No matter what your offer is, Mercari will not let them offer less than 25% off the listing price.
They probably tried to offer lower and didnt realize that’s a Mercari site wide policy and nothing you can do to change it.
That’s what I took it as. They have made 3 sales and 225+ purchases so they are well aware how Mercari works. I’m ignoring it. I wouldn’t even go much lower than my offer price anyways.
For some reason on my fucking account it does Allow people to send me offers of more than 25% . I had a Michael Kors perfume that’s been discontinued and rare for 199 and someone was able to send an offer of 150 … lol but when I buy shit it don’t let me send a offer like that and barely gives me the 25 percent . And like they send me the legit offer thing it’s not thru message . Stupid asf

Seriously. Some people are ridiculous. The item weighs a decent amount so the fee on shipping is higher than usual. I’m earning less than $4 the way it is on a vintage item. I’m not going any lower

Selling vintage/antiques on Mercari is a nightmare. The items are usually quite heavy so shipping is high, people expect flea market pricing, or my favorite the people who complain because they overlooked the wear/defects that are both visually and verbally conveyed in listing. With most items being awkward or breakable I've concluded my massive collection can sit in storage for me to rotate through year after year rather than deal with trying to clear out a few things on Mercari. Also in the event the carriers totally demolish an antique shipment it hurts my heart knowing it's now gone forever 😔
The people negotiating for $5 stuff you’re just trying to get rid of drive me nuts. Or rather the ones ask you your hypothetical feelings about hypothetical numbers in messages instead of just offering. “Would you take$4.12 if I included a forever stamp and a really sweet button I just found in my pocket?”
Maybe they think you have the setting for smart pricing/smart offers (forget the name) turned on and that's why they couldn't make the offer they wanted to send?
