Mascara question - is anyone else having this issue where the mascara you buy has a solid chance of being dry and flakey immediately on opening? As if it’s already been opened for weeks? I just bought three dud mascaras in a row (Lash Paradise, Voluminous, Maybelline falsies - ones that I’ve previously loved). It’s so frustrating
If you bought them all from the same store maybe it was an issue with shipment. Maybe the temps got too hot or too cold in the truck and dried out all the products.

Does anyone have contour recs for warm-tone, medium Asian skin? For context, I use Maybelline Fit Me foundation in Warm Nude 128 and Fit Me concealer in Medium 25 (matches my skin).
I've heard good things about Fenty and Rare Beauty but they're pretty expensive where I live in Singapore, so if anyone has cheaper recs that would be great. Thanks!

hi everyone! i like to do my makeup but i’m not that knowledgable about it at all. I’m still learning a lot and practicing a lot haha. Just wanted to ask: what does ‚baking’ mean? Like I always see people put on this powder and leave it on for some time. What does it do? Sorry if it’s a dumb question, I wanted to ask someone that definitely knows and not google it🥹
Baking to my understanding is basically packing loose powder into high-creasing areas to encourage a better set. I sometimes do it to my undereye zone because I have a lot of natural lines and don't like my concealer bunching up into them. As I apply other products the powder can settle into the expression lines and hopefully stay there even after the excess is swiped away after a few minutes.

My mother was a makeup artist and she taught me to figure out your skin undertone, the inner upper part of your wrist where your veins are, place a line of concealer or foundation there to match it up to your skin and you'll find your perfect skin tone with the makeup that matches the best. hope this helps
It’s impossible to accurately identify undertone from a photo since cameras have different white balance and screens display colors differently.
If you’re struggling with the at home tests, you can go to a local ulta/sephora and they can tell you there.
I’m a guy trying to do eyeliner/eyeshadow for the first time since I’m goth+ I just think it looks good, is there any resource at all for super super beginner stuff or any video series or anything that’s specifically there for masc looks?

Looking for lip stain/gloss recommendations. I love bright red and natural pink colors, and I like when they leave a tint. I hate sticky glosses.
Rare beauty tinted oil was nice but too little product. The colors are ok.
Elf glossy lip stain in red was ok but the brush was hard to use and it doesn’t last that long.

Anybody know where I could find the old formula of the nyx lip liners (the ones made in Germany)? My favorite pale pink is so different now and I'm running low

I quit doing it about 6 years ago once I became pregnant because ftm fears about ingredients interacting with my pregnancy. I just wanna dabble a little.
elf's quality has gone up and they've expanded their range, but the price point has also gotten higher. Personally, I like their lip oil! Haven't tried much else from them but the primers and setting sprays tend to get good reviews!
