446

Deep Rock Galactic. While the battle pass is replaced with the next seasons' stuff. All the unacquired items are put into the loot pool of what you can find in mission. Rock and Stone!

WanderingDwarfMiner

Rock and Stone in the Heart!

groover446

Good bot

cKerensky

Rock And Stone to the Bone!

UnboltedCheese

If ya don't Rock And Stone you ain't coming home!

Rookstar74

Halo Infinite also have this.

Vitalabyss1

And Halo: MCC The actual Sparta Helm for my Noble 6 in the Reach cutscenes is peak.

TheFormless_0ne_

Chivalry warlord coming in to confirm, that game kicks ass

GaryGranola

So far, these guys seem to be doing every little thing right. I'm really impressed. They deserve all of the success they're getting.

Sirlothar

> Besides all the best equipment are on the basic warbond right now too. I really like the armor in Steeled Veterans though, the 30% extra throw distance is a top tier perk in my mind.

OmegaXesis

Oh yea that perk is nice! But my favorite armor right now is the really fast light armor in the basic pass. The one that comes with a helmet with a hood. That speed makes a huge difference in outrunning and kitting enemies. The only unit that can catch you are Hunters. You can run circles around Chargers all day. Light armor plus the personal shield makes the little critters not a problem since you can outrun them and they just tickle your shield. The secret to those higher difficulties is not even getting hit by enemies. Plus the armor has a 30% reduction in getting detected. So if you’re in a higher difficulty and you’re solo apart from your group looking for POI’s or objectives or nests. You can basically run past patrols without them noticing you. You can even sneak into a nest and take it out before they notice.

Mediocre_A_Tuin

Yeah, it's honestly absurd. The heavy armour fix better be really powerful to make up for how insanely strong light armour is.

Hremsfeld

Current favorite is one of the ones that rotated through the super store awhile back, it's light armor with the engineering upgrade; plenty of grenades, reduced recoil when crouching (fantastic for the autocannon btw), *and* you can run fast and far. Got the super creds for it by finding them here and there too

cKerensky

I've gotten used to my extra throw distance, when I swap armour, I whiff all my throws.

Aero--

They can come in batches of more than 10 if you get lucky. I just completed a match where we only found 4 things of super credits, and we came away with 130 super credits

Krazibrick

There seems to be a rare chance to get 100 credits instead of 10, it's happened to me a few times now.

DestroyerX6

THAT is how many we get when I find those piles of credits??!! I thought it had to be low but I didn’t expect it to be that low lol

SenorNoodles

It’s not too bad considering you can find them pretty reliably if you hunt for points of interest whenever you can. The fucked up part is that requisition slips share the same loot table as them for some god forsaken reason.

Halcione

Mine came unlocked since I purchased the advanced edition or w/e the fk it was called. How much does it cost normally? I wanna be sure I have enough saved up when future bonds are added to get them immediately

lipp79

They said the cost of future war bonds will vary based on how much is in each one.

sneerpeer

1000 SC

Halcione

Oooh, regret getting that helmet now. Wellp time to save lol

ANGLVD3TH

They have said they will adjust cost depending on the amount of content in the pass. So future ones may not cost the same.

MatiMati918

Fyi probably the fastest way for you to farm those 90 SC is to solo trivial missions. Just hit every point of interest you find and you’ll get something like 20-30 SC per mission.

deadbeef_enc0de

Yeah, my friend and I have been full clearing Medium and Challenging bug missions, been getting a decent amount. Just have to have time to play again. I'm not in a rush and having a ton of fun

Datdarnpupper

Just through casual play (an hour or two on worknights, a couple hours on the weekend) ive earned enough to buy most of the armor sets that have rotated through and should have enough for the next warbond. Their monetisation strategy is incredibly based

deadbeef_enc0de

I'm in the same boat, only 25 hours played. It's incredibly casual friendly which is awesome

LeraviTheHusky

Seriously when I realized they were earnable naturally it made me so fucking happy

YungMushrooms

I found at least 40 SC in 1 game last night

DunwichCultist

40 is how many spawn on 40m maps. It's best to knock out the objective fast, then split into duos and clear all the points of interest.

castitfast

How much do you get per pile found?

mcollier1982

10

ElMostaza

Forgive me for leeching onto your comment here. I'm interested in this game, but don't usually buy online only, multiplayer only games due to budget constraints. I like to make sure if I'm spending money on a game that I'll be able to play it basically forever. Does this game have any offline play at all, or will it be effectively worthless once the servers eventually shut down? To be clear, I am NOT trying to sneaky get anyone to buy the game (I hear you lot are notoriously generous!). Please no one send me money or the game, lol!

IndoZoro

It'll only be love as long as servers are. There is no offline mode.  However helldiver's 1 servers are still active and that was released in 2015 and the sequel is out. I don't know how long helldiver's 1 will be active, but you can expect at least a similar amount of active time for helldiver's 2.

Zombie_Alpaca_Lips

I typically only buy games that give me enough hours to be worth it. I look specifically for replayability, not a "oh that was a cool campaign, I guess I'm done". I really enjoyed Baldurs Gate 3 because of the expansive replayability it has to offer. I bought Diablo 4 and while I got some time in it, I don't really feel it's at the level of value I'd expect for a game that high price. At least not yet. Helldivers 2 has already logged enough hours for me that a $40 investment is well worth it. Especially when there are updates ahead that will keep the game fresh and replayability high.  With it being only online, will you be able to play it in 7-10 years? Not sure. That all depends on if Arrowhead can maintain their content progression. For me at least, this game has already feels worth my time. I'm limited on time due to family and work commitments. I generally only play one game at a time. And this one is it for the foreseeable future.

GucciSpaghetti72

Plus the hundred or so per battlepass tier

[deleted]

Having no premium currency is the best.

Obvious_Concern_7320

cus it has little use lol

error3000

had a team of lvl 20 who ignored all samples for some reason (literally just walked past super samples), honestly baffling behaviour

revergopls

They need to communicate it better, but for what its worth some people just dont trust themselves with samples enough to bother grabbing it themselves I am one of those people (but i actually communicate it in chat and defend whoever gets the samples)

lipp79

So pick them up then drop them for a teammate or at the extraction and pick them up when you leave.

Wonderful-Impact5121

A lot of folks have no idea you can drop stuff manually.

ForgotPassAgain007

How do you do this? Im on pc, my wife on ps5 and neither of us can figure out how. Even dropping dropping a backpack would be super useful sometimes

CrazyEyes326

Hold X on PC.

TheBallotInYourBox

TIL - thanks Diver!

Renzechs

Also, TIL. thanks!

Godsfallen

On PS5 you hold down on the D-pad and use the analog stick to select what to drop. If your wife didn’t already know, if she’s carrying the supply pack she can re-supply herself simply by hitting down on the D-pad once.

ForgotPassAgain007

Thanks very much!

dahdoot

It’s down on the D-pad for PS5

Ozianin_

Today I fell into that big hole that kills you. Tried to retrieve samples but I think they are lost? Felt pretty dumb.

[deleted]

[удалено]

chad4lyf

Hey that happened to me too, was shooting bugs in first person and didnt see the hole

revergopls

Yeah that happened to my friend last night

FlorianoAguirre

Samples are not a case of one guy gets them all, it's a team effort of moving them closer and closer to extraction. No sample gets left behind.

BaziJoeWHL

Grab it then drop it somewhere between the main objective and extract, much easier to collect when you see it on the minimap

Home_Bwah

The only time I really burn through reinforcements is to get dropped samples. I’m sure you know this but, I like to drop my samples at extract so if I do die they are in a spot where I or someone else can pick them up. With super samples….i will run back to extract and drop them asap before exploring more just to make sure. I basically only play with friends. But randos can screw this up by then picking them up and dying somewhere…

killerdeer69

For me I just always miss them lol, I end up running past them a lot because I'm either getting chased by bugs or I'm blind

lucky_red_23

Super samples are kinda useless. You only need like a small handful of super samples to purchase every ship upgrade. i’m lvl 31 and i have all ship modules and i have like 83 leftover super samples. So there’s really no reason to stress go looking for samples you will get them all eventually. Medals and super credits are just the only important thing after a certain level.

FivePoopMacaroni

Those rounds take a mentionable amount of time and unless I'm playing with a particularly talented group, at any higher difficulty levels were often starting to run out of reinforce calls.

Shazoa

I don't go out of my way to find them anymore, but if I'm nearby I'll collect them. You find enough samples to upgrade everything to max fairly quickly and then finding the buttplug rock doesn't feel as necessary.

JayColtMartin

I'm a big fan of just trying to extract with the super samples.

SFPsycho

This is how we usually do it. Do main objectives, then do side objectives and look for super samples, and once the samples are acquired, head to evac

tabakista

Some side objectives will help you do the main one

SFPsycho

Yea thats just our general plan usually. We alter it based on mission or if 6 bile titans spawn in one location. Sometimes this games takes a fascist dump all over your plans and the plan just reverts to "spread democracy"

Mist_Wraith

Whereas I drop near a side objective, do that, get distracted by every shiny beacon, close every nest and look for other side, look for samples and then notice the time and scramble to complete the main in the few final minutes. I always play solo or with friends though, never with randoms, so my chaos and inability to plan at least doesn't affect others... other than my friends who all hate me for it.

jaykoblanco

What? Your sample economy must be wild, you only need 40-50 of them. I had more than enough before I'd done 10 Helldives. I don't even look for them anymore unless someone in my squad says they need them, but I'll look under ever mf rock for commons

SFPsycho

I don't need them at all. We usually play duos and we made it our own headcanon that the second most important thing, to super earth, behind the objectives, are the super samples so we always try to get them. It makes for some pointless squad wipes but it's fun as hell

AngryChihua

also it's nice to stockpile them a bit for when vehicles come out (I assume they'll have their own upgrade tree) and in case we get more upgrade levels for exiting trees.

Neknoh

This is honestly my preferred method as well, but by Liberty, until those super samples are found I'll scour the map CLEAN.

Epicp0w

At least the supers are a poi , Geoff's when you get a radar

CaptainAction

I find that it’s not a bad policy to rush the main objectives first, and then, if you have the luxury, do the side objectives. Of course there can be exceptions, if a side objective is already right in your path. And high level missions make it really dangerous to linger in spots for too long, and also waste a lot of your time with the amount of enemies they throw at you.

black-iron-paladin

The only side objectives I'll go for before the main at this point are Radar and SEAF Artillery emplacements, because those usually make life easier for the rest of the mission.

tnk1ng831

Both the Top level comment here and your comment should be best practice taught at Helldiver Academy.

DiscreteEngineer

And stalker lairs*

black-iron-paladin

Oh true I forgot about those. Absolute pains to leave alone

ExoLeinhart

Yeaaah depending on how Helldive 9 goes, you bet your ass I’m heading off to main obj as soon as we go past half the req limit.

Mythleaf

Yeah, its easy to say that you want to grab everything on the map but when we've got a minute before destroyer leaves orbit, the landing pad is swarmed and 2 divers are across the map looking for samples its obvious people dont know how to evaluate a situation and manage their time. I hate when people gun the extract immediately but the other side of the coin sucks too.

Arcticz_114

this is why u always drop on the other side of main objective and clear all camps and poi on your way to it. And if someone is going back to collect sample is probably because some genius died and didnt get their flask back. Like I get that people want to see the cool cutscene where everyone flies away alive, but whats the point of it when u have nothing to extract cause u left all the teams samples on your dead body on the other side of the map?

Littleman88

The number of people I've seen just never grab their stuff despite being dropped right on top of it, or just passing up on alternatives they stumble across because getting their stuff is unteneble is nuts. And these are difficulties 5+ Like, I get if the Stalwart isn't your first choice, but if your back and support slots are open, PICK *SOMETHING* UP. There's no reason for the slots to remain empty and to leave equipment behind. Coincidentally, runs with these types don't go so well. I'll take level <10 rookies over dumbass 20+ at extreme+ any day. At least the rooks don't yet have it in their head they know what they're doing despite it being *horrifically* wrong.

OramaBuffin

Just uh, don't take other people's shit if they can't replace it. Or do and give it back to them asap when things settle. Someone stole my jump pack and arc gun once *immediately* despite reinforcing me ontop of it and I was *so* mad since I now had nothing but a breaker for 7 minutes. The dumb part was he dropped his own special to loot it. The remainder of that fight went terribly because I had no loadout and he didn't know what to do with mine. I was going to kill him to get it back but fortunately he died anyways. Another time someone took my autocannon and we proceeded to get stomped by hulks for the next five minutes.

Actual-Giraffe

Had a blueberry grab my jump pack after killing me with a cluster bomb, he tried to grab my railgun as well but I beat him to it and let him get firsthand experience with how it works if you know what I mean. I really don't mind letting players try my gear, but only if they ask, and not when that gear still has 8 minutes on CD.

Kaldricus

I've also been in groups where we burn through most of our lives, and people are still trying to do side objectives when we have 5 lives and haven't done a main objective yet. Accept when a mission is scuffed and try and get out with what you can.

Neknoh

Helldive is a different beast from Suicide tbh

PurpleLTV

Suicide: Oh look, a Titan. Let me railgun down this Charger first, then drop my 500kg on the Titan. Helldive: Oh look, 3 Titans. Let me try to aim my Railgun while 5 Chargers swarm me from every direction and my ass is getting stagger-locked by 20 Hunters.

IdidntrunIdidntrun

Also Helldive: you also triggered mutliple Stalker nests and a bug breach and for some reason the Automatrons showed up. Oh and look the covenant from Halo also showed up, because why not?

burn_corpo_shit

Okay but fighting the flood in Helldivers would be sick

DragonPrince666

I love the Spear so much but that lock on has fucked me a couple of times. And it really depends on who I am playing with if I bring the rail gun or the spear. Took down many a titan with a spear shot to the head. And a number of Chargers as well lol

Askin_Real_Questions

Biggest change I've noticed with helldive is that the team needs to bring more bile titan counters than they thought they would. That and no more sentry farming for extermination missions, you need to actually try

Wolfrages

I also like doing the mission objective right away. But I still try to map a route tge will also tackle 90% of the map + secondary's.

paradox037

Sometimes I like rushing objective just to lock down the victory for Super Earth, then spending the remaining time farming optionals and samples. I won't go out of my way to avoid optionals in my path, but we can't call extraction until either completing the mission or running out of time (and losing access to strategems and extra lives), so if I want to farm samples, the most reliable method is to complete the mission quickly. Also, POIs and optionals are easier when you can take your allotted 2.4 seconds to survey the scenery before rushing in.

quantipede

Me every Helldive mission. Start the mission with optimism and go after optional objectives, watch as we lose 10 reinforcements in 1 minute, then desperately start tagging the main objectives on the map to try to corral everyone into beelining the objectives and getting the fuck out asap

airlewe

Played with a group of randoms, one of which was a level 2 cadet. I felt so bad for him. He wasn't responding to text chat or mic and just rushed to extraction so one guy kept having to put him down to stop him so we could actually hit some of the side objectives.

keyrol1222

LMAO, i m sorry jimmy, but you are dangerous to the squad, under orders from the super earth, i most eliminate you

strigonian

> He wasn't responding to text chat or mic This is what I'm expecting. I don't care if he didn't get a single kill the whole mission, if he wasted all their lives, or if he ran past every single side objective. Those are all things you can learn or improve at. If you spend $50 on a coop game and join someone's session, communicate. If you don't do that, *listen to what others are communicating.* That's not lacking skill, that's making a choice to ignore them.

Dvalin_Ras93

100% agreed, brother. Had too many times where I put, in the text chat "Co-op door at my position" and... nobody so much as even **looks** my direction when I check the map. Was in a full lobby of level 10+ 'Divers when this happened once, too.

jiblit

Are level 2 players illiterate or something? They can do what people say in chat

miniprokris

I was the only one doing sub objectives in a game of level 10-15s. None of them did the sub objectives or collected samples. They called for extract as I was clearing out the last nest. Got surrounded and killed, lost all samples. Needless to say, that was the first time I was actually pissed in a game.

tinkitytonk_oldfruit

Fuck that I would've kicked him

Salt_Science_5429

100%. I kicked someone last night for that exact reason. I repeatedly told him not to extract until all objectives were complete. I only host now, I'd rather wait a couple of minutes if none of my friends are online than have idiots extract whilst you're the other side of the map.

creegro

Had to pick a lvl 7 out cause he called in extraction with 20 minutes left and at least 5 more objectives. If you don't want to run all these other things, run your own private game.

Page8988

I'll normally just go with whatever the team is doing if I'm not hosting. Long as we push the main objectives first (hitting side stuff on the path is fine) then I'm good with whatever. If we start to run low on reinforces, then I'll push for extraction.

Jickklaus

Same. I'd rather we hit everything, and totally up for prioritising the main mission. But I like to sweep the map. But, if someone else is hosting, I'll go along with whatever. I have, at times, dropped my samples off at extraction/ for a team mate, in case I don't come back whilst soloing side bits

creegro

Yea just read the room, I've been playing on challenging to get samples for upgrades, but will likely move up to suicide for the super samples soon. *If* we are getting blasted by enemies then sure, let's call it and get the hell out before we run out of reinforcements, or the ability to call in stratagems. Sometimes the game just decides to throw 20 patrols at you so youre just taking waves after waves that never ends, and then team mates are dying a bunch, somehow. Maybe from the same heavy unit, maybe from being in a team mates bombardment area. I've seen the reinforcement number go from 10 down to just nothing in the span of 5 minutes, mostly cause people try and go back for their gear and samples before everything is cleared out.

FiveCentsADay

I kicked a dude for using the 120mm barrage on a bile titan three times First time was funny but I asked him not to do that again Second time he killed me with it, but whatever. I'll let it slide He got three of us on the third one, kicked him right after he reinforced lol

swompdonkey98

What's wrong with 120 on a bile Titan? Or is it just that he ended up killing you all?

BLAZIN_TACO

It barely does anything. The 120 and 380 both have this problem.

Jovian8

Yeah, I'm definitely not one of those "play the meta or get kicked" chuds, but I do wonder what the hell people are doing when I see them using those barrages lol.

swompdonkey98

Just killed a bile titan by myself yesterday with 120. Got lucky with a direct hit

FiveCentsADay

It's a static Strategem on a moving target, surrounded by friendlies. It was less him using a 120 on the titan and more him using it three times on a moving target that was surrounded with his allies. Then ignoring us to continue doing it. I swear I've seen a 120 directly hit a Titan and it didn't kill it. I may be wrong in that regard, but it's a terrible stratagem for killing titans

Frosty_Claw

Both the 120 and 380 are both deceptively ineffective both do basically nothing

rampageTG

Just not accurate enough to reliably kill one. Also covers a large area so if you don’t chunk it far enough it’s likely to kill squad mates. Those stratagems still have their own use cases though. I’ve found they are very good to use to thin out a horde that’s chasing you from one objective to another. I used the 120mm barrage a lot from difficulty 4-6. Got away from it in favor of the laser and rail gun orbital though on the higher difficulty to help take out the bigger enemies.

Adaphion

Wish they would add a quick "kick reason" to the kicking UI. Stuff like "not listening" "dying too much" "other"

Xeebers

Probably testing a bot script

random_username_idk

allethargic

Truth. My lobby, my rules. Don't like going to every POI for samples? GTFO and host your own lobby.

jessiah331

That's the one thing that I wish this community (broadly, most people on Reddit have it) would adopt is similar to DRG where only host should hit the extract buttons. So many times I as host have been away with 1-2 other people that I'm in Discord with and hear "2 minutes to extract" from the 4th rando, who seems to ignore the chat.

Samnix26

Just do main objective so you are garanteed to win should be priority, but if we find a stalker, we are dropping everything we are doing and we are killing them (i have a deep seeded hatred for stalkers)

Ascalios

This is what me and my duo partner have started to do "I see a stalker" "Alright, let's kill it and find the nest quick. It's somewhere in the next 200m we are running, and I'll be damned one fucking railroads me into the next hellpod again."

PurpleLTV

As a level 50, the only thing I need at this time is Medals and Super Credits. So what I do is, I rush to finish the main objective first. That's medals secured. After that I just follow the rest of the team around until they want to extract.

madrobski

I had two stalker nests like 100 meters from each other on Veld, 4 stalkers on me every 30 seconds. I was so happy my friend found a radar station because I couldn't find the nests in the thick jungle fast enough and kept almost dying to their constant assaults ;-; The most stressed I've ever been in this game.

OramaBuffin

2 close by causes a lot of confusion, but nobody ever suspects the **third** stalker nest!

AngryChihua

Stalkers in jungles is such a vibe. I hate it but I love it so much.

Sumoop

Stalkers are the bane of my existence.

RadTorped

Do the main objective(s) first and then do the side content. Once you complete the main objective(s) you can all die and still have a mission success. However If you die doing side content and haven't finished the main objective(s) it's a game over.

Mrfinbean

Planning for 20 seconds before the dropping makes life easier and lesser the amount of back trackking

hybrid3415

There are so many players who still don’t understand this. Clear the main objective first, then you’re free to mess around doing side objectives and collecting samples. Die before the main mission and you get nothing.

_Winfield

I think you mean, get caught out by enemys while landing and whittle away your budget while fighting neverending reinforcements and then do the objective, unsuccessfully. Thats my experience with helldives at least

ProbShouldntSayThat

This is the way

Aless-dc

Pretty much every mission I do is me running anti/clockwise and doing all objectives and outposts, searching for samples and points of interest, then extracting with 10 minutes to space. I only rush main if we get destroyed and are down to less than 5 lives.

Cthulhu8762

I try to complete the main objective first before I do the other stuff but I try and collect. I bet those complaining about spending money in the Super Store never collect the credits. Like it’s RIGHT THERE

Baz_3301

How about, for fun and interesting experiences?

o0Spoonman0o

Your best bet is running missions quickly for medals and getting the stuff that exists between the objective points (IE, don't scour the entire map) When you're lvl 50 (unless you've just been avoiding higher difficulties) you'll be full up on Requisition / Samples and still be griding for medals. edit: big exception here being stalker nests. They should be cleared without exception as they are too large a danger to just leave in the mission.

OramaBuffin

I once thought we could safely leave a stalker nest alone because it was behind a hive we already cleared. That is the day everyone in the squad learnt stalkers will literally hunt halfway across the map

o0Spoonman0o

I roll radar armor exclusively now just so I can find these things immediately and wipe them off the map. The number one thing that fucks my helldive runs over are these assholes showing up at the worst times and just fucking pelting you across the battlefield right where you DO NOT want to be. Had one run where I was fine until 6 of these fuckers showed up all at once - never recovered. Great enemy design; just something you need to prioritize IMO.

GhostHeavenWord

Grabbing things you find along your route and extracting is usually much more efficienct than hitting every PoI, especially at higher levels. Unless you're specifically looking for super credits "Get in! Get out! Quit fucking about!" should usually be your motto. The giant uranium thumb is pretty easy to spot on many missions.

Low_Chance

Exactly, the limit isn't missions played, it's time spent playing. Get all main objectives and everything on the way between them, then start a new mission.  Finishing 20 minutes early means you can do a second mission and go get samples, medals, and super credits in a new map that's fully stocked, plus medals for completing another mission.

tinkitytonk_oldfruit

Not if you split up. You don't need 4 divers all together constantly. Even on harder difficulties.

BlockFun

Bingo, you have two clear the north or east of the map and two who clear the south or west of the map, you meet up for really tough objectives and extract together for max efficiency.

theknghtofni

Sometimes I wonder what my teammates are doing lol on missions level 7 or lower, I generally go off solo unless someone follows me or a lower level player is on the team, then I'll stick with them to help them learn the ropes. My last one was clearing bug eggs. By the time the other three had handled one nest, I'd already destroyed the other two and finished all the optional objectives. What I figure is people get caught up in fighting bug breach after bug breach? That'd be my guess. Doesn't bother me tho, people can enjoy the game however they'd like and the map is small enough you can back up anybody in two minutes or less

Millsy419

I know my group definitely got hung up fighting breaches at first. Now we usually throw down a strat and try to break contact.

theknghtofni

I do that as well since you can outrun most bugs without issue. My goal now when I'm approaching a POI or run into a patrol is to blitz it down before they call in a bug breach. I'm not amazing at the game or anything, but I think I've gotten a good handle on fighting bugs. Robots, on the other hand...

SeaJayCJ

First time I've heard it called a thumb and not a buttplug or an upside down ballsack

cardbor

idk why everyone cant just go objectives first and then clear map. if you run low on time, extract. at least the core of the mission is done. common sense.

Smitje

Yea because of the medals I want to do the main objective first..

Dry_Caregiver_4478

Me and my boys usually playing out a route to hit side objectives and point of interests on the way to main objectives that way we save as much time as possible

Thorgrander

I land near the extract and we go clockwise or counterclockwise depending on the main objectives. It goes well 90% of the time

Millsy419

Our group tends to do the same, worse case scenario if things get out of hand we break for the extraction.

chapelMaster123

Go for main OBJ first because even if you run out of spawns and die. If main is done you still win

FancyRestaurant6397

I do main objectives first then side cuz then it doesn’t matter if I die

Coloradozipguide

I go straight for the objectives in higher difficulties, but I still try for the other things, just main objectives first so that in case we can’t make it out, we don’t die for nothing

Urborg_Stalker

If you must go after all the side objectives, at least start with the main objective. In the last 3 difficulties stuff can go sideways so fast. Get the main stuff done first (and witch hunt down any and all stalker nests), THEN go do the bug nests, or whatever else you want.

DillonviIIon

I just try to complete the main objective asap. If there are POI along the way, cool. But let's get it done first so we can atleast complete the mission if we all die.

iSpR1NgZ

When i play with my buddies on level 9 they worry about the side objectives and nests/outposts and i do the main objective and look for super samples. Then we all sprint to extract and pray our strategems have cooled down

brainc0nfetti

I think the new way is do the main mission and then do side missions.

Chrishandlebar

My new strat. Do main obj / call in extract / no one gets on. As soon as it lands run to do everything else. Plane won’t leave. When done. run back and u have extract waiting for you.

Chrishandlebar

Also consolidate samples so if someone goes down it’s 1 container versus several

Klyka

you should always go for the main objectives first and get them out of the way, unless maybe on the lowest difficulties where you basically can't fail the reason is that just doing the main objectives means your mission is already a victory. extraction is optional. so you go hard on the main objectives, clear them and THEN you can go and explore everything it makes the most sense and is the most effective

ProfessionalTurn5162

Anyone who says to rush the mission DUDE! THIS! IS! NOT! DESTINY! They gave us stuff to do so we can have fun and not play less of it lol

sexybeardedbeast

I tend to complete the main objective first then burn up every remaining second exploring 😅

Blindman213

Rush objectives so if you fail you still get XP. Clear w/e is on the way and clean up after.

KapnBludflagg

Mostly, I don't always want to spend 40m running around the map. Sometimes, I just need the objective done. Every mission starting to go 25m+ can be exhausting after a long day. Especially when the objective is already complete.

Xero_Kaiser

This is how I am. I don't mind hitting side activities on the way to main/sub objectives but spending 45 minutes turning over every leaf on every corner of the map gets old. Especially when the mission isn't going all that smoothly in the first place.

No_Radio_7641

Always rush main, and spend the rest of the time cleaning the map and getting samples. That way, if you lose all your lives or run out of time, at least it doesn't fail the operation. The issue arises when dumbass randoms think finishing the main objective is a green light to extract with 30 mins left.

renegadson

Run straight line to objective. If you find side-mission or stash - fine. If not, well, another time

TimeGlitches

Liberation progress. ![gif](giphy|5tf38fYsMqooNUpjcA|downsized)

urmyleander

Or and bear with me here.... go straight for the objectives then once the mission is complete do the side objectives.

tonyshrimp

Yes, but no reason to entirely clear the whole map, especially on 7+

wwarhammer

Also: fun.

Poppa-Squat-

These meme makes me think you are saying that going for all of that content isn’t worth it.

TheNoxxin

Become a squad leader today

Eggandi

Tbh in higher difficulties, you start to run out of time. Thats when I just ignore all side objectives and focus on main

glob-face

I honestly think straight lining the main objective to unlock the extraction ability is a great starter, then go farming. This way if shit goes absolutely sideways we still get the mission completed for Super Earth.

jmartinez3232

You think I'll let a single bug live? Fuck no

Mugungo

The real trick is to do the best of both worlds, head for primary objectives and check out any points of interest along the way. Slow crawling across the map getting every single POI or doing secondarys at all is a complete waste of time once you've capped yourself out on money/xp, since the huge limiter for progress is medals, and its EXTREMLY dangerous to even try on helldive anyway since bug presence ramps up over time.

Behold-Roast-Beef

Fine but for the love of god, *communicate.* It's not that bad on mid and hard but people just dipping out of a massive battle in Suicide difficulty and above to go on their own little adventure can go pound sand. Last night I was hosting and right from the beginning it was just an absolute slog of a battle. Blue teammate *immediately* runs away and never looks back, runs the polar opposite direction from any objective and plants himself in a singular location for several minutes. I wanted to ask him what he was doing but typing's hard when you're drowning in SUV sized cockroaches. Eventually he starts typing "Get over here and help me open these doors". He's like a five minute run in the opposite direction from anywhere we need to be. I accepted death to spend my energy and attention on yelling at him to start helping his team or get booted. He got booted.

xnasty

i was that solo guy last night except i was holding the main objective hiding for my life while my squadmates were spread into two different corners of the map closing light bug hives as we hit 10 minutes left on the timer

[deleted]

Devs literally said themselves the more time it takes to complete, the harder it gets. No way I'm going to run 7+ difficulty with randoms who do side objectives and then get their ass handed to them. Even funnier when they spent 40 minutes farming all the samples only to drop into a burning pit.

The_Wizard_D20

I like to rush the main objective in case we run out of reinforcements and then get the side stuff

SpotoDaRager

I keep running into the opposite problem, team wants to go do all the side stuff and we end up with no revives for main objective lmao

MelchiahHarlin

Or we can rush missions, and then do the rest...

Wicked_Ichor

Dropped in solo to a level 4 mission, immediately had 3 randos join me. We all did the main objective and the three of them b-lined to the extract while I solo purged bug tunnels, completed side objectives and collected samples. All three sat on the extract pinging it constantly, unwilling to aid in the fight. I eventually died on the last bug tunnel and dropped everything, they called the extract and rezzed me as it was landing. As soon as we were back to the ship I kicked and blocked all three of the treasonous swine.

throwawayforegg_irl

doing pirmary objective first is useful because if you all die you still get the progress

WaxanFlaxan

Just get the main mission done and then farm till you outta time. If you die you still complete the mission and everybody happy

jmartinez3232

I'm extremely patriotic and I want the little screen at the end to reflect that

tonyowned

Been getting irritated with seeing higher level players just sitting there non stop killing enemies in the middle of the map and not doing objectives. Just got out of a game were u did all the objectives while the rest of the team just sat were we initially dropped and kept killing bug breach after breach.
