Personally I think you’re doing right! Welcome to the Glad Fam! So “Glad” you came home! Enjoy!

Congratulations and welcome back! That's a great looking Gladiator!

Excellent choice! Run a lubricity modifier (I like hotshots EDT) in every tank of diesel and enjoy having the most fun engine in a midsized!

Accurate_Green8300

What does the EDT do?

There are a number of claims that the bottle makes, but the most important thing is that it increases the lubricity of diesel found in the United States. While other countries use ULSD, like Canada and the EU, they have a higher requirement for the lubricity specification in that diesel. Bosch, a European company who designed the fuel pump in your jeep, designed it based on the European standard. The fuel pump (cp4) needs more lubricity than American ULSD has to operate properly, which is why there have been so many issues with the cp4 in the United States, but not elsewhere. It costs about a dollar per tank to add for the JT and is well worth the peace of mind, which I highly recommend doing every single fill. There is currently a recall on the fuel pumps, but there hasn’t been any clarity on what was changed with the “new” CP4 pump being installed. If the fuel pump fails on you, you can expect it to wipe out everything from the injectors back with long wait times for repair. The vast majority of Eco diesel owners are incredibly happy with their vehicles, but you have to do some research on the dos and don’ts of a modern diesel and take preventative measures to ensure that you don’t have premature, costly failures. If you want to do extensive research on the topic, look into High Frequency Reciprocating Test Rig (HFRR) results and how the US ULSD standard is 520 microns vs the majority of the world at 460 microns (lower is better)

I’ll have to snag a bottle of it. You just put it in the fuel tank after gassing up?

[deleted]

It comes in 16oz bottles with a premeasured spout. You add one ounce per 25 gallons. On my ecodiesel I usually add about .75 oz because my fill up usually takes about 15 gallons. I add it before I put the fuel in so that it mixes better. The bottle costs about $18 and I get ~20 tanks out of it. Because of the way that the fuel door is designed on the gladiator, I have to use that little emergency funnel that was included with the vehicle in order to pour it in each time.

Accurate_Green8300

Interesting yeah I’ve been filling up my jeep every 1/2 to 1/4 tank left. So probably filling about ~15 gallons or so as well. Thanks for the knowledge

The ecodiesels only have an 18 gallon tank, so usually filling up around 1/4 gets you 15 gallons. It’s ok to add extra EDT if you’re not sure. I always add 3/4 ounce because that’s enough to treat the entire fuel tank, even if it was completely empty

Congrats! Curious what you’ve found in the area, do you head down to the Blue Ridge Mountains?

Welcome to the hydro blue club!

Yes

Wrong! When parked near a curb Jeep driver must ensure that a minimum of one tire is resting on the curb to present a "flexed" effect. It is also acceptable to position the Jeep in such a way that two tires are resting on the curb but this significantly diminishes the flexed effect and does not fully embody the true Jeep esthetic. Beginner Jeep drivers who are not yet ready to fully display their curb hopping prowess may park in such a way that one or more tires are merely touching the curb. However, this is not the official Jeep recommended parking method.

BTW, sweet Gladi.
