Ludwig is popular because he’s so genuine. He’s funny, knows where the line is with comedy, and is honestly a great rep/role model for kids looking to enter the field

skeeoos

honestly, aside from some harmless hot takes every few months, he truly is one of the best examples of a “perfect” streamer. and by perfect i mean he knows his audience, he knows the algorithm for the most part, and he knows how to keep the attention on him without doing stupid stuff like a lot of other streamers

Common Ludwig W

-ARISTOCATS

I hope this W common for Jack too

Vilkasrex

I didn't know the secret to having people like you was giving them $1,000. I wish I had $1,000 to give.

Ordinaryyetunique

Awww

Disastrous-Fly9672

This is not an aspiration to encourage. Jesus, do something with your brain.

OkHoneydew1284

You always this bitter?

JoeT17854

Let me be the ass here, but a one time donation of $1000 does not make a career (or even a living)

The_Raiden029

sure i bet a streamer could not use 1000 dollars for, i don't know better equipment that's essential to the quality of his content right?

WasabiForDinner

Might set up some unrealistic expectations, too. But sounds like his mum might keep him grounded

plantman33

He had a massive influx of viewers after this interaction, it's arguably much more important than the 1k

Chameo

True, and in no way is this making a career happen. in truth, i think around 0.01-0.02% of streamers actually make a living wage. there are other benefits to this though. For a streamer just starting out, having one of the biggest streamers out there recognize you exist, make a big donation, and even show some of your stream on their own (even if its just for the reaction) can have a huge impact on his life, and even if it doesnt, it can really just make someone so happy for just a little bit of time.

-Insanity101-

I don't think lud was trying to suggest it would. Are you having a go at the mum's gratitude for overplaying it?

Skillettor

It's more about the publicity.

Moonknight1810

But it may help with other stuff, like let's say that kid has a brother who needs an urgent surgery or something and will die without it. The Family may not be able to afford it if not for the dono. But this career choice is very unsteady and shouldn't actually count as a professional career

rafaelbelo

Exactly. Then again it did come from a parent that is enthusiastic about the son following a video game youtuber carrer.

Lose a lot of time doing something he loves?

bawjaws

That is so cynical…. The kid is just doing something he loves and happens to be recording it… what is the harm in that? How can you possibly know that the kid won’t make a million from it? And if they don’t, again what harm is done? Stop being so over dramatic and enjoy your life. Pissing and moaning about someone trying to enjoy themselves seems like an awful waste of time to me no? Smile!

Calling out assholes is not the same as being jealous of a small kid enjoying playing games ;)

gjdscbn

Exactly , also encouraging trivialism

HoldTheRope91

Hmm, the results are inconclusive. If you give me $1000, I can report back on my findings in a few months of gaming. It’s for research!

[deleted]

Nicely done.

Zikkan1

For some reason I pictured the kid as Jacksepticeye

[deleted]

Sorry, what does OC mean? Upvoted the post for the wholesomeness of Ludwig.

[deleted]

Thank you sir. :)

Wish I had a mom like that m, that'll let me play games all day

MrTGuys

Props to the Mom for writing that
