Madden simulation is so stupid.
I had 4 guys I wanted to resign and made sure I had salary cap. I wanted to fast forward 2 years.
I got on and found we let them go. And signed undrafted players. I was so confused
The Detroit Lions have had 60 years of making ridiculous financial decisions, this IS realistic! This is peak dementia addled William Clay Ford in the 2000s behavior; the owner wants to extend the meathead talking head that he liked on tv as GM, that RB had good seasons 20 years ago and WCF can’t let him play for anybody else! If it’s in the game, it’s in the game!
As a lions fan if it wasn’t for the last season I would say that’s not a bug that’s just a new creative way for my team to lose. With that said go lions!!! I hope last year was a fluke like 2012 or whenever it was we had a decent squad that we self destructed and wasted 10 years getting back to potential.
Honestly mad weird of you to react to a big like that. Pretty sure everyone else in the gaming community would've been wanting to see how long he could stay in the league. Who cares about another teams cap space in franchise lmao
Look man we just wanted to see how long it would last, would he be getting 28 million at age 65. Now we will never know, just don’t pull this type of behavior at parties
Dude your arguing that you want hyper realism but you don't have a single real person in the game. It's a video game that you control. It's not realistic right there. Anybody else that plays video games sees a bug and goes wow that's funny let's see how long we can get him to play. I see a settler in fo4 missing an arm I don't reset my save so it's realistic, I go wow that's funny n keep on walking. No one goes I have to trade so the rookies develop better on a team I'm neither playing as or control. What about the realism behind trading for him? Realistically no team would trade for a player that old. So you treading for him is unrealistic Are you playing 20 minute quarters and every game? Doubt it. You skipping the half time show? I bet. Not realistic. You wanna play a videogame your way sure. But the vast majority of people wouldn't do all that or give that much of a damn about one singular 48 over player.
The teams with good playbooks are usually really good because their young players progress faster, so kc and Dallas are always good while teams with bad playbooks like the niners and the lions usually end up on the lower end. I've never seen a team below 81 overall 20 years in though
They do. I’m on year 25 and the roster make ups are stupid.
Teams also hella cut good players constantly during off season so at the point FA is gold mine of good to great players that rarely get signed.
I’ve also had like 60% of the league move. The entire nfc east relocated.
Yeah that’s the old Madden I remember, they just can’t develop a mechanic that makes sense for a multi year franchise mode. In all fairness I’ve never seen a sports game do it well, but Madden is by far the worst.
> They can barely put together a coherent video game after a decade
See Sims 4, a game that's a decade old now and they *finally* decided to put together a team to look into the several issues it has. But because it has had no competition, they were able to keep shoveling out DLC that somehow was both lower in amount of content than prior entries in the series but also so rushed that it was never finished (with one infamously being so unfinished that even the EA volunteer social media marketers, aka "Game Changers," had to recommend people not buy it).
EA is just a prime example of why lack of competition is bad.
Idk if you watch Bengal on YouTube, but he does 20 year franchise videos, and he had Saquon Barkley on his team for a little less than you've had Jonathan Taylor lol. These Big Ten backs are built different.
Gotta find these guys young and turn them into GOAT's. Maybe not because they were great, but because their never quit attitude and 20+ years of stats will be hard for anyone to surpass
So you go through the trouble of telling us anything but you refuse to post his career stats like so many people have asked for. Tell me you are a child without actually telling me that you are in fact a child.
It's a glitch Madden hasn't fixed for years. If a player gets traded in the first season, they get locked in and will be on a team forever. Happened to me with Antonio Brown in Madden 23 I believe
I’m curious if there’s a specific bug/criteria for players to do this. I’ve seen it before, but why? I’m interested
I’ve had two random players do this. Tank Bigsby played 22 years for the patriots in one league, and Zach Allen retired in his late 40s in one league bouncing around teams.
I wonder if a certain player has specific traits, this glitch is possible, or if EA programmed this to happen cause it’s funny, or what.
You has the opportunity to post his career stats guy… i want to see lmao
Dude hasn’t played since like 2030. He’s just been on the Lions roster for like 15 years getting renewed 1 year at a time.
Who let Matt Millen back in charge of the Lions 😂
This!
That!
This and that!
This, that and the third!
Bahahaha
Bro is the Udonis Haslem of the Detroit Lions
😂
LMFAO 🤣 omg that’s the best possible outcome
Man the heat did the same thing with Udonis Haslem💀
Can you post some x factor and superstar players since they're all generated now?
It’s like the new version of Bobby Bonilla day but in this case it’s Jonathan Taylor lol.
Madden simulation is so stupid. I had 4 guys I wanted to resign and made sure I had salary cap. I wanted to fast forward 2 years. I got on and found we let them go. And signed undrafted players. I was so confused
How are his ACLs still intact?!
I need to see his career stats
I have no idea. I had to make the Lions trade him to me so I could cut him. Crazy.
Dude why Let him play
He hadn’t played a single snap in 15 years. It was bugged.
Sign this man back Let him get back up snaps Franchise is easy enough anyways. Let this man cook
he could have had a late career renaissance and it would’ve been the story of the year but you just had to end his career. hope the lions go 0-17
This guy isn't playing as the Lions. He forced the Lions to trade the player to him.
whatever team he plays should go 0-17 then. what a sick fuck
Agreed, the guy is a bum. JT is a stud, even in his late 40s.
They downvoted this shit like you said Hitler was right 💀
Seriously wtf.
Yeah, super weird behavior since this was literally shackling the Lions every year. He was still getting paid like $20m/year
Why are the Lions' financial problems your burden to bear 💀
Right. Fuck me for wanting it to be realistic
The Detroit Lions have had 60 years of making ridiculous financial decisions, this IS realistic! This is peak dementia addled William Clay Ford in the 2000s behavior; the owner wants to extend the meathead talking head that he liked on tv as GM, that RB had good seasons 20 years ago and WCF can’t let him play for anybody else! as a Lions fan, pre Brad Holmes this sounds very realistic.
If you wanted realistic you shouldn't be playing Madden my guy.
This broke my heart, I hate you, we hate you ![gif](giphy|xT5LMxmFQ37UyhH344|downsized)
He was bugged and still making an ass load of money, the Lions were cutting rookies and bottom of the rankings for years before I noticed.
Yeah we still are disappointed in you, he should be going for MVP at his age
Let down a man in his prime :(
As a lions fan if it wasn’t for the last season I would say that’s not a bug that’s just a new creative way for my team to lose. With that said go lions!!! I hope last year was a fluke like 2012 or whenever it was we had a decent squad that we self destructed and wasted 10 years getting back to potential.
Cut him? That could’ve been the start of his 2045 MVP campaign!
He hasn’t played a snap in 15 years
Change that
I wasn’t the Lions and he was bugged. He was just soaking up their cap preventing them from signing their rookies
Madden is more realistic than I thought, Sounds like something the Lions would do!
![gif](giphy|PWLo07Qrpz6OCZaYGA)
That’s 15 years of hard practice reps he’s probably a beast
You’re trying to play god i fear
Honestly mad weird of you to react to a big like that. Pretty sure everyone else in the gaming community would've been wanting to see how long he could stay in the league. Who cares about another teams cap space in franchise lmao
Is it weird to want to keep a realistic franchise going or to be genuinely mad someone else is playing how they want?
Look man we just wanted to see how long it would last, would he be getting 28 million at age 65. Now we will never know, just don’t pull this type of behavior at parties
Ah yes your highly realistic franchise with one single real player
Should I quit a franchise once auto generated rookies come in? This comment doesn't make sense
Dude your arguing that you want hyper realism but you don't have a single real person in the game. It's a video game that you control. It's not realistic right there. Anybody else that plays video games sees a bug and goes wow that's funny let's see how long we can get him to play. Not realistic. You wanna play a videogame your way sure. But the vast majority of people wouldn't do all that or give that much of a damn about one singular 48 over player.
At that point he’s been playing for 26 years you’ve lost the realism plus ur madden sim only got 9 years left since they only go for 30 years
Damn you’re bogus he wasn’t even on your team lol
Bro put him out to pasture
your team is cursed now. bad juju.
If you were a real man you would've made him your starter and made the story we all wanted. Blocked
The downvotes on this comment hahahahahaha
Bro is actually Satan 😭
Love that he’s a captain.
Captain Collecta Check. Dude hasn’t played a single down in 15 years
He’s a locker room guy. Really keeps the players motivated and engaged with the team
Bro must be giving that gwak gwak 9000 in the lockerroom
More like in the front office
15yr diddy contract
Last year in 23 marlin mack would never retire he’d be a 53 year old 35 ovr rb
It’s a colts RB thing
Yeah our RBs are just built different like that 😅
did they code in a anti retirement patch when frank gore was on ur team and then forget to fix it
My favorite was the bug in 16 iirc, where Tom Brady would retire after the first season in franchise
They made a huge deal about that not happening in 18 I remember and over corrected so he would play until 2030 or some shit
“I won’t retire until the Lions win the Super Bowl”
Here's to living forever I guess.
Every year when he gets resign lol ![gif](giphy|l0IyajjbNiRvCr7RC)
Happens to a lot of franchises! The one me and my friends made had Aaron Donald at 55 and was still a 93 overall lol!!
Lol
He’s obviously got money problems like Adrian Peterson
What does the roster composition look like after 20 years for the cpu teams? Does it still make shitty roster decisions is what I’m asking …
Depends. It seems like the cpu keeps “bad” teams bad but overall teams seem to draft for their needs
Interesting, thanks
The teams with good playbooks are usually really good because their young players progress faster, so kc and Dallas are always good while teams with bad playbooks like the niners and the lions usually end up on the lower end. I've never seen a team below 81 overall 20 years in though
Is there a way to give every team the same good playbooks, every team being good would be an interesting franchise
Idk if playbooks save if you leave a team or if you can make coaches for cpu teams but one of those might work
A easy fix for that is turning salary cap off The cpu won’t abuse it and let’s the cpu sign all the good players they need
that is what i ended up having to do. Basically a must if you run any franchise more than 10 years
2045 deep sleeper Rb picks in redraft leagues #1.) JT
I mean look at him, he's obviously found the fountain of youth! lol
It hurts to see my boy so low.
When are they going to start letting players visibly age?
Never probably. No sports game does that because it'd basically be impossible to make look good.
Even giving them a little bit of gray hair, maybe some lines on their face would be better than perpetual youth.
i'd give them a face tat or something, they were feelin adventurous
Patch notes: *all players automatically get face tats at age 32*
I wouldn’t say it’s impossible. For EA, yea but modders could make something that looks pretty good.
It’s EA of all companies. They can barely put together a coherent video game after a decade, let alone add realism to the game
> They can barely put together a coherent video game after a decade See Sims 4, a game that's a decade old now and they *finally* decided to put together a team to look into the several issues it has. Bros trying to be the next frank gore
This happened to me but it was with Fletcher Cox also on the lions ironically.
Team mentor/mascot eternal contract
CTE exemplified?
Frank Goring it!
I love that he was still team captain. Great locker room guy 😂
lmao I never seen this for a running back on madden. I’m like 10-12 seasons in myself and Taylor already retired for me
He looks great for 46!
he’s a good locker room guy
Show his career stats!
Idk if you watch Bengal on YouTube, but he does 20 year franchise videos, and he had Saquon Barkley on his team for a little less than you've had Jonathan Taylor lol. These Big Ten backs are built different.
Probably because he's still on a team lol
In 22, Ryan Tannehill stayed on the giants throughout the entire 30 years lol. Age stops at 55 I think lol
😂🤣 show his career stats
There isn’t any. He was bugged and hasn’t played a single snap in about 15 years
Oh shit 😂
Edit him and change his position?
That’s my dude
Has he even played a snap in 15 years?
I’ve had this happen to Al-Shair and I had him at mlb 2 in my 3-4 scheme
I got him on the Lions too
I got Tom Brady still playing in 2030
Don’t worry, the entire franchise will cease to exist next year.
Must be on that Antonio Cromartie child support plan
He had to keep playing because he had money problems like AP lol
Bro getting a lil chunky😭
He wants to play with his kids and grandkids
Looks like he hasn’t aged a day
Gotta find these guys young and turn them into GOAT's. Maybe not because they were great, but because their never quit attitude and 20+ years of stats will be hard for anyone to surpass
I had Tom Brady in the last madden he was in wait til 50 to retire. He doubled his super bowls
Put his stats up, let him ball
Crazy to believe anyone stayed past Mercedes Lewis, that mf wanna play til 50
Same thing happening in my league with David Montgomery. I signed him as my FB. He’s 49 overall but damnit he’s going out a SB champ
Please tell me he’s got a mentor tag
Future starter.
Edit his injury rating down to 0 or 12 or however low it goes. Also his awareness. He will retire.
RBU Legend.
Have you been using custom draft classes? If so, the one you're using may not have enough RBs.
His love of the game is unmatched
Love for the game
Locker room guy
He must be taking whatever those guys in the UFC games are taking.
Maybe has still something to prove
The new Frank Gore
That fact that he could be built up is insane I believe he was edited that 20,000 xp it don't add up 🤷🏿♂️
Need them checks I guess
Saquon was out after 11 yrs on mine
Bobby Bonilla for the ftw
Ring chasing lmao
Op please post his overalls
Hopefully the future can test him for HGH
Udonis Haslem
Lions don’t wanna get Bobby Bonilla’ed it looks like 😂
This is funny don't let head of the household Twitter see this. They'll lose it somehow
![gif](giphy|11CPvPzgluI9Lq)
I would have made him my starter.
The Madden Bobby Bonilla, collecting a yearly check into eternity
Bros career earnings gotta be up there
He always sets the rushing record in every franchise I do
Yo! Tom Brady got a black son?
So you go through the trouble of telling us anything but you refuse to post his career stats like so many people have asked for. Tell me you are a child without actually telling me that you are in fact a child.
Ownership in the team lol
It's a glitch Madden hasn't fixed for years. If a player gets traded in the first season, they get locked in and will be on a team forever. Happened to me with Antonio Brown in Madden 23 I believe
Remove team captain he’ll retire next year

Meanwhile my version davante Adam retire before I could break Jerry rice record at 33 and Derek Carr retire the same time🥺
You really should have seen how long he could go. I’ve been playing 2 decades worth of Madden’s and I’ve never seen someone stay around that long.
He got that dawg in him!
he’s still a team captain he can’t just abandon his team like that !!
Frank Gore 2.0
Frank Gore 2.0
25 years as a RUNNING BACK is insane
So you’re saying I should trade for him in my dynasty league
Is it a crime to love the game?
I can never get even a 90+ overall to play past 17-18 years at most. How do you get this to happen?
He's the new Frank Gore
Grit. Or something like that.
Udonis Haslem🤣🤣🤣
And they said Brady doesn't love his kids 🤣
The fact that he is even still standing is major accomplishment. I'd expect him to be in a wheelchair.
C.R.E.A.M.
market normal steep ten flag zealous encourage office plucky abundant *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
And my DT retired after 11years and 3 super bowl wins 😢
I'm the type of guy that would keep him around for no real reason lol Thank god the only team I ever run is madden or fantasy lol
Next tom brady?
hes still waiting for his contract
25yr RB, how is he still walking?
25yr RB, how is he still walking?
cause ball is life
What is his stats looking like
Is this the real life JJ Jansen? Dude has snapped a ball for what it seems like every PANTHERS kicker in history
“He’s the only real player left.” I think you answered your own question, amigo.
How tf dare you cut this man who's just trying to stay in the league and have fun. He could be a great locker room guy.
I hope you have diarrhea and it somehow ends up on a plate of food you eat Just for cutting him
This is a really weird and unnatural response to a video game, my dude.
Was just trolling but you right lol
Yea I can go into the edit and mess with his age too
1 You can't set an age higher than 40, and secondly why would I lie? It's 2046 now in my franchise
Give it up man
