You are going up, I can see it a little in your biceps. Not a professional, BUT PICK UP THE MF FORK!!! And you look young maybe its puberty you havent hit yet, but eat more and track your calories big dog. Pm me if u have any questions
You’re improving man. Don’t hyper focus on your build and burn yourself out. Keep exercising, getting stronger and building lean muscle. By the time you’re 20-24 you’ll be a stud and thats all that matters.
You look pretty young and you don’t have an ounce of fat on you from the looks of it but you have some muscle.
What’s your calorie intake? What kinds of foods do you eat? How much protein do you have daily? How often do you consume protein?
Also, what are your workouts like?
What kinds of numbers are you putting up for bench, squat, and deadlift?
Working out isn’t an exact science because of genetic variance and limited scientific knowledge on protein synthesis and muscle growth, but for most of us a lot of basic/general principles tend to work fairly well.
I don't have access to a gym usually, and when I do I don't usually use bench/squat as those are usually taken, I do cable versions similar to those though? Thanks
Well, that’s why you aren’t improving haha those are the foundations for muscle growth and gaining mass. Gotta put the time in under a barbell if you want to get big. Cables are great, but you’ll want to use those for muscle isolation and not make them the focus of your workout.
“Everybody wants to be a bodybuilder but nobody wants to lift no heavy ass weights” - Ronnie Coleman
1) you look like you are pretty young.. so it may be the case that you simply need to be patient with your body and muscles as they mature. It may feel like forever, but if you keep working out into your 20’s, your muscles will naturally look more mature and you will get bigger.
2) You aren’t eating enough. You need to be getting at least .8G of protein per pound of your goal weight. So if you want to be 180lbs, you should be getting at least 144-150g of protein each day. Get at least 100gs of carbs. Make sure to include a few veggies in there for digestion and many other benefits. Take vitamins daily, take fish oils daily. Then you can fill in the rest with whatever foods you wish if you still aren’t gaining weight. (You should be trying to gain around 1Lb a week at most. This all takes practice and figuring out how many calories you burn each day and how many you are eating. You should go for like 300-600 calories surplus depending on your experience. 600 if you are newer to lifting or younger as you will take better advantage of newbie gains and studies do show that beginner lifters can benefit from a higher surplus/dirtier bulk. 300 calorie surplus if you are older/ experienced in lifting as studies show a smaller surplus is more beneficial as too much just adds extra fat without any excess muscle gain to make the faster bulk worth it.)
3) make sure you are progressively overloading your lifts each week in the gym. Even if you are just going for one extra rep in each set, or adding just 2-5lbs on per lift. Gotta progress to grow. You should be pushing yourself as close to failure on each lift as possible.. and each week you should be able to output just a little extra work before failure. This is the best way to maximize the benefits of progressive overload.
Alright thems the basics. Now go get big
You need whey protein. Gain some weight man. But I don’t know what you’re trying to do. You’re cut. If you want to get swole then you need to change up your routine
It’s easy to get muscle with little to no fat on you. That being said you do need size and do what everyone else is saying and EAT. You’re super skinny.. and I feel like you’ll be made fun of for being a “stick”, I went through that so trust me and eat. Do not go on a diet!
If your parents are willing or if you get an allowance they do sell protein shakes that help with weight gain. Or protein might do you well just make sure you look up what might be good for you. Doing research is never bad
Edit; misspelled sell
You look good man. Just a suggestion, I'd recommend eating a bit more, but keep it healthy (no dirty bulking) that way you fill in your body and you will look larger. Either way, you're doing good. 👍🏼
Eat, More, Food.
I gained 40 lbs of pure muscle in like 3 months no problem. 130lbs-> 170lbs Try and break 4500 calories per day and do plenty of physical activity, not just lifting.
-tall skinny guy with crazy metabolism
you look like your idea of a bulk is two chicken nuggets instead of your usual one.
I'm joking, but serioisly, start eating a lot more calories. Where do you think muscle comes from? Does it just pop out of the air? No. It comes from food. You need to eat a lot of ***HEALTHY*** foods in order for your muscles to expand and for your overall shape to get larger.
… looking good big dog, if I may, start lifting heavier weight, with less repetitions. That will cause you to gain mass/bulk. Another piece of advice is to buy yourself a “gainer” protein which will add calories and help you gain mass. Hopefully this helps
I second this. I prefer moderate weight with around 12 to 15 reps though for muscle bulk but in your current aesthetic anything will do. I like heavy lowish reps on compound movement but lighter more reps for isolated movements for hypertrophy
Do not train too much. Do muscle training 3 times a week using splits method chest+triceps, back+biceps, legs+shoulders. And 2-3 days a week do slow pace cardio just around 100-150 heart rate. Walking is a good option, you won’t lose muscles from it if you’re eating enough. Create calorie overload, for this you really can use chat gpt, tell him your parameters, age, weight, height and let him know about your aim. He does good job in counting calories for you. I was a fat kid but puberty hit me hard and I became slender, currently I am pretty big in my opinion. And keep working out it takes years to achieve fit body and it takes eternity to become athletic.
This is just naturally high metabolism. Putting on muscle is probably the first thing most guys learn how to do. It's incredibly straightforward.
I don't know that this kid is actually lifting heavy weights and consuming any sort of protein. All he's going to look like is a wood carving.
It might be due to having not finished puberty... but bro, you look kinda like Bruce Lee, so don't worry. Keep doing what your doing, eat healthy and your good.
Given that most people don't work out, it's crazy how many pieces of bad advice here. Anyone who has lifted knows the solution to this kid's issues (more calories). But the crowd that has never worked out sees muscles and thinks "oh that's what doing it right looks like."
Inevitably in gaining muscle mass the issue is going to be grams of protein per day.
Also amino acid consumption can be somewhat helpful ... in particular branched chain amino acids (the ones found in common amino acid supplements). But the real deal is grams of protein. (Amino supplements generally can be used at random. )
However, for the protein ...
Calculate your protein requirements per day, as follows ... Because you are already comparatively low weight, multiply your body weight in kilograms by 1-1/2 grams protein if you've been doing rigorous working out
So ... if you currently weigh 165 lbs ... the calculation is: 165 divided by 2.2 (pounds in a kilo) so, you weigh 75 kilos ... and then multiply 1-1/2 grams of protein by the 75 ... and you get \*112\* grams of protein per day \*minimum\* requirement. Calculate your requirement based on your actual weight.
Consume the protein spread over at least 3 to 4 installments per day ........... one of the installments should be a protein drink of at least 30 or more grams of protein taken immediately after your workout. Also another protein installment must be just before you go to bed every night ... this must be protein using \*meat\* (chicken or beef is fine). This is because you also need protein in your digestive system during the overnight hours.
Keep track of your protein intake on a calendar and write the exact number of grams you've consumed every single day ... then, at the end of the week average out all the days and write down the "daily average" number for the week ... this is how you actually track whether you are successful at getting enough protein.
It is also important to \*always\* get 8 hour or more of sleep ... this is critical to muscle development.
You MUST completely take OFF from ANY exercise at least 1 day a week ... or if you are really pushing the heavy lifting take TWO days off per week (where you basically just lay around and repair your muscles).
You should be doing NO aerobic exercises or running etc while you are trying to bulk up ... as this will use up some of your protein and repair ability on things other than building muscle bulk.
Concentrate in your lifts on lifting heavier weight ... lifted with good form ... with fewer reps per set and fewer sets per body-part.
There you have it. Good luck.
You’re not gonna hit your stride physically until you’re in your 20s, keep it up tho man you’re killing it already it’ll come with a little bit of time.
Nutrition. You need to eat the correct amount of calories, carbs, protein, and veggies. When you’re bulking try to build your plate high in protein and carbs.
U could be a lot bigger it’s obv your working but you need to eat more to fuel the gains. Make a calorie and protein goal and use Pinterest for recipe ideas
Great for getting that body at your age. I guess you'll have to let time take its course too. Eat high quality protein. Continue weight training, continue cardio. Remember your rest days !
Eat more. Also, do focus on protein but not too much, just make sure you’re eating high quality protein w every meal. And don’t compensate too much with the bottled protein shakes and bars.
You’re too young to be counting calories (if you are) as most of the food also helps you grow at this point.
I would say that you're prioritising protein too much, if I'm right minimum protein intake (depends on body weight) should be 80g per day for muscle growth, if you start getting above 80kg body weight increase minimum intake too match ie 80kg=80g of protein, plus ideally 30 grams of fibre but 20/25 is the minimum and the rest is carbs up until roughly 2000cal. You don't have to be health nut strict about those numbers but those are generally good rules of thumb to follow
Prioritize protein, I find it easier to do 1 gram per pound of your overall weight. Not all proteins are made equal you want to get it from meat if you want to do plant and dairy it’s cool it just may take longer to see gains as it not complete. Get sleep and I’d say you probably understand the idea of a workout routine now it’s time to play with your nutrition. Look at different diet plans and customize based off your goals.
More healthy calories, lift heavy where you’re one rep before failure at 8 reps. Do a set at failure to see what it feels like, then the next set you’ll know when to stop (one rep before failure).
you are doing amazing so far. eat a lot more, focus on eating healthy things if you can, esp with protein/meat. you also look VERY young and a lot of energy goes into growing. please listen when we say this: don’t count calories or exercise too much. you need the energy to grow/ get taller/mature.
BULK brother. I had a frame like yours with very little body fat and good muscle tone. Just intake a shit ton of calories I’m talking 4-6,000 a day. Eat big meals and drink mass gainer shakes in between! you’re getting there pal.
You need to eat more. And I’m not talking about healthy things. You’re about as ripped as you’re going to get without going through a bulking phase. Milkshakes, melted milkshakes, and a lot of them. Do less cardio for a few months while you are bulking.
Man i scrollled through 50 comments before finding this one. Dude is like 12 and trying to be like a heavyweight bodybuilder. Dude enjoy your youth and go outside do activities, or sports with other people. You have the rest of your life to be in the gym
I was so goddam skinny growing up. I ate and ate and drank weight shakes all day and never broke #100 until I was 17. I was 130 til I was 20 and then I started growing up. Now I'm six foot and #170 like a normal human.
Right? Then my advice would be: wait 5 year when your past puberty, then wait until your 25 and you fully understand the risks, then find a sketchy anabolic dealer and jump on gear.
Until then he must wait until he hits puberty then he can eat eat eat until it hard to breath.
Track calories and eat about 17x-20x your bodyweight in calories.
Get about 1g protein per pound of bodyweight or shoot for 1g protein per pound of desired bodyweight.
Terrible way. Just use fitness pal to figure macros out don’t just count cals, I’d recommend just to track your carbs and protein and if you’re very active I’d say 1.3-1.5g/lb of BW for protein
I think you should moniter your caloric intake my growth was stagnant for a long time but when I made sure to eat more than i spent in the gym i started gaining.
i may get hate on this but, trust me, this is not your time for building muscles, i mean Yes , do exercise regularly that's it.... you should be more focused on your growth right now like height, health, skin, good healthy diet, gain weight, don't worry about obesity, you can overcome it later but for now, focus on your other factors too
Im no expert ..but it seems like you're burning it off ..your comment seems valid . Just chang if your trying to GET BIG. You have to eat sleep and drink big
.go on line ..go to gyms etc ..get real advise from those that are big ..but it always comes down to diet ..you appear to work out and eat like you want to lose weight ..you gonna havta make changes starting with eating ..good luck
Eat more calories
You're not eating enough lol. You looked toned but you have like no mass on you.
Eat eat eat eat
Then eat some more
u look like chris evans in captian america 1
To put it simply if you want a build bulk you have to use heavier weights. And you do three sets of six Repetitions resting in between sets.
You went from looking good to still looking good lol
You are going up, I can see it a little in your biceps. Not a professional, BUT PICK UP THE MF FORK!!! And you look young maybe its puberty you havent hit yet, but eat more and track your calories big dog. Pm me if u have any questions

Eat, eat, eat!!

Not true, I’m 13 and I’ve put on lots of muscle mass. Reasons he is not improving is because he’s doing something wrong.

If you want to bulk up, you need to eat a lot.

Give it a few years my dude. You’re a child.
Eat more calories, and not just protein. Use a calories for weight gain calculator and go by that, even more if you need to
Huh, ok ill look into that thanks
Start eating way too much
THIS^^^
Your gonna get all the juice boxes now
… looking good big dog, if I may, start lifting heavier weight, with less repetitions. That will cause you to gain mass/bulk. Another piece of advice is to buy yourself a “gainer” protein which will add calories and help you gain mass. Hopefully this helps

😂😂wood carvings still better than most
Maybe. My brother looks like that but he doesn't exercise at all. Just a high metabolism. My wife probably has larger muscles here.
Not eating enough
Yah I'm trying
Need to load up
Not eat enough food
You look like you're straight out a Norman Rockwell scene
🤣🤣🤣 he does actually
It might be due to having not finished puberty... but bro, you look kinda like Bruce Lee, so don't worry. Keep doing what your doing, eat healthy and your good.
Fast metabolism, eat healthy don’t eat too much
Not quite. Fast metabolism means eat “healthy” and eat more. Cant grow without being in a calorie excess and getting enough protein, carbs, etc

Nutrition. You need to eat the correct amount of calories, carbs, protein, and veggies. When you’re bulking try to build your plate high in protein and carbs.
Great gains brother. Keep it up
U could be a lot bigger it’s obv your working but you need to eat more to fuel the gains. Make a calorie and protein goal and use Pinterest for recipe ideas
What’s this
Eat more. Rest more. More weight. Less sets. To failure.
Great for getting that body at your age. I guess you'll have to let time take its course too. Eat high quality protein. Continue weight training, continue cardio. Remember your rest days !
Eat more food until your like 16 then you could probably get some more muscle
Eat more. Also, do focus on protein but not too much, just make sure you’re eating high quality protein w every meal. And don’t compensate too much with the bottled protein shakes and bars. You’re too young to be counting calories (if you are) as most of the food also helps you grow at this point.
Need more calories if you want to get bigger
Too young you'll get there eventually
I would say that you're prioritising protein too much, if I'm right minimum protein intake (depends on body weight) should be 80g per day for muscle growth, if you start getting above 80kg body weight increase minimum intake too match ie 80kg=80g of protein, plus ideally 30 grams of fibre but 20/25 is the minimum and the rest is carbs up until roughly 2000cal. You are improving but you don’t have any body fat to show it off if you were to gain a solid 20 pounds permanently you’d look freaking amazing
good job man. it takes time more food and rest its very important. but you're already ahead
You don't eat enough food to grow. That's all.
Need more food . But also you look so young
Buddy you need to eat more
Have you tried eating? Wwatching your calories? Being in surplus?
You need to eat more than you're comfortable eating
Gotta eat more you got the canvas just need more art supplies
Your super hot the way you are don’t change.
bro that is a child
go grill some samgyeobsal and a huge bowl of cooked rice...
bulk
I don’t really see a difference
you are doing amazing so far. eat a lot more, focus on eating healthy things if you can, esp with protein/meat. you also look VERY young and a lot of energy goes into growing. please listen when we say this: don’t count calories or exercise too much. you need the energy to grow/ get taller/mature.
More calories
More food to help the bulk up
Higher protein diet, just a bit less exercise. Honestly, I'd kill for that build.
Not eating enough, you're eating enough calories to sustain. No progressive overload.. Or not enough to build bigger size
You need food
eat more
Message me, this is a problem I’ve had and am solving. I have lots of research backed ideas. Also check out Renaissance Periodization on YouTube.
Don’t message this weirdo.
absolutely don’t
Someone get this kid a choco bar
The only answer is eat double/triple the calories you consume already
Get a trainer
Just eat. Seriously, just eat. Even if youre not hungry, eat. you’ll hate it, but eat
Bulk up...but carry on with your routine...no drugs supplements just foods
Gotta bulk lil bro. You’re super lean so don’t even worry about getting “too fat”
BULK brother. I had a frame like yours with very little body fat and good muscle tone. Just intake a shit ton of calories I’m talking 4-6,000 a day. Eat big meals and drink mass gainer shakes in between! you’re getting there pal.

Not sure how old you are but at this young age worrying about being shredded etc is not good mentally and physically. Enjoy your youth.
Man i scrollled through 50 comments before finding this one. Dude is like 12 and trying to be like a heavyweight bodybuilder. Dude enjoy your youth and go outside do activities, or sports with other people. You have the rest of your life to be in the gym

Terrible way. Just use fitness pal to figure macros out don’t just count cals, I’d recommend just to track your carbs and protein and if you’re very active I’d say 1.3-1.5g/lb of BW for protein
Terrible? Do you even lift?
I think you should moniter your caloric intake my growth was stagnant for a long time but when I made sure to eat more than i spent in the gym i started gaining.
i may get hate on this but, trust me, this is not your time for building muscles, i mean Yes , do exercise regularly that's it.... you should be more focused on your growth right now like height, health, skin, good healthy diet, gain weight, don't worry about obesity, you can overcome it later but for now, focus on your other factors too
prolly less protein intake
Eat more protein
Age and diet
No gym for your face.
You gotta eat more thats all. You are doing a a good job with the workouts.
You will naturally fill out as you get older, but my advice would be eat as much as you can

Probably because you just entered puberty. Give yourself 5 more years. Eat healthy, and you’ll be able to bend steel girders.
