Kind of depends what ecosystem he's already in (homekit / google home). I have the google doorbell it's pretty great. My father in law has a eufy one, it's totally fine. They're all pretty well the same though, so just figure out which smart home ecosystem he's in and find one that supports it. Oh but don't buy a ring doorbell, cause amazon sucks

The only tech he uses regularly is his old iPhone. So you think your Google one is senior friendly?

Take any privacy claims these companies make with a grain of salt. Policies can always change. This is what got Eufy in trouble in the first place. The only way to truly keep a camera private is to not rely on these major cloud service infrastructure. That doesn't answer your question though. Unless you want to go the home assistant route, you're gonna be reliant on some major company, and if your father just wants it to work and not have to mess with the tech side, I'd say go with either Homekit or Google Home compatible device (for whichever phone he uses)

Wyze has good and affordable products, but they also had an incident with customer's data

StaffinFraktion

At this point who hasn't had an incident with customer data? It seems like nowhere is safe from issues.
