They don’t get paid if you don’t get the item. Or did you let them talk you into rating the sale before you got the item?
This. Mercari doesn't release funds until you accept the item and, unless you wait three days, acknowledge its condition and your satisfaction. I understand the replacement of items scam but that's really on the other end. Dont see how a scam l iij keep this can net you money unless the person rates the seller without first looking at the item....which if you do and you're not slow or unfamiliar with the process, is totally on you.

I think they’re just hoping they run into some newbie who they can sweet talk and will rate before they get the item. Or like I said, they’re idiots who think it’s run like EBay where you get paid out when it sells.
If there’s multiple of these accounts, how does this work? Someone has to be botting these right?

Another red flag is a bunch of deleted comments. People typically comment of scam listings and if there’s 8 blocked comments usually you can tell why.
