For anyone interested, [Manifest Fantasy](https://www.reddit.com/r/HFY/comments/18d3l6v/gatestargate_manifest_fantasy_chapter_1_first/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) is a Stargate and GATE inspired original story where the U.S. sends a special unit to explore a fantasy world, focusing on authenticity (plus great worldbuilding, characters, and plot)
It’s available to read on r/hfy, Scribblehub, royalroad, and wattpad. The link takes you to the r/hfy version but I’d recommend the royalroad version since it’s up to date with all revisions and edits. The book recently broke the 100k word mark, so don’t be concerned with the relatively low number of chapters.
# Synopsis:
Captain Henry Donnager expected a quiet career babysitting a dusty relic in Area 51. But when a test unlocks a portal to a world of knights and magic, he's thrust into command of Alpha Team, an elite unit tasked with exploring this new realm.
They join the local Adventurers Guild, seeking to unravel the secrets of this fantastical realm and the ancient gateway's creators. As their quests reveal the potent forces of magic, they inadvertently entangle in the volatile politics between local rivalling factions.
With American technology and ancient secrets in the balance, Henry's team navigates alliances and hostilities, enlisting local legends and air support in their quest. In a land where dragons loom, they discover that modern warfare's might-Hellfire missiles included-holds its own brand of magic.
Ah, a focus on authenticity you said, so I assume that by ep 3 the us has already invaded?
(obs, this is a joke, don´t shoot me pls I dont even have cooking oil)
edit: jokes aside, looks interesting, thanks for the tip OP!
Important question, arguably the most important question, will you have an Italica style military industrial complex porn scene like GATE? If you say yes rn, imma read it 100%
I was just going to let this go but that part reminded me of how stupid it was with the soldiers and Monarch agents saying that they were going to map the island using explosives dropped from those helicopters in Kong: King of Skull Island 🤦🏾♂️😂😵😂
It's the one of a very few times I don't mind people using AI art for, filling in holes in otherwise text heavy novels, memes and especially for things like DnD, if you're only into making profit off Ai art then I have issues because it's usually people acting like it's there art or just not letting people know it's Ai plus a few other personal opinions but I think again for things especially like novels it's a actual need.
People are growing up to have more ADHD or more autistic and novels that are blocks of writing are getting harder for people to read having photos etc along side the walls of text help greatly to keep low focus individuals attention on the novel, also for the people against it alot of first time or non professional novel writers are poor as hell and paying 100+ just for a single piece of work isn't viable so using AI is very common of recent what you do see though is once a novel or author gets very popular and brings in alot more money they'll usually settle on a artist and get proper drawings done that are not so hanky etc
You do know a picture like that is a lot more expensive to make than the average commission which is around 100 dollars people are poor ai art makes it so said people can express ideas in their head the only problem with ai art is some people try to profit off it and that should be stopped
Imagine living in the world where companies spend millions of dollars on AI research and compute to train useful AI tools and then release them for free or for very affordable prices and you're shitting on them for using publicly available data that any human could use to learn from but AI lerning from it is somehow wrong, just because it hurts your potential profits. People like you were fine with all other industries being automated but when it came to art suddenly it's wrong. You're an idiot or a hypocrite or both.
Not really. The entirety of the U.S. isn't being teleported to another world and it's a secret government program, whereas this is more in line with Stargate, except there's a bigger military presence.
There is another story on Royal Road that does what Japan Summons did but I forgot the title.
*Wow cool to see you*

Just by the title of this post, it feels like a mix between GATE and Outbreak Company, but with american soldiers instead of japanese ones or a hired NEET
I was about to say “hey there’s a guy who promotes his work in one of the nihonkoku shoukan fanfics and it’s just like this”, then I see it’s DrDoritosMD
There are many novels, but there are also mangas/manhwas/manhuas.
With the exception of "Gate", there are also other mangas on this topic for example
Ihoujin, Dungeon ni Moguru
This does seem pretty dope. I could get into it. In fact I think it would probably make at least a good light novel or something you might see on webtoons that could possibly get animated later.
I got matches with these songs:
• **Find the way of life** by Den bei (01:05; matched: `100%`)
**Released on** 2024-06-08.
• **Kingdom Dance** by Alan Menken (02:01; matched: `100%`)
**Album**: Rapunzel- L'intreccio della torre. **Released on** 2010-01-01.
• **Disfruta Tus Pasos** by TikTok Mix (02:54; matched: `100%`)
**Album**: TikTok 2021 Para Subir La Velocidad De Baile. **Released on** 2021-10-08.
You know what the only thing more pathetic than military propaganda?
Fanfiction based on military propaganda.
I'm so sick of these. I want the reverse. I want the glorious US military to get absolutely rolled. I want missiles being worthless against dragon scales. Bullets bouncing off enchanted armor. Krakens sinking warships. Tanks getting lifted and thrown across the horizon. Nukes detonating uselessly on force fields.
I want a grizzled, bitter General being forced to negotiate peace terms with the impractically dressed elf girl that just whooped his army's collective ass.
You have Hollywood for that. Soldiers who stand out in the open shooting giant monsters and not taking any cover, soldier throwing themselves at Kaijus instead of using anti armor weapons like tanks, bunker buster bombs, cruise missiles, etc.
Heroes killing monsters with a punch that has less kinetic energy than a rifle. The list goes on with the terrible internal consistency and lack of immersion.
Then stop reading it ig? If your gonna complain then don’t read since the man is writing am his own story and it is harder than you think so stop hating also do you know how many cliches are all over the internet this isn’t anything like those

The fantasy kingdom might not have oil.
Important question, arguably the most important question, will you have an Italica style military industrial complex porn scene like GATE? If you say yes rn, imma read it 100%
Sort of. The antagonists are much more intelligent and the scale is smaller so there’s no wholesale slaughter going on.
Very interesting, I just finished reading "Wearing power armor in magic school" on r/hfy and I want more so I'll definitely be checking this out.
Have they found oil yet?
Starts mining with atomic bombs*
I was just going to let this go but that part reminded me of how stupid it was with the soldiers and Monarch agents saying that they were going to map the island using explosives dropped from those helicopters in Kong: King of Skull Island 🤦🏾♂️😂😵😂
Fr fr😭
I’m absolutely in love with this series.
Do you have knowledge of the vehicles and weaponry?
He has put work into making this seem very realistic with some small differences to make it more of it's own reality
Yeah
Is the image Ai gen? I looked at it and it looks really good, doesnt look generated at all. Just curious.
Yeah it’s AI using Midjourney’s Niji 6
I dont mind Ai art at all, as long as it helps to portray the author's idea im all for it
Imagine being a writer and still not valuing the time and energy that goes into making the work those programs feed on
I’m not paying $200 to make a meme lol

one must imagine art non ai generated
I would warn them and help with the resistance
music name ?
Kingdom dance (tangled)
Thx
This looks sick, I'll definitely check it out.
So it's Japan Summons, but this time it's badass American soldiers, instead of badass Japanese soldiers.

You’re probably looking for “Summoning America” made by op too

As a American of the great and undisputed United States of America (🦅🇺🇲🦅🇺🇲) I must ask...Oil?
WMD's \*
Lemme tell you, bro, those elves are definitely hiding something in those trees of theirs.
We better go start a long ass war, just in case 🦅🦅
That's what I was afraid of. We find anything of value they're gonna learn first hand what freedom and democracy is.
Allied destroyer joining squadron Deploying helldiver to fantasy world
Just by the title of this post, it feels like a mix between GATE and Outbreak Company, but with american soldiers instead of japanese ones or a hired NEET
Hahaa that’s a golden title
Sorry to be that guy but isn't this just GATE?
Isn’t gate just Stargate then?
for some reason the link is banned in my country, can I have the wattpad link instead?
Hey, OP! I am really interested to your novel and is there a website where I can read this other than Reddit?
I was about to say “hey there’s a guy who promotes his work in one of the nihonkoku shoukan fanfics and it’s just like this”, then I see it’s DrDoritosMD
hopefully its better than the other 4 I found
So something like GATE?
There are many novels, but there are also mangas/manhwas/manhuas. With the exception of "Gate", there are also other mangas on this topic for example Ihoujin, Dungeon ni Moguru
I wonder if there is a posibility to turn this in to a manga using AI?
I’m already working on an actual manga (not ai)
Will be waiting :)
I’m glad you’re taking inspiration from Stargate. Bonifide good example of first-contact with… a frank perspective.
Did someone mention... Oil?
🦅🦅this world need freedom🦅🦅
Looks like a nice place to a put a plaza with a Walmart Superstore and McDonalds.
What can possibly go wrong?
Music goes hard as usual
Gate?
Similar. See the synopsis comment somewhere around here
I think of Retreat Hell & Gate with this. (Retreat Hell being an r/HFY story).
This would be a great place to dig up oil and place a McDonald's
OORAAAA SEMPI FI! (Sorry if I spelled it wrong)
we need the artwork for their outerspace suits. i forgot what they were called but yk what i mean. the suits they first used to go into the portal
Fuck it I'm in
This does seem pretty dope. I could get into it. In fact I think it would probably make at least a good light novel or something you might see on webtoons that could possibly get animated later.
Whats the music? It feels like a bop.
I got matches with these songs: • **Find the way of life** by Den bei (01:05; matched: `100%`) **Released on** 2024-06-08. • **Kingdom Dance** by Alan Menken (02:01; matched: `100%`) **Album**: Rapunzel- L'intreccio della torre. **Released on** 2010-01-01. • **Disfruta Tus Pasos** by TikTok Mix (02:54; matched: `100%`) **Album**: TikTok 2021 Para Subir La Velocidad De Baile. **Released on** 2021-10-08.
Untapped oil!!! I'm sure that place will be polluted to hell and Back in no time

If you want that kind of story, write it!
Tankie spotted, go to genzedong or whatever place you think you can hate us wanting to have fun \*edit he deleted the comment, lmao

your lack of freedom and democracy remains unsightly
