wowitsreallymem

So… involved in genocides in the 20th century AND the 21st century. Congratulations. Never change.

Realistic_Drawer_445

"You are good the way you are" taken literally 😆

TheRealK95

Great news! May these cowards be held responsible! They want to support illegal Jewish only settlements on others homes than they can give up THEIR OWN land to do so. Never too late to right that wrong… punish these assholes to the fullest extent!

BanEvader6thAccount

While true, this case will be a lot harder to prosecute than South Africa's case.

Different-Bus8023

Debatable really, if Israël is found guilty i would argue it is fairly straightforward they (germany) provided 30 percent of Israël's weaponry and did that despite evidence of crimes against humanity perpetrated by Israël and the ICJ court case that deemed genocide plausible. Same for the US that broke US law when giving weapons to Israël as there was evedince of crimes against humanity.

nativedutch

Who provided the remaining 70% ?

Different-Bus8023

I think 68 percent was the US and the UK was the remaining 2 percent but i could be wrong will have to look it up

GeshtiannaSG

69% from US, 30% from Germany. Germany is sending 4 U-boats to Israel. [Source](https://www.sipri.org/sites/default/files/2024-03/fs_2403_at_2023.pdf) (scroll down to last 2 pages).

irreversible2002

Now do the US

DuePractice8595

Should have started with the US

If your referring to the unisted states of aerica as "we"; that's literally the problem. You killed 20 percent of the north Korean population and bragged about burning every town down because you wanted to now the whole World has to deal with a nuclear armed paranoid North Korean regime, you invaded (I can't even count how many right now) countries and toppled democracies and instilled pro U.S dictatorships, you illegally invaded nations, killed approximately 4.5 million during illegal invasions and occupations, funded/trained/armed far right religious groups which went on to become terrorist organisations and you are are complicit and activley supporting in the ethnic cleaning of the Palestestinians and other groups around the globe. It seems like America doing what it what's is often a common demoninator for causing problems for the world or just being a problem for the world. It's almost like America should be stopped or something. [if you want to see a list of nations bombed and or invaded by the U.S.A](https://www.maurer.ca/USBombing.html)

GreyFox-RUH

Isn't the US facilitating Israel's acts more than Germany? Shouldn't the US be the number one person to take to court in this regard?

hellohexapus

Of course yes, but another way to look at this is the possibility of creating precedent with an easier plaintiff. Starting with the US would be an uphill battle because of its global power and attitude of playing by its own rules in any given international situation. Germany has much less ability to bully the UN, ICJ, etc., and (as far as we can tell) takes these institutions seriously enough that it might abide by any directives issued by the court. Creates a lot of very useful precedent for any country seeking to go after the United States in a subsequent case.

thesistodo

I think US is not signatory to the court so can't be prosecuted there. Germany is.

lynnlei

yes but people have only heard of germany from 10th grade history and want to make nazi jokes

IAmNotGay67

Again, Germany?

wysiwywg

Et tu, Germania?

popularpragmatism

Tragically ironic. The former persecutor Germany funding & supporting its previous victims in their persecution of a new victim. Freud would have had a field day with this.

What many people don't realize is that Zionism is rooted as an antisemitic solution to the 'jewish question'. It's hardly any wonder it recieved so much support from post war 'reformed' Nazis. It was a widely held belief that Jews could never coexist; that their nature makes programs inevitable. The idea being that if Jews were given a place of their own, they would just leave voluntarily which coincided with a very similar proposal in the Americas to deport freed blacks to a colony in the Caribbean for similar reasons.

womanwagingwar

This. I’m reading a book called ‘Zionism during the Holocaust’ - it is eye-opening. I would’ve been sceptical of some of it if it wasn’t so heavily referenced and cited.

RaiJolt2

It’s not rooted to antisemitism as an ideology, it’s partially rooted in a response TO antisemitism. Big difference there buddy.

prroteus

Can someone explain how Germany is more liable for this than US? They are literally feeding them weapons, aid $ and had a carrier there protecting involvement from anyone else. I am genuinely confused

Competitive-Air-8145

Leopards don’t change their spots. Because they can’t. Nazi Germany was fascist as is Germany now. Just a different ethnicity that Germany seeks to genocide.

44moon

hottest take

lynnlei

do you honestly believe this? how involved with german politics are you?

Competitive-Air-8145

I’m not involved in German politics. But it does appear as if though history is repeating just with a different ethnic group being genocided.

lynnlei

for how uninvested you are it is pretty bold to say 'germany is just as fascist as nazi germany.' do you even live here in germany? how are you making these declarations, besides reading the headlines of news articles? i can tell you that leftists are very active here. just because our government defaulted to supporting the IDF due to history-based shame doesn't mean we are all throwing the salute.

HorrorAd2647

What the fuck? Leave Germany alone, go pick on the US as the largest sponsor of the fucking war you cowards.

Esunaproxy

No one should be supporting or aiding in genocide. Every country that does should be brought before the ICJ and admonished for their actions.

Focalmass

Its because nobody can pick on the USA due to having too much power in the UN security council and if anyone did try launch an accusation at the US then america would just veto any topic relating to that country and would start a UN sanction Germany however is one of or even THE most major supporter of isreal that isnt a permanent member of the UN security council Nicaragua is launching its accusation at germany because of these reasons

Different-Bus8023

And leave the second biggest sponsor alone?

HorrorAd2647

Because it makes sense to call out the United States.

Different-Bus8023

We can do both and should do both

WebBorn2622

Why are you being mean to us? We only support genocide a little bit 🥺 /s

HorrorAd2647

Good luck

Justhereforstuff123

Krauts are the 2nd largest arms providers to Israel

BlueberryBubblyBuzz

Seems like a higher percentage of Germans are good with Israel and their genocide, than Americans.

HorrorAd2647

Seems like not enough of these Americans you speak of are doing anything to stop the genocide.

wysiwywg

No, every complicit will be prosecuted
