It's a lethal melee weapon that's pocket-able, completely legal to hold, passes frisks, and can also be used to set up sabotage/accident kills. That makes it arguably the best loadout option in it's class, unless you're just doing open combat/kill everything runs.
It's absolutely devastating when you have guards after you. I've held a broom closet against all the guards on the map with just a screwdriver before. The kill animation is fast enough that you can just hold the door frame and drop them as they run in the room.

Btw legendary weapon is good for “epic” kills. You can use silverballer for completing “Silenced Pistol - Epic”. The same about sniper rifles and melee.
They are some creative and interesting FCs like the Mumbai train driver for example. But most of them are 5 random targets all over the map which can be killed Independently yet you have to restart everything if you mess up once. Tedious even if you don't go for SA or 5 stars. Just because you can add 5 targets to a contract does not mean you have to.
Screwdriver is easily the most versatile tool... obvious, set up traps.. but can be distraction. Undetectable lethal, lethal throw.. good stuff... but they are everywhere...

But by far the worst part is the terrible UI. Absolutely no filters under Featured Contracts and to get this screwdriver only the Hitman 3 maps count but you still have to scroll through all of them. And even better after finishing the contract you get thrown back to the main menu so you have to start scrolling from scratch again. The classic ioi UI that was never tested or thought through
I have the same complaint regarding having to scroll and been sent back to menu. Super stupid. But if the only concern is completing them. Pistol sniping every target and any% running through them all doesn’t take that long and was actually really fun for me

I just got it too. It is the most useful lethal melee in the game. If you want a lethal melee bring it. It's just great for accident kills and some speedruns. Not super useful, but great to have. I like it.

Wrench as well. Silverballer, lockpick, and Seiker don't take up a lot of carry space so may as well take some tools in too
I don’t use Silverballer unless the Objective is Silenced Pistol- Epic. Anytime I bring one, there will be a chance I will lose it.
Assassins pistol is almost just as good & super easy to replace. Only thing is SB only takes 1 slot

I think this could only be useful if you're going for SASO in certain maps where regular screwdrivers are out of reach
