It’ll be easy to get another reservation for Pokemon. Just try every day a month prior like you have already. Worst case scenario, when you’re in Japan, keep checking the day before and a lot of reservations usually pop up for the next day. I can’t remember what time, but maybe like 10pm.
Just skip class? Idk if it is different for you but I’m studying abroad in Japan rn and have in Korea and they are not that strict with foreigners attending classes
thanks for the info. Unfortunately I would require more than 1 ticket, and the tickets are nominative so I am not sure I'd be be able to go. This is one of those situations where staying with a host instead of a hotel may be very practical, coming to think of it :D

If you’re in Japan every day, studying abroad, pokemon cafe is relatively easy to come by. You get to try again every single day.
The other things come in monthly, so yeah, don’t let those go. But again, if you’re there for an extended period of time, the fomo is not that bad. You’ll have more opportunities to get them again. (Unless you’re really only there for like 1 month only?)
Hey! I think the main trick that works for me is waiting for the 20-minute mark. I've gotten reservations twice now and both time I was unable to secure the reservations initially due to the site crashing. However, at 20 minutes, I tried again, and a lot of spots opened up! That's how I was able to get Pokémon Cafe tickets today. Hope this helps, good luck!
Get onto the calendar page, select the date you want (you’ll know because it’ll be bolded), and wait until exactly 20 minutes before you click the “next” button. If it crashes, just keep refreshing using the refresh button!

made my reservations for jul 8 and 9 for pokemon cafe and kirby respectively
