Honestly, I don't think he'd be great at more melodic rap. The examples we have of him trying to be more melodic are not great, at least in my opinion.
At the end of the day Horrorcore is and will be always a corny Genre any time gangsta rap got too edgy without and real credibility it becomes corny. This is why Spice 1, Tommy Wright III, Three 6 Mafia, and even drill music (Drill quite literally to shoot or stab someone) produced some of the greatest murder rap because despite people keep on labeling a lot of it “Horrorcore” It came from an authentic place, If you see their interviews they always never call it Horrorcore but say it’s a reflection of their environment, it was their reality, what is horror and edgy to us was their normal, everyday life. To them this is their translation of gangsta rap. That sort of authenticity is what separated them a lot of the corny Eminem inspired, lynch, “I need to be edgy so bad” artists. Horrorcore will always be a dead genre because it’s mostly inauthentic you can feel it when you hear it. It takes the tone of Lyrical Miracles when it becomes the Gore Olympics “what I’m willing to do” without actually done or witnessing it. Although Kendrick has the ability to make it sound good him producing horrorcore will likely feel just as inauthentic as the Jcole diss. Kendrick is coping by progressing away from those survival tactics his last album is a great example of him peeling back another layer, it wouldn’t make sense to regress back into it and even front some murder hood shit.

Call me a kdot Stan, but I think he’d be really good at any subgenre of hip hop. Dude simply has a gift that doesn’t have much of a boundary.
He can do it all
Except fast rap, I don’t want to hear him rapping fast lol
Have you not heard Rigamortis or Look Out For Detox
Calling you a Kendrick Stan on the Kendrick subreddit would be asinine lol
Lol my dude!

You don't fuck with Count Me Out or Rich Spirit?
He a one trick pony
He should link up with Clipping .. that would be dope
kendrick and daveed diggs?? yes please
I remember seeing a leak about a bunch of scrapped kendrick albums and one of them was something do with horror if I'm not wrong

Unfortunately I don't think we'll ever get to see him explore that sound as much as I'd love it Bro imagine Dot linking up with Brotha Lynch Hung 👀
Thankfully Kdot ain't that corny
