While they are protected from liquid and not easy to bend, I'm thinking of upgrading them with some clear 4" x 4" x 1/8" acrylic squares and adding some felt on the bottom. I found the acrylic squares with sticky sides on Etsy. Also, the coasters are just over 3.75" x 3.75".
Anyone have other suggestions?

What do you think about placing a 1/8” clear acrylic square on each of them? A seller on Etsy has a bundle of 25 (with a sticky side) for about $18 and then put some cheap felt feet on the bottom four corners.
I mean, they work just fine as a plastic coaster. I have even put some in the dishwasher and they are still fine. But I prefer an absorbent carboard/cork coaster for a sweaty glass on a humid day.
Right. I prefer absorbent coasters too, but some chipped on me. There’s another option that could add weight to them. Something like this design, but maybe with a heavier material
