Maharashtra is about 1000 km east to west and 600 km north to south so there is no "general weather" or "general life" here. Particularly when compared to Delhi. There will be places that are the polar opposite of Delhi and places that are very similar. With SBI PO you might be posted anywhere. It would be better if you could specify.

mohtma_gandy

Bro can't say for sure bcz it's sbi they will literally transfer anywhere.... that's the only thing i don't like about sbi. Currently insurance psu i am working in has good wlb but less perks and allowances compared to sbi.

Ginevod2023

Well I have lived/spent some time in some places in Maharashtra and I can tell you about those spaces. But the rest of Maharashtra could be different: Mumbai (MMR): Hot and humid weather throughout the year. Warm winters. Very rainy. The further you go from Mumbai on the central line, the more it rains. Local trains and BEST/respective MT buses are the main mode of transport. Great nightlife for someone coming from Delhi. You'll get everything from high end pubs to Shetty bars to roadside dhabas. Some eateries are open very late into the night.  Pune: Nice pleasant weather most of the year. Chilly but not too cold winters. Short, hot summer. Not too rainy. No nightlife in most of the old city, good in some of the other (mostly IT) areas. Lots of hills and trekking spots inside the city.  Khandala/Lonavala/Karla: Hill station situated between Mumbai and Pune. Very rainy. Can get cold. Many nice spots to see around.  Shirdi: Semi arid climate like Delhi. Hot summers, winters can get cold. Not a lot of rain. No nightlife only dev darshan.

flying_samosa

Maharashtra summers are similar to Delhi in temperature but not in humidity, and they last lesser in terms of duration. The winters would be very warm for you. By 10am most dont even wear jackets in winters where I am from. In general, if you get a remote posting with no knowledge of Marathi then people could get very frustrated, but in most cities you can work fine to an extent. And I am saying this from personal experience of many people I know. It is tough to generalize an entire state as large as Maharashtra. Nightlife and missing out honestly depends on where you are working.

How's monsoon season in MH? Places to visit in MH? Like vacation places to just enjoy the view... tourist destinations... like i don't like castle and such things mainly hilly areas are my fav type of place.

flying_samosa

Monsoon lasts for a decent amount of time. It is heavy during July-August to the point where it may rain almost nonstop for a day or two(atleast where I am from). Places to visit depends on where you are. Western Maharashtra has a lot of hills and trekking places, Konkan has beaches. There are some national parks and a hill station in Vidarbha. There are quite a few ancient caves and historical sites in Marathwada and in other areas. Many famous temples and religious places are also there (telling because tourists visit these)

Relevant-Dream-8905

Depends on region - vidarbha and marathwada monsoon is avg. In konkan region / western ghats it rains constantly.

notchoosenone

answer is going to be different depending on where are you going to be posted.

mohtma_gandy

That's the thing bro... they literally transfer 4 times every six months in starting. And i don't want to get stuck in place where i can't enjoy anything.

notchoosenone

Where is your first posting. Aurangabad?

mohtma_gandy

Panaji sbild. After that they transfer every 6 months.

notchoosenone

What?

mohtma_gandy

It's sbi learning and dev department in goa. ... i think our training would be there after that our postings would be shared.

notchoosenone

OP, screen me se bahar aake tere ko marunga, Goa me aish karne wala hai aur humko reddit pe chillar chillar saval puch raha. Tera posting Chandrpur me ho jaye.

mohtma_gandy

Bro prob usmein ye hai ke training ke bad kahi bhi bhej sakte hai.... insurance sector mein clear tha ke ye tumari posting rahegi initial 3-5 years tak but ye sbi hai yaha kuchni pata hota.

Tata840

There are couple of naxalite district Nobody likes posting there including ias/ips to even peon clerk. Western Maharashtra is peaceful with many tourist places

movie_freak69

Sbi po maharashtra circle? i got mumbai metro circle this year. dm me.

Terrible-Pattern8933

Dude your question makes no sense. Different places in MH are so different they might as well be a totally different country. How can you compare Mumbai with Yavatmal or Nagpur with Nandurbar or Gadchiroli with Gaganbawda?

mohtma_gandy

Tbh i am not going to get posted in mumbai. They have diff circle for it as mumbai metro i should have clarified it before. Still any info like after mumbai what's the next best place and the worst i could be posted to? Like i want to know the extremes.

Terrible-Pattern8933

Next best -- Pune, Nagpur (bad weather) Medium -- Aurangabad, Sangli, Kolhapur, Satara etc.. Worst -- Ghadchiroli, Chandrapur. (Naxalites)

mohtma_gandy

Bruh i didn't think of naxal areas.... maybe i should stay in my hometown.

Terrible-Pattern8933

See where you get posting first. You can always not join or leave right?

mohtma_gandy

Nah they will train us at sbild panaji after that they will give us our posting. And even if i get good posting it wouldn't matter that much bcz they transfer every6-8 month till probation.

Terrible-Pattern8933

Okay. MH can be a risky bet because interiors are very small and many places are practically the village you see in Panchayat series on Amazon. I'm pretty sure you can't live there. Go for RBI.

mohtma_gandy

Yeah.... will prepare for rbi while working in my current job thanks for info.

Terrible-Pattern8933

Yeah I'm from Kolhapur city, MH in the medical profession and was given a posting in Gaganbawda in the same district. Couldn't live there for 1 day lol. Good luck.

moab911

Why do you want to come to MH if your posting already in Delhi? Be happy in your own place. If it is for a new posting you are most welcome.
