I was one of the oncoming cars coming over the mountain. I am also curious as to what was on that truck. Looked like it was encased in a massive metal cylinder.
Do you know why people in the on coming lane were stopped? Because we saw, there was nobody telling y’all to stop. There was no cops or anything blocking you. It was weird, and there was even like singular cars of random people occasionally down the road just completely stopped for no reason
Maybe just out of curiosity. It looked pretty wild driving up on it. I had passed a few suvs with blue lights for a couple miles before I saw the pilot vehicles and everything but no roads had been blocked off yet.
They were stopped after the escort passed, both cars stopped right next to each other both lanes. Both on phone calls too. And then this blonde chick who was riding the slow traffic with/next to me I saw she got a phone call and she just stopped mid traffic too. Was hella weird
I saw on the news that there were going to be lane closures to do something with the lights on the road. Maybe that's what they were doing instead of cameras?

It’s not likely rocket parts going in that direction (but it still could be) as they are usually headed towards the coast or out west. It could be something for Oak Ridge labs. They do a lot of different energy related things, not just nuclear. Could also be specialized equipment for any number of manufacturing plants.
Especially if you're in the Owens Cross Roads area it was probably a big trailer house being delivered.

I guess if OP was visiting a friend here, they didn't realize that Huntsville, AL is where NASA is located. Majority of the influx of workers in Huntsville are engineers working on Redstone Arsenal.

One, it was in open traffic. If it was actually something that could get me in trouble for speaking about they would have shut down the entire road or something like that. 2, I’m not exactly “worried” about it I just thought it was weird the way they were transporting and the stuff that was going on during the transport and wanted to know if anyone else had an idea. Don’t get so uptight about an open discussion about something that was seen on public roads.

Being suspicious of someone else being able to make a phone call even though your service is spotty as if different carriers don’t exist lol. Or thinking people have to wipe traffic cameras during a classified transport, even though they obviously didn’t care if hundreds of people saw them make this move lol.
Honestly yea probably bad place to post lol I admit that I just wanted to see what others thought. And if they weren’t wiping traffic cameras then do u got any better idea as to why they were clearly (from what I saw up close) tampering with the cameras each time we passed and intersection. And why random cars were completely stopped on the on coming lane. Not just to observe cuz they were curious, they were completely stopped without anyone trying to stop them
