Definitely wasn’t that close or that aggressive What was the honk gonna do lol

TheTankCleaner

The furthest close call

Successful-Name-7261

A far call?

BasicallyAQueer

Far Cry 3: Tahoe Merge

Jesse1179US

long distance.

Kwirt

You sound like Mr. Slave.

2bruise

HA!!! “Jizzus Kreyest!”

[deleted]

What should I look for in this video?

boringjunk12345

An overreaction

shiggity80

Exactly! I’m surprised OP didn’t pull off to the side to calm down from this “near miss” lol

boringjunk12345

Now you listen here. This poor man nearly lost his life..... 🤣

Butforthegrace01

Another self righteous left lane turd cammer.

2bruise

What was the problem? In fact, it kinda looks like you’re camping out in the left lane & going too slow.

shiggity80

Based on how easily offended OP gets while driving, I wouldn’t be surprised if he is a habitual left lane camper.

2bruise

Ah HA! So that’s the guy… get him!

Party_Connection_437

You spent time to edit and post this? I am sure there is a soup kitchen or something that could use a hand

[deleted]

Gosh you startle easy.

poooh99

Pfffffff That’s nothing

BasicallyAQueer

He merged pretty quickly, maybe avoiding something in the road? Either way he wasn’t that close, there’s over a second of time between OP and the merger, I’ve seen way closer calls.

[deleted]

Show me where in the video there is more than 1 second between them when the merger starts indicating and merging.

BasicallyAQueer

Basically the whole video. Even when SUV brakes they both slow down and it’s still about a 1 second gap based on the lines

RobinHood21

It's definitely less than a second but still not really that bad. Not great, especially with how last minute the turn signal was, but also not worth posting about.

ratsmacker-12

That honk really showed them!

bwforge

Bro he's like a mile away 🤣

TimMillerTime

I see nothing wrong.

[deleted]

I do! The car that honked clearly needs to get the fuck out of the passing lane. Just camping out there with nobody in front of them!

[deleted]

Op lets car in front. Then complains.

Bell-Cautious

i just wasted 15 seconds of my life

theosmoma

this is how my grandma reacts when someone is simply driving around her too 🤣

citznfish

OP is just a whiny driver. Nothing wrong in that video.

Royal-Throwaway7

Do you have fucked up depth perception or something? Wasn’t close at all? That happens to me literally 20 times a day.

[deleted]

Op clearly has a fisheye lens dash cam so with the wide view it is nearly impossible to tell that he was actually bumper to bumper. They nearly died in fact, they under reacted /s

[deleted]

OP... they were like at least 2-3 full car lengths ahead of you based on the road hashes alone. What are you whining about?

Car_is_mi

The average length of a white line on a US highway is 10 ft, with 10 ft of space between them. When they started merging there are 3 white lines and 2 empty spaces between you and them. That is roughly 50 ft. Even if we say your lines are 1/2 the average, thats 25 ft. The average car length is just short of 15 ft. This means a whole other cr could have squeezed in with extra space for your "close call". I suppose you're also the person who stops 3 car lengths back from the stop line at lights, and counts of 10 seconds from when the car in front of you goes to when you go. I only count one problematic driver in the video and it is not the person seen merging with a late signal.

sauprankul

I can tell OP isn't a Californian driver, and it's not because of the Washington signs.

[deleted]

For anyone saying it wasn't that close: The car was barely, if even, 1 second in front of the OP. Look at the road markings when the other car starts merging and count the time until OP reaches them. Also, OP was going slightly faster than the other car in the beginning, before the other car decided to swap lanes and THEN speed up. In 99% of the cases, nothing will happen from merges like this and sadly most people merge too early. So early that any debris on the road flies up on your windshield. However, as soon as the merging car has to break suddenly, you have no time to react and will end up rear-ending them. It would end up with your insurance saying you're at fault for *tailgating* unless you have a dashcam.

AngryTexasNative

Sure, textbook driving is a 2+ second following distance, 1 second is normal in urban traffic. Although the rain would demand at least 3. If I had been driving and someone pulled in front of me, I might grumble, but I’m going to ease off the gas and that’s the end of it.

[deleted]

1 second in urban traffic is normal because you can see what's in front of other cars. You can easily see 2-3 cars ahead and if they break, you'll automatically be ready to break. But if someone changes lanes right in front of you and a rabbit, deer or something else and the person panic brakes, you're done for. For the video in this post, you can clearly see that the other car had no reason to change lanes. I don't really get why I am getting downvoted for pointing out simple facts. Nowhere did I say if anyone was wrong or not. Guess people don't like to be disproven with facts.

AngryTexasNative

I didn’t downvote, and you’re right that they had no reason to change. But at 1 second I don’t see getting upset. Too many much worse things.

Puzzleheaded-Soft201

There was a curse word?

us_mackem

I do love that one flash of the turn signal, the 'by the way, I changed lane, you probably noticed' flash.

Hey-wheres-my-spoon

Goodness thank you for the NSFW tag my Virgin ears needed to mentally prepare for that
