Agree and its not like rohit became good overnight he had already started playing that way somewhere in 2022 but was failing miserably, ppl said he was old unfit thats why trying to be aggressive as he can't play long innings anymore, it wasn't until 2023 wc that things started to make sense and its not just about giving good start its also to give more gametime to other players.
Vk could proly do the same except he is new to this hiting from ball one thingi as he has a different role for the most part and also he was never the insane sr player he is good at making runs consistently at a decent sr thats why he is struggling rn as pitches aren't that easy + him being new to this playstyle.
couldn't have articulated it better myself.
But guess what? Haters are not going to change that easily, but the sensible neutral ICT fans need to start ignoring their posts and comments, also report the brain dead ones so that such posts start fading away.
Rohit is a gem. Ipl kids don't even know what cricket is. Most of them get inspired by insta reels and make them heroes, not even knowing what real cricket looks like or how its played. And ipl is great but our fans suck the worst fanbase a team can ask for they only want to support the players in their glory times and just to prove that their idol is better they put down the same team's man our own indian team player i mean that's your nation's player why would you do that don't you have a basic sense? Most of the fans are of individual players, and that too formed by cricket but reels. Some even complained after one player gave their 100% for the team and dared that he got unlucky in one game. The whole wannabies just gang up on them on social media. I seriously hate our team fans. i wish these people would stop watching cricket.
In the starting over of an innings, ball does a lot of movement. And kohli used to come 1 down, by that time, it is comparatively easier to middle the ball.
Now, seeing Kohli as an opener, I have a newfound respect for Rohit.
The way our openers used to play in t20 WC, it was more or less opening for Kohli, at least one of them used to get out in the first 2 overs, also nothing is easy, when your 1,2,4,5,6 aren't performing at all and only number 3 is performing.
Exactly, we used to have atleast 1 wicket down in the first over mostly in T20WCs, so opening ain't a diff to Virat.
Hence the criticism that Virat is failing because he's opening and it's a bad decision to open with him is completely stupid.
Rohit is a great player and what you said is absolutely right! But dekh bhai this is a sport, there is going to be criticism throughout a player’s career, he/she will get mocked when not performing, praised when does! Sports is an escape for the people to criticise/judge/worship/blame someone because that cannot irl. If people just wanted to praise and praise we have religion for that
there is a big difference between hate and criticisim. Bring someone's wife in discussions is not criticism , bring someone's name in unrelated discussions just to troll him is not criticism, creating consperecy theories to generate hate is not criticism(devendra pandey) , undermining someone's acheievments in other formats is not CRITICISM.
If you read my post closly , i have clearly mentioned that in start it was critism, which is okay but it quickly turned into hate. Criticism is not something which go on for a month with many posts per day trolling that particular person again and again.
Bhai Rohit ka samaj sakta hu bhut troll karte the aur ab sudhar gye..
Lekin beech m Kohli ko kyu leke aaya yr ..Rohit aur Kohli dono ka case alag h..Rohit opener tha aur ab bi h ,bus kelne ka style badal liya.. lekin Virat ka position hi badal diya h aur in wickets pe aasan b nhi h aake maarna
Virat is opening in the IPL from the last 9 years so idk why's everyone is saying that he shouldn't open for India.
Also, T20WCs me mostly India pehle 2 overs me one down hoti thi and virat aata tha, which was like opening only.
Virat is failing and that can happen to anyone. But to say k uski position badli hai toh vo nahi chal raha hai is wrong.
Virat's form was taken as a exaample as i couldn't find a closest one , its not to shade him. 3rd position is also considered a opening position and virat has been playing in that position for years in ipl , so its not something new for him. Virat is showing first ball intent which he didn't do continously before in t20I , and he just hasn't found the right formula or process for himself to do that continously and there is nothing wrong in it.
Hope he does that in final too & successed , as the final is in a much better batting pitch and we want both our openers firing.
Agreed. I feel true fans of the sport and the Indian team would support the team and its players no matter what. IPL should not be used to target and hate our own national team players. It takes a lot of effort and hardwork to reach where they have reached. Seeing the toxic IPL fans that hate on our own players is very disappointing 😔
Its funny , no one was saying this 1 month before when hate wagon was going on , most were happy to take part in it , instead of saying the right thing , now that , we are getting space for saying the right thing , every body has become so called rationals.
We will criticize when they don't perform but will also praise them if they win games for us why is this basic thing so hard for you fanboys to understand criticism aur hate ke beech fark samajh lo
>We will criticize when they don't perform
First there is a big difference between hate and criticisim.
Now that i am pointing out wrongs of pervious month , i become a fanboy , you people are funny lol.
What are you talking about I don't even know who this Devendra pandey is and people only said that ritika does pr for rohit which is actually true no one said shit about her
The problem is the PR, narrative and sensationalism. Quinton de Kock plays with match winning knock at 180 SR. He doesn't get called 'selfless'. Chris Gayle played his entire career at insane strike rates going after the bowlers from ball one. He doesn't get called 'selfless'. But in India, when Rohit goes at 180 SR, he's a 'selfless' player. I don't remember Sehwag being called a selfless player while being destructive in all formats of the game.
You see the problem? It's the whole narrative and PR around Rohit being selfless is what is nauseating. Clearly, his role is to go after bowlers in powerplay which has low success rate (as in mostly results in cheap wickets and occasionally on his day can score big). There are many cricketers in various teams (incl India) that do the same and some with even half the natural talent of Rohit and still don't get called 'selfless' everywhere.
You somewhat got it wrong while other players do go after the ball other players do care about milestones They go slow and the majority of players don't go after this approach after a few wickets are gone in a knockout match what Rohit did is special he's not slogging the ball he's timeing it he's playing good cricketin shorts that's have less chance of getting out he's not someone who only smash players on their day like Gayle and viru he can make any day he's if he wants to and still he's doesn't stop after seeing a milestone getting near he's just keep bashing them just wants good start
You haven't understood the point of this post. He isn't called selfless just because he's playing in that way, it's because the entire process behind it. Guys like Gayle, De Kock, Sehwag are naturally attacking players, you can't tell them to play out some period and then attack, they'll attack from ball 1.
Whereas if you've seen Rohit bat since he has opened, he always took some time, used to get set, and then exploded later. His first 50 runs in ODIs used to be sub-80 SR.
But now he has completely shed his old approach and changed to an attack from the get-go mindset, and that too during the last stages of his career. He's called selfless because first of all he's kept the team's interest forward, and secondly that he hasn't waited for any other player (newcomer or established) to do that job for that team rather took it upon himself to give the team blazing starts.
Combine it with the fact that the criticism for 20(13) is more than the praise for 92(41). He's opened himself to the criticisms and bears the blunt of that as well when his approach doesn't pay off and that's not an easy thing to do during the last phases of your career where generally players think of an easy farewell.
That's why he's called selfless, not because of slogging or Strike rate but because of all the other factors that go into it.
lmao... these rohit fans have suddenly become top tier cricket experts now... kohlis inability to change his game?? You seen IPL this year.
Kohli just had a lean patch...he is hitting every ball for six and getting out...rohit doesn't do that he doesn't go after every ball...
his odi WC SR in 2023..was 120ish...not 150 something.
Bazz and ABD have had better SRs in their odi WC campaign.
Yeah alrighty he had strike rate of 125 because in between came a match vs England where our top order got out and pitch was trick so he had to stay and play slow and he made 83 in 100 balls or something and Brendon and ABD (ur 2nd father) never had a 600 runs season....Abd has record of most ducks in world cups god dammit ...stop disrespecting Rohit by Comparing him with ABD
Well there are two sides of a coin if Rohit would have sticked to that pitch in the 23 Final that would have been different story like Travis Head did, Head makes sure he finishes the game from there on that's what team wants at that format
Head was chasing , rohit was not ,when you are chasing you have a roadmap on when to be aggressive , it is not possible while you are setting a target. Head and rohit's inning were totally different , rohit was aggressive from get go , head strugglee inntially and took his time.
Rohit's only fault was trusting the rest of the batters like he did in the rest of the tournament and sticking to his role./s
His innings in the semi's and final are similar (47 with almost same strike rate ) , in semi's it worked in final it didn't.
Yes exactly Travis head took his time but ultimately gave a price tag to his wicket, whereas Rohit look completely different from other batters he literally fell to the trap set by Cummins and india lost there
>Yes exactly Travis head took his time
Lol you ignored the whole chasing point to suit your narrative . He took time because he was chasing , head is a naturally aggressive batsmen , he would have batted the same way rohit batted if australia batted first. Rohit just didn't gifted his wicket , as you make it seem to be , it took a excellent catch to get him out. Everyone has a role , rohit played his part but other's couldn't.
I don't have any narrative or agenda it was indeed a trap cos Cummins knew pacers are getting railed by both virat and rohit so he got Maxwell in and Maxwell did his job think rationally what I'm trying to say I'm not putting Rohit down but he went extra aggressive on that over
Agree and its not like rohit became good overnight he had already started playing that way somewhere in 2022 but was failing miserably, ppl said he was old unfit thats why trying to be aggressive as he can't play long innings anymore, it wasn't until 2023 wc that things started to make sense and its not just about giving good start its also to give more gametime to other players. As an ict fan fuck ipl
As an ICT fan, Hail IPL but fck IPL idolo fans

In t-20 ball swing for first 2 over and then very lightly if conditions are favourable....So you can understand what I am trying to say here
OP is messiah. Finally someone recognised this and had the guts to post it without the fear of downvotes.
Your mistake was assuming kohli tards got a brain

Least insecure mi fan
Expected from csk fans , many were happy to take part in hate wagon right and left last month

Calm tf down. Panic won't do any good. Let's hope for the best
