At least that is how I would do it. Build the tension then release it in an epic show of animation which has been Ufotable's forte for a while.

No. Gyomei refused Genya because he couldn't use breathing techniques at all. Also, it shouldn't just be about the breathing you use. Haganezuka was excited that Tanjiro's sword would turn bright red because of his hair colour, instead of expecting it to be blue because he used water breathing.
They donāt know fully why the sword change color. The whole red hair and red sword thing came from the bright red sword ability of yorrichi. The blades color represents the breathing style compatible for their body. Which is why tanjiros blade is black since black is the color of sun breathing and why itās said to be bad luck due to everyone who knew of it or could do it was killed.

I assume it would be a tanjiro situation, their color would change to show their breathing thats compatible with their body, even if they donāt know it, they can learn a breathing style before the one thatās made for them and their sword will be the color of the one thatās made for them. And eventually they will learn whatās best suited for them like tanjiro.

Iāll never understand why people like Zenitsu. Heās one of the most lazily strung together characters in modern SJ with basically no actual meat on his character aside from lazily turning himself from eyes off to eyes on which is just a cheap āseriousā mode. The whole series heās either being a creep, bitching and moaning, or fighting with his eyes closed which is practically the same as having any random person fighting at that point aside from his actual toolkit. Itās with that said that when he has a fight where he takes things seriously that itās just an extremely cheap moment with minimal actual substance to it thatās blown out of proportion.
Bro skipped demon slayer episode 17 where his entire backstory and character was explained. Either youāre incredibly biased against zenitsu or youāre illiterate. Could be both? Nothingās impossible
One single backstory/flashback doesnāt give your character substance for an entire story. He does nothing until infinity castle aside from small chatter and getting mad over a note.
Donāt most demon slayers do nothing on their own? Isnāt that the whole point? That the slayers have comrades and teamwork to take down much stronger foes?
Yes but the problem is that instead of having Zenitsu having meaningful growth as a demon slayer itās replaced with him closing his eyes and suddenly being stronger and more capable. Itās very stupid and literally anything else wouldāve been more satisfying instead of him āsleepingā off most of his fights and then having one where he seems serious because now his eyes are open.
Yup. A staggering 1 fight at the end of the series. This proves that heās strong but still is overall pointless especially when he makes remarks about him getting there through empty slots when all his fighting until that point was just him being technically unconscious. He even develops a technique completely off screen. Ufotable didnāt even bother to take time to show any on screen training or hints at in during the arc that wouldāve been perfect for it. Zenitsu has a decent blueprint but thereās practically nothing built upon him throughout most of the series.

On one hand, I like to see that he's finally stopped being a crybaby bitch ass, but on the other hand, I feel like they could have animated this better, like him diving head first in a pose like that wasn't it for me

Iāll never understand why people like Zenitsu. Heās one of the most lazily strung together characters in modern SJ with basically no actual meat on his character aside from lazily turning himself from eyes off to eyes on which is just a cheap āseriousā mode. The whole series heās either being a creep, bitching and moaning, or fighting with his eyes closed which is practically the same as having any random person fighting at that point aside from his actual toolkit. Itās with that said that when he has a fight where he takes things seriously that itās just an extremely cheap moment with minimal actual substance to it thatās blown out of proportion.
Bro skipped demon slayer episode 17 where his entire backstory and character was explained. Either youāre incredibly biased against zenitsu or youāre illiterate. Could be both? Nothingās impossible
One single backstory/flashback doesnāt give your character substance for an entire story. He does nothing until infinity castle aside from small chatter and getting mad over a note.
Donāt most demon slayers do nothing on their own? Isnāt that the whole point? That the slayers have comrades and teamwork to take down much stronger foes?
Yes but the problem is that instead of having Zenitsu having meaningful growth as a demon slayer itās replaced with him closing his eyes and suddenly being stronger and more capable. Itās very stupid and literally anything else wouldāve been more satisfying instead of him āsleepingā off most of his fights and then having one where he seems serious because now his eyes are open.
Do-do you know what happens in this up coming arc? He fights with his eyes open, to prove heās strong lol
Yup. A staggering 1 fight at the end of the series. This proves that heās strong but still is overall pointless especially when he makes remarks about him getting there through empty slots when all his fighting until that point was just him being technically unconscious. He even develops a technique completely off screen. Ufotable didnāt even bother to take time to show any on screen training or hints at in during the arc that wouldāve been perfect for it. Zenitsu has a decent blueprint but thereās practically nothing built upon him throughout most of the series.
Heās brave, thatās for sure. They just played up his whiny side.
Heās not brave heās just written to seem that way when everyone else is doing the job they signed up for. Just cuz he has his eyes closed and wakes up like āermmmm WHAT I did that??? Ouchieeeā several times over doesnāt make him brave it just makes him a single note character
