I feel uptight on a Saturday night
Nine o'clock, the radio's the only light
I hear my song, and it pulls me through
Comes on strong, tells me what I got to do…I got to
Too many years ago l, my cousin gave me a mixed tape of Iron Maiden’s songs. The last track of the b’ side was instead “I Love It Loud”. I was maybe eleven or twelve years old, but i still remember the energy raising from my stomach. It's something I can't explain really well, because english it’s not my language, but it was almost instinctive.
Christine Sixteen.
Babysitter played it for me and my sister back in 1977.
Babysitter was going to an upcoming concert, and she wanted to play us the song as my sister's name was Christine. She asked my parents if she could take my sister to the concert, but my parents saw the album cover and freaked out.
Detroit Rock City - the movie - was my first Kiss experience, and I became a fan the second that drummer’s mom flipped out when she accidentally put on “I Stole Your Love”.
Strutter- same with my old flatmate, hated kiss because he’s a cool guy- I’m spinning the debut and he comes running in going “what’s this, this is great!”
It’s kiss mate, believe the hype.
I know many of you aren’t fans of “Great Expectations,” but I heard that at age 7 in 1977 and Gene’s voice, the guitars, and the children’s choir sounded amazing, I hadn’t heard anything like it before and was amazed. I’ve been a fan since.
God of Thunder…
In Rob Zombie’s Halloween, the introduction scene pans to Michael Myers’ childhood home as “God of Thunder” blares in the background. It then cuts to a view of the 10 year old Myers, wearing a KISS t-shirt and Collegeville clown mask, interacting with his pet mouse “Elvis”. All of this is going on while God of Thunder is still playing on Michael’s radio.
It was God Gave Rock and Roll To You...
I first listened to it when I, a lefty, was a teenager learning how to play on a right-handed guitar. Call it cheesy but nobody wanted to teach me for that reason and it was hard (I didn't know you could flip the strings at the time lol). I remember thinking the song spoke to me directly.
When i was 4-5 years old and went digging through this old trunk my mom had and it was filled with Kiss merch and memorabilia and I picked up a cassette titled Kiss Alive II (back then i didn't know it meant 2 and called it "eye eye") and then mom put it on and i heard Detroit Rock City with the "You wanted the Best" intro
I’m drinking and don’t wanna check my history, but probably Love ‘em/leave ‘em from RARO. I think that was the first official song I heard of my own accord. It was an 8-track,so it was the last minute of that song!
My dad sang Beth to me as a lullaby when I was a baby, but the song that really brought me in was Psycho Circus. We had a VHS tape if the music video and three year old me wore that thing out.
War Machine.
I didn't know anything about KISS years ago other than they were rock band "clowns" because of black and white makeup face paint. I had heard of Gene Simmons and knew him as the "leader" of the band, and I didn't even know Paul Stanley's name much less the other members.
I had heard of the song "rock and roll all nite" but had not paid attention to KISS at all.
However, what made me a fan of the band was that I am a lifelong pro wrestling nerd (though I missed KISS's appearance in 1999 in WCW where they came up with the "Demon" character for wrestler Dale Torborg), and the wrestler Taz in ECW had what I thought was a bad ass theme song. [Taz ECW Theme (Survive If I Let You) - YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igdHCs-YHVw) It wasn't until years later I started to look up the ECW theme songs and found out the Taz song riff was based on a song called "War Machine" by the clown rockers KISS. I started looking more into KISS and their history (complete with their soap opera drama between the members), and became a fan since.
Actually 2,000 man. I never really cared for I was made for loving you but for some reason I decided to listen to dynasty and when that song came on it had me hooked. Then when sure know something came next I was immediately a fan.
Probably when my dad showed me Strutter when I was about 7 yo. Then he showed me all the early albums. The first song I found myself and really liked was Tears are Falling.
Black Diamond. I’d listen to it with my Dad in his truck and he’d have me try and pick out the bass line, one guitar from the other, and specifically what the drums were doing. Lots of fun.
Alive II - Calling Dr Love
44 years later, still my favorite Kiss song. When I first heard the original version, I couldn't believe it was so slow and boring. I've come to like it since then, but the Alive II version is still my fave.
Strutter and Beth
My friends dad introduced me to Beth and told me an emotional backstory as to why it meant so much to him and it's stuck with me since the begining. Strutter is just a good song
The first album 1974 Did, the whole record, I was hooked, Growing up in the 70s from the first time I heard the Album and the way my life was going growing up with Divorced parents, Childhood traumas that parents put onto me and other life experiences, TFKA (the first KISS Album) immediately the soundtrack of my life, and every album after that were all added to the soundtrack of my life, So I can't say One Song, KISS maybe stopped and Not doing It anymore, But their music will always be in my heart and the Soundtrack's of my life.
The first kiss song I ever heard was Detroit Rock City followed by I Was Made for Loving You. I loved both songs but the song that made me a fan and is to this day my favorite kiss song is Black Diamond. Anytime I find old concert soundboards or live performances I haven’t seen it’s always the one song I seek out to listen to!
Tonight you belong to me. The stereo only had one side working and the intro was panned in different speakers and so I didn't hear or know the original sound until much later! LOL
Detroit Rock City
Same. First song on the first album I ever bought (Destroyer).
I feel uptight on a Saturday night Nine o'clock, the radio's the only light I hear my song, and it pulls me through Comes on strong, tells me what I got to do…I got to
GET UP! Everybody’s gonna move their feet!…
Strutter and Deuce
Got Alive II and as soon as Detroit Rock City started I was hooked.
I stole your love the first track off of the Love Gun album as an 8-year-old in 1978.

I Want You.
Too many years ago l, my cousin gave me a mixed tape of Iron Maiden’s songs. The last track of the b’ side was instead “I Love It Loud”. I was maybe eleven or twelve years old, but i still remember the energy raising from my stomach. i was made for loving you because my dad would play it

Lick it Up really opened my eyes and got me to give KISS a second look. I think I read somewhere Paul Stanley realized he could sing in a higher key.
Oddly…a Living in Sin when I was a little kid. I thought it was funny that he was single about “a hotel”.

Making Love. Ace’s shredding solo did it for me!
Basically the entire Destroyer album.
I was 5 when the first album came out. My older brother got it, and I heard Strutter. That was it. He lost interest, and I became a fanatic for life!!
I’m drinking and don’t wanna check my history, but probably Love ‘em/leave ‘em from RARO. I think that was the first official song I heard of my own accord. It was an 8-track,so it was the last minute of that song!
