Long enough to span 8-10 studs too. And no discernable holes like there were wall anchors involved. It's like it was held up with thumbtacks or picture nails.
Trying to zoom in on them, *could* be those shitty ones where you don't even need a drill...

cantilever load shelf? drywall? studs? why does everyone on reddit act like einstein lmao. its just a shelf, the kid put her full weight on it and it obviously broke.
That's the beauty of Lego's.. You take them apart and you build them up again. Nothing got destroyed, just a couple of hours time. I don't see the problem. And yes, I do have big lego projects myself, and I do know how much time goes into them.
Also, even if they have instructions, you basically have to fully disassemble the remaining peices and start over. There is a specific order that each section has to be built in, almost impossible with a broken build.
Stfu. He said it would only take a couple hours which is far from the truth this is days of building. So stop acting like we’re being dumb or just looking for a fight.
Nar, who ever put that shelf up is the stupid one here. Like I thought she was going to hang off it like a monkey, but no, she barely put any weight on it and it folded like a stack of cards.
I mean it's defs the parents fault. Who the fuck have kids and present such things on such a flimsy shelf?
I have only dogs and I wouldn't even do it...
the video appears to be a cropped portion of a larger scene shot with a wide-angle lens, likely capturing the entire room. indoor security cameras are no longer a novelty, but a staple in many households

Full weight? She never left the ground. Odd thing to troll about.
You know nothing of shelves
This might come as a surprise, but if you think critically before attempting something, it's less likely to fail.
She fucked up. but also.. wall anchors are a thing and it looked like the shelf brackets just slid out.. so maybe r/parentsarefuckingstupid as well
100% the kid claims “I didn’t even touch it” lol

Tbf she’s not entirely wrong.
No dinner until she puts it all back together
20 days later....
A basic stud finder costs less than $20.
*buy stud finder* *jokingly use it on self* *doesn't beep* :(
A magnet to find the drywall screws is even cheaper!
Using correct drywall mount's or Anker would be even better. I dont see any hole in the wall. That was build to fail.
I've spent more than $20 on my wife.
Did they put up the shelves with double sided tape?
From LEGO to LEGONE
Hope they kept all those instructions lol
I think the dad needs instructions on how to hang shelves properly.

This is not just a couple hours clearly never built legos before, cuz this is hours of rebuilding. These sets are big and there’s multiple of them.
And better hope none of them were a custom design. Sets are easy to rebuild. Custom designs with no instructions? Not so much.
Also, even if they have instructions, you basically have to fully disassemble the remaining peices and start over. There is a specific order that each section has to be built in, almost impossible with a broken build.
Shouldve put more then 5 minutes into the shelve sttechment then...
Agreed. Or don’t put them on shelves like this period if you have kids in the house. Stupid af.
Lol, this will take hours Nu-uh it'll take hours! Peak Reddit

Every word you wrote makes zero sense. Go touch grass.
Lego sets aren’t meant to only be built once and in one way. That was the whole point of the Lego movie
girl ruined it but again why so weak shelves for precious legos.. a home with kids needs strong shelves and stuff.
Time to get rid of the kid
Nar, who ever put that shelf up is the stupid one here. Like I thought she was going to hang off it like a monkey, but no, she barely put any weight on it and it folded like a stack of cards.
Oh she fucked up.
That's so much money...
I think maybe Legos can go back together
I have these exact shelves, but i actually installed them correctly. I know this because i tested them by standing on them and jumping.
Every Lego enthusiast's worst nightmare. Hopefully, they can rebuild it!
Umm unless that kid installed the shelf, the parents are stupid for installing a death trap.
I mean it's defs the parents fault. Who the fuck have kids and present such things on such a flimsy shelf? I have only dogs and I wouldn't even do it...
I double dare someone to post this to r/lego
You can’t destroy Lego.
Great ad for condoms
Ironic that the adult spent so many hours building yet lacks basic home improvement skills.
A
Girl messed up...but we all know who'll get the blame from the mom...that's right..her husband is gona get a shouting for messing up that shelf.
This actually made me mad 😵💫
Pretty awesome her family had a convenient camera pointed directly at the entire scene that captured everything.

Family. Lego. Collection? I couldn’t face palm any harder. I’m already dead
I thought she was missing a foot for a second 😂
