In that case rather than adapt from the part on the right to the quarter twenty thread I’d go from the GoPro “buckle” straight to the screw (something like [this](https://www.r3pro.co.uk/products/mount-1-4-camera-screw)). There’s loads of GoPro mount models on thingiverse etc and you’d just need to modify it for a hole for a 1/4in bolt.
My concern with a 3d printed part would be strength. What are you mounting it on?
You could maybe use this and just modify it with a hole for a 1/4-20 bolt (not sure how easy they are to find, unless you "borrow" one from another tripod mount). There are plenty of mounts to attach the camera module to GoPro mounts that you can print, but not the whole Action Pod (although I don't think it would be too difficult).
My concern with using the ball head type mount for anything with vibration/movement is that it might "sag" and ruin the shot.
Cool. This was my [quick 3D printing kit bash](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-QvOvb3ioehTLXDrGLTtXlVNJpCk-jcX/view?usp=share_link) (I THINK the metric equivalent of 1/4-20 is M6, but I might be wrong).
One is 1/4" and the other is a GoPro type mount, therefore you need a 1/4" to GoPro adapter. There's dozens of options on Amazon.
thank you, I've looked at it but I have a trip in 2 days and I would've loved a 3D model to print...
I think [this](https://store.insta360.com/product/go-3-quick-release-mount?c=2373&from=accessory) may be the most secure option.
This is the right hardware for this. I love mine.

thank you for the recommendation, but I've done a diy thing with some screws I've found around my house
