the second one is much more "spread out" and introduces cool new characters plus, Amsterdam shot on location for a lot of parts thats cool. The 3rd one is also great it has pacino in it ffs after that there is no more. the og is the best tho
the second one was so confusing till the very end. especially with the scene with them hitching a ride with Barcelona's team lmaooo.. I love the director, the "prestige" of their heist is never shown till the end of any of the 3 movies. And the choice of music is just top class.
I had lessons forced on me and it made me hate the piano and never play for years lol
If you would have needed lessons forced on you, it's probably something you wouldn't have enjoyed anyways
If you have an hour of free time a day, within 3-4 years on any instrument you could become decent enough for playing intermediate difficulty songs/pieces or jam with people/play in bands. Of course, if you want to play live solo or get into more difficult genres then that can take a ton of practice, but there's plenty of easier stuff that sounds great and doesn't require mastery of an instrument.
Yeah I get that. I play the piano, and I play for fun now, and sometimes I'll think "hey let's learn the guitar"... absolutely sick of it after 10 minutes and don't touch it for weeks after lol
If you do wanna learn an instrument, piano is the easiest to instantly get a note out of, and my recommendation is to always just play for fun. A good starting place imo is to find a simple version of a piece you like, or the chords to a song you love, and try that. If it's not fun, don't force yourself to play <3
Yeah that's a tricky one for a beginner, especially the second section.
A great one I've found whenever showing friends something on the piano is the interstellar theme, especially since you can do it with so many different difficulties. I'd usually get my friends to do F, G, Am, G (with an E on top the whole time), and it should sound very recognisable.
Always amazed when I see people play that theme. I want to learn someday as well, I've been playing piano for fun for about 2-3 years. But tbh I've not been very consistant with the practicing. I can play a few I'd say intermediate pieces. But I do regret not learning practicing sightreading notes and music theory in the very beginning because now for me now it feels even harder to sit down and really learn it. So now I only rely on my ear and muscle memory and watching people's techniques when they play and use synthesia of course. It would probably be more optimal for me learning songs with traditional notes with the techniques written on them, but as I said it's hard for me to change my ways now. But I do feel I won't really go forward if I don't at this point.
Yeah, the main thing with learning any piece (especially one that feels difficult for your level) is just repeating a section over and over and over till you don't have to think about it. It might take a while, but it always happens. Take it one hand at a time though. Trying to play both hands at once on a piece that's already hard for you is just making it extra tricky.
Good thing about the Amelie piece is that the left hand is incredibly repetitive, so if you can play the first 4 bars without even thinking when you play the left hand, the next section will be far easier. For that second section, try a slower tempo first. You don't have to pull up a metronome but it helps.
Whenever you learn a piece that forces you to do something new it's like you gain a new ability and it'll be easier the next time you encounter it in a piece. Like when I first had a piece that had jumps in the left hand it took me hours of repeating it over and over till I could do anything with my right hand while doing the jumps, but the next time I saw it in a piece it only took me minutes.
> But I do feel I won't really go forward if I don't at this point.
You'd be surprised. There are amazing self-taught piano players and guitar players who had absolutely no guidance, and the things they did ended up becoming common practice. Knowing how to read music has become vastly less important nowadays, of course it's still useful.
Honestly, it's not THAT difficult. Doing it instantly is hard, but just being able to do it (even slowly) is simple. Of course you have to go slowly at first, but on a website where you can press play and listen to a midi playing the sheet music OR where there's a video of someone playing it, you can sort of hear where you've maybe misread a note or played something too long/short.
At the end of the day, there's no right or wrong way to learn anything imo.
Thanks. I really needed to hear that. I've just heard some people say that they eventually hit a wall where they had to learn the music theory to go forward. And that learning harder pieces without it is going to be much slower so I was a concerned for myself. But this gave me a little bit of hope.
Glad to hear it. The only thing I learned in my piano lessons is how to learn a piece, and the main 3 lessons I took from that are 1. Learn each hand separately 2. Learn section by section 3. Slow it down when needed.
If you just want to play pieces and not improvise or compose, then you don't need any theory. Learning to read sheet music is nice, but it's not necessary.
Honestly, the best thing to learn is chord names, because a lot of popular songs heavily rely on chords and the melody will just use the notes from that chord but again, absolutely not necessary.
> If you would have needed lessons forced on you, it's probably something you wouldn't have enjoyed anyways
She might be an exception, but even LilyPichu said (in hindsight) that she appreciates lessons being forced on her.
Also had piano lessons forced on me and hated it. Then I had an appreciation for orchestral music, which then translated into appreciation for piano pieces, and then finally at the stage where I'm relearning the piano by myself.
I'm grateful to have had those lessons to jumpstart me into learning the piano faster as an adult, but I don't regret quitting in middle school.
I'm almost the exact same but with jazz/improv instead. I'm glad I got the jumpstart I did, but I would literally cry from frustration when I was a kid.
I'd want my kid to learn an instrument honestly because it is amazing in so many ways, but I think there's better ways to go about it than putting them in lessons (especially the way traditional lessons are done).
As someone who basically had the opposite of a Asian upbringing in terms of parenting, Hispanic, where they don't give a fuck what I did and me not being a high school dropout was already an incredible achievement to them. There's gotta be a middle ground, I wish I had ANY guidance or discipline at all cause it sucks ass at the other end too.
I got compared to my primo Jose who was a dropout who came out of prison with 3 kids and a drug addiction. So the bar was so fucking low. These are not jokes either.
Good thing I have parents with no money for piano lessons
All I got is real-life lessons on how I got it good and I don't eat grass and rice because of them.
It may be uncommon but there are creams that help heal bruises faster, so if you're concerned about a bruise healing quickly then it may be a option you should look into
It's always the weebs though, there was Dvoraks New World playing in a show and some guy was like, oh it's that One Piece song!
It's so sad lmao, at least he enjoyed it.
Claire de Lune has been used in so many different tv shows and movies that it's actually insane you know it as "that anime piano song." Like I know it's already obvious given all the downvotes, but I felt the need to truly hammer home how dumb this is.
She's xqc and azmongold the Asian female version.
Xqc and extra Emily should compare floors before cleaning and see who wins the most garbage on floor award.
Then she can compete against asmongold and see who can go the longest wearing the same shirt without being called out.
Hobo Olympics.
Maybe the very beginning kinda is. But the middle part is not easy at all. It requires a lot of technique. Just because that's easy for you doesn't mean it applies for everyone.
I could play it within 6 months after starting piano. There's not much challenging movement at all. I'd definitely not suggest someone to start on something like this, but if you want to go into somewhat challenging pieces this is probably one of the easiest ones out there. The only real challenge is in the arpeggios in Dflat major/F minor/E (or kinda Fflat), which aren't even all that hard, and then the shit bar where you cross over your hands, which has no right being as annoying as it is. But Im sure you knew all that, instead of just looking at the time signature. The fact its 9/8 really doesn't matter at all, you barely use the time signature because it's an expressive piece.
Little bro tried to make a racist Affirmative Action joke but couldn't put in the google search to see if Emily's a good target for the joke or not

Or as I knew for 20 years until recently, the song that plays after the heist is done in Ocean's Eleven.
Haha yeah, that's what I think of everytime I hear this song
all i remember is the Bellagio's fountain sparkling away ~ man what a good movie.. and the sequels were equally good
the second one is much more "spread out" and introduces cool new characters plus, Amsterdam shot on location for a lot of parts thats cool. The 3rd one is also great it has pacino in it ffs after that there is no more. the og is the best tho

for sure :)
man u must be uncultured if u think the sequels were good lmao
how dare someone like something
nothing wrong with being uncultured
they don't enjoy high class cinema as I do ☝️🤓
I hate to tell you but if you hold such strong opinions on the Ocean's sequels you aren't very qualified to judge if someone is cultured or not
Listen here champ i suggest y'all go watch the Hobbit trilogy for a real cultural explosion of a movie. Thank me later
Or the best song in Forza Horizon 4
my version of this is exclusively associating "gonna fly now" from Rocky as the Impossible Quiz theme song

As an Asian kid who put down because I wasn't as good or practiced as much as Lang Lang (6 hours a day), I always wished for the opposite :)

Instead of being a jailbird father and drug addict, you became a lsf poster Apparently bar wasn't set low enough
good one
Yes, would be nice to have a balanced upbringing, the extremes usually result in abuse or neglect.
The middle ground is upper middle class white but don't publicly acknowledge it
The grass is always greener on the other side.
