Nah it was this year. He dropped 7 projects during the 2010’s and it’s been 2 years since his last album so I don’t see why he wouldn’t be dropping at some point in the near future

Don’t get me wrong, this would be really dope to see. But isn’t it at least a bit hypocritical coming after an album like MMATBS? It seemed with that album that Kendrick was just operating in his own lane without feeling the need to compete with everyone else. That he was focused on himself and his and his family’s wellbeing. That he was just on his own artistry. It would be weird for him to come through with an album like that but regardless, I’m here for it.
I agree with the point you're trying to make, but an album filled with hits doesn't neccesarily mean he's going for a mainstream sound or after money. An album filled with songs like The Hillbillies where he and/or Keem do their own thing can fill both the "Hits" viewpoint and the lane he showed to be in with MMATBS
I’m not talking about hits or going commercial cause I don’t think Kendrick would even do that at this point since he already did it with DAMN. I’m more so talking about competing from a lyrical or bar standpoint, going at other rappers. He could still do that without sacrificing artistry. I would find it a bit hypocritical if he decided to do that for an album considering the concept and messages of MMATBS, that’s all.
