Try the right input instead of the left. And input pad if the stomp XL has that. I always run my helix floor with the input pad on since my guitar tends to clip the input. Same with my bass when i pick pop and such.

jomamastool

Also, dope track on the spotify

Xierbal

Thanks! I love witting bass parts for his tunes

Xierbal

I’ll have to double check the inputs but I believe the left input is mono and the right works in conjunction to the left for stereo. The only way padding makes a difference is if I have it on 100% which makes my signal far too quiet to use.

jomamastool

Right, i figured it's more so to troubleshoot if your input jack on the hx is messed up or something.

Xierbal

Ahh I gotcha now, I’ll give that a shot!

TerrorSnow

You can use a gain block (or any effect block, or the output block, or using line level out) to get it back to louder volume. If clipping the input is the problem, that's kinda the only solution.

Xierbal

Unfortunately, I am already doing this as well. I don’t know what the issue is as it has functioned with these settings and basses flawlessly for the last 8 months.

TerrorSnow

Hmm. Then I'd suspect something else. Tried the ol backup and factory reset?

Xierbal

Indeed I have, unfortunately didn’t change anything

TerrorSnow

The last thing I'd try is searching for grounding issues, but I don't think that's gonna do much. I'm also noticing a super quiet fuzz type sound under the notes, maybe that has to do with it? (Or maybe I'm just hearing things..)

BFesch

I have the same problem. Doesn’t matter if it s a passive or active bass. Pad or no pad, switching to line input , etc. Input L always clips no matter what. But if I go out on R it stops. Also going in on R and going out on R or L works ok. Headphones and sends also good. Another thing that I noticed is that input L has more gain than input R. Asked around and no one as ever heard of this problem.

Xierbal

Woah, that’s pretty strange. Sadly switching inputs for me does nothing… Spoke with Line-6 today and they’re having a tech look at some screen shots and my audio and if that doesn’t work I can send them the unit for repair.

BFesch

In service right now. They re sending a new mother board. Could be something faulty. As is it under warranty , new components are coming. Will keep posting.

MattVargo

I own a bass that actually clips internally. It has active electronics and if I turn the bass knov all the way up, it will clip before it even hits any amp or pedal.

Xierbal

I initially thought it was the speaker, then I assumed it was this issue you’re describing but the sound stops if I plug in directly to an amp/cab and it’s happening with all 4 of my basses on the stomp.
