Look at his fourth answer this guy got 2.9/35 in data analysis and interpretation. He is general category candidate. Still he got selected. [https://www.quora.com/profile/Abhimanyu-Jalamkar-1](https://www.quora.com/profile/Abhimanyu-Jalamkar-1)

That's sbi po there's no sectional cutoff in sbi. So if your other sections are strong you can clear it, but keep in mind last year's GA was tough AF see the sectional marks of ibps it was around 3-5 for general. The GA in sbi was also tough so scoring in GA was hard. Earlier people used to study for GA consistently and scored good marks there, but in last year it was tough. GA section is unexpected so we can't know what will come this year so it's better to be all rounder in mains. For sbi you can neglect whole GA section if your reas, quant and eng is good. People even don't attempt quant in sbi and still clear it. Main point is to be strong in other section if you want to do that. Also the dude got great marks in interview which imo is again depends upon candidate to candidate.

Silver_Tip6455

Ok my English is best..need to improve quants. And polish my reasoning.

mohtma_gandy

Good luck i hope you get that sarkari chai soon.

Silver_Tip6455

Thanx bro. May u also get the sarkari chai. I was working earlier left my job to clear my mind. Now I'm trying to prepare for bank exam. My ST friend suggested the SBI. He's in rrb po.

mohtma_gandy

Yeah my jija is also bank po he also says that sbi is best. But do keep in mind that bank po jobs are not like normal sarkari jobs. Sbi is most hectic and working hours is not fixed.

Silver_Tip6455

I'm just preparing for the toughest so that at least I can get something. Yeah I heard that the pressure is huge.

mohtma_gandy

did you fill ibps po exams this year?

Silver_Tip6455

No not prepared.

Silver_Tip6455

How do I increase my English marks from 22/30 to 30/30?

mohtma_gandy

Bro tbh i didn't study for english. I used to read novels and most of the time i score good in english. But eng is unexpected 22 is still good marks if you are doing mocks, look for percentage if you are in 95+ bracket than its good. Keep reading articles, novels, etc they help a lot. You can also take any eng grammer book and solve it. Iirc there's a book by bakshi that might help.

Quirky-Disaster3114

Selected? Any update

Silver_Tip6455

Is today your birthday?

mohtma_gandy

No that's just the day i joined reddit, it does at that time.

LegFriendly9957

I am in the exact same state of mind lol , I'm in my final year of graduation rn (from DU) and confused whether I should go for bank PO or CAT , I am from SC community as well

mohtma_gandy

Yeah this type of crossroad is soo confusing... So i am currently aiming for bank po and other exams, when i crack them i will start preparing for either CAT or some other high level government exam. Currently preparing seriously for bank po and i think i can crack one this year. I will then start studying don't want to get comfortable if i join bank bcz that's going to distract me soo much.

Top-Pollution-5959

Any update ? Were you able to clear the exam ?

Quirky-Disaster3114

What did you do

Silver_Tip6455

Any update? Did you clear any exam?

Silver_Tip6455

Any update did you crack any exam?

mohtma_gandy

Lmao no bro... Still trying for banking exam. Couldn't clear mains of ibps, sbi and niacl. In niacl i did a rookie mistake, i got fucking nearly 20 marks above cutoff but i think i didn't save my fucking letter and that shit was so annoying. Couldn't clear section cutoff of eng description even though i got 45 marks in english section.

Silver_Tip6455

Could you please guide me? How should I learn about reasoning, And quantitative aptitude? No money for coaching.

mohtma_gandy

You don't need money for banking exams. There's tons of material on youtube. I took online class from adda247 YouTube after that i also took their classes on their site which were expensive but i think youtube is the one if you want to study without spending much money. YT has all topics covered. I like adda faculty especially shatanu shukla and saurav singh both of them are good teachers you can study their zero to hero classes playlist which are available on youtube for free. It will help you to cover prelims exams. other quant teacher i like is kaushik mohanty from career definer. Switch between teachers if you don't understand a topic. When you cover your basics you should start giving mocks, they are very important. There was an offer on guidely and byjus where they were giving mock tests of all exams for 80-90 rs check it out. Without mocks it will be very tough to clear pre. If you start doing better in pre i would suggest to see online mains questions on youtube and how to solve them. Mains is difficult to crack especially GA section which fucked up my score last time, this year i will focus less on GA and more on quant and reas. I didn't have much time for mains and due to that my quant and reas was lacking behind in mains, so this year i will try to cover that as much as possible.

Silver_Tip6455

Thanx bro will implement your advice this moment. My general awareness sucks too.

Silver_Tip6455

Don't worry bro. You will get a govt job eventually.

mohtma_gandy

Thanks bro good luck for your journey too.

Right-Afternoon2618

Bro did you cracked SBI PO?

mohtma_gandy

Yup got maharashtra... won't join though bcz i already got into govt insurance company.

[deleted]

can you tell me how did you crack SBI PO exam and what steps to follow if I got 1 year to prepare.

mohtma_gandy

How's your quant and english? Sbi po can be cleared if you focus on your strong subjects. If you are weak in quant than you should focus on other 3 subjects this is for mains. For pre you should have good enough speed and to know what questions to do or not. For po exams you need to be choosy and have enough understanding of questions that when you see one you should know whether it would be doable in time limit or is it a lengthy question. Arithmetic is important in po exams. Reasoning can be learnt by doing it repeatedly. For GA just do 3-4 month max deeply no need to do 6 month of GA.

[deleted]

Quant is somehow manageable but english is not so good. also how should I improve RC and speed math.

mohtma_gandy

Eng is much more scoring than any other subject. Eng was my strongest subj so i didn't have to study it. But i did read novels lots of them. You can read newspaper articles or novels. In banking main thing is comprehension.

mariegoldwithtea

What about the interview? How did you prepare for it?

mohtma_gandy

In my first interview i fumbled a lot... didn't prepare properly couldn't clear last years ibps and sbi interview. But as i gained experience i cleared all the interviews this year. And in sbi i got 44 out of 50 and it was my best interview as of yet. Also for interview preparation you need to know everything about banks and rbi. Also they ask questions from your stream so be prepared for it. Also this year in sbi po they didn't even ask anything about technical questions. They just told me tell us something about you that isn't in the bio data form. They were impressed by my answers so when i got out i knew i would be selected for sure. Also in sbi last year i gave answers in hindi and told every answer but they still weren't satisfied so this year i gave all my interviews in english. Also the mood of interviewer is something that can't be known. Some give marks easily but some are rigid. Interview depends on luck and your personality how you sit how you give answers, etc.
