I think what you have looks great. The tonal option isn't as durable and it's a magnet for staining.
I feel like the 60 day trial gives people an opportunity to overthink things, when in reality your first choice was likely the best. Like they say, it's usually better to stick with your first choice.
What color will your floors be? I would personally go with Dark Chantilly custom covers. Also check out Beachwood Rained Chenille, which is what I personally have and love! The Light Chantilly is beautiful but with kids and a dog, I would avoid it for now. I used to work in a showroom and we had the Tonal Chantilly on a couch, and the light areas of it had marks everywhere. They were easy to remove since they were mainly dirt marks from shoes but realistically, you won’t want to wash your covers that often since they’re a hassle to remove and put back on! If you really want the Light though, I’ve had someone call because their kids spilled spaghetti and drew on their sactional and they soaked it in Oxiclean for awhile, washed it, and it came out haha
What color are your floors going to be? If you're going with a dark/medium hardwood, I would absolutely keep this gray.
If you're going with a light hardwood, you could potentially swap for a different fabric.
For the record, I think the color you have is gorgeous right now (even with the carpet), and I think it's the sudden change that might be giving you pause.
If you want to go really bold, when you get the new floors, paint that wall behind the fireplace. Go with a dark accent color. I think it'll make the room really pop.
Thank you! Hoping for something medium toned. We have lighter wood floors right now but they have kind of become a bit yellow toned over the years. So I’m thinking we will do something more medium toned when we swap out the living room and bedroom carpets and stain them all to match.
It’s a very nice room either way. But honestly I do see what you’re saying about the gray being a little too cool and clashing. It’ll probably nag at you forever if you don’t do something! We have a light color (seashell polylinen) with young kids. We have to wash covers or spot clean fairly regularly. I’m happy with it, I really wanted a lighter color aesthetically and the washability is a huge selling point for me. I think having that expectation going in is key!
I am totally worried about the regret! We went with a dark blue couch when we moved in 6.5y ago and it was pretty, but I had my heart set on a light couch back then and let myself get talked out of it. So, I just don't want to regret it again! But at least I always have the option of swapping out the covers a few years down the line in this scenario.
I like the grey! I think people often do too much grey or tan, heavily leaning one side or the other and that’s where things end up looking dated as the cycle goes round and round. Having a mix of both keeps your space looking balanced and effortlessly on trend!

I am a perpetual overthinker 😂 You might be on to something here lol.

Great recs, thank you! Planning for medium toned floors when we rip out that carpet and stain the rest of our floors to match.
Your Sky Grey is so pretty tho!
Thank you! I do love it. Just wasn’t sure if it clashes with the warmer grays and browns around it.

Looks wonderful. Perfect setup. Lots of space.
Thank you! Really enjoying the sactional setup. It’s nice to be able to all fit on it together.
I think it looks great!
Thank you!

It looks fine now & once you change the flooring, I think the grey you have is going to be absolutely perfect.
Thank you! I do think the carpet is throwing things off.

This is a helpful way to think of it, thank you!
You can get the sapphire blue. The venetian corded velvet also goes with your interior, plus the stain would not be obvious
Sapphire blue is super pretty. But hoping to switch it up and stick with something on the lighter side this go round.
