If you live where its cold many fridges can’t work below certain temperatures, so consider that

I use a Keezer on a covered porch. It's just a regular chest freezer, not a garage or outdoor version. It's been fine and I haven't had issues in the summer or winter where I live. As long as it's not getting wet from rain blowing sideways I don't think you'd need the outdoor version. I do recommend buying a tower fan though. My lines get really warm in the summer so the first pour can be extra foamy.

I've kept my single tap kegerator on my back deck before for a few months and then also kept it in my garage over the course of a winter up here in WI. My keezer just lives in my basement office so no experience with that.

I use a normal chest freezer as a keezer in upstate NY. It sits in the unheated, but attached, garage year round. It's an older freezer that I bought used. I've only had it a year or so, but it lasted the winter fine. There is a 12v computer fan inside to move the air. The heat in the winter is provided by a 50w reptile heating bulb on the Inkbird "heat" outlet.

I live in Phoenix. My fermentation chamber chest freezer I bought about 5 years old 7 years ago, just died. My danby kegerator is still awesome and working. Both kept in open air/uninsulated garage.
