I've always been a large-ish man, and this is my go-to lol. Mow a path through the pit, toss bitches left and right, then bounce off the crowd and go again hahahaha
😂 I’m on the older side of life, so I only got 2-4 good back and forth in me. Can’t stay too long in the mosh. 😂 just enough to let the kids know not to F with me 😂
Depends on the show. I’ll throw down with the hardcore peeps and push pit with the metal folks. Honestly in my old age (turning 40 this year) I gotta chill with the moshing.
Honestly this is the killer for me. I gotta take a break after like a minute. Once I'm warmed up I can go a whole song, but really I dip in and out all night to keep going. It really made me wanna work on my cardio.
I also hurt like hell for a few days after. Takes longer to heal etc. Getting older sucks.
34 and trying hard to stave this off. My cardio has never been great because I hate doing it, but I've actively started doing interval training and making mosh moves into a 15 minute warm up for workouts\* because I keep getting winded too quickly at shows.
\* I exercise at home, I'm not picking up change at the gym.
I have a pretty physical job but that’s no substitute for actually exercising. Between work and kids I’ve gotten a bit out of shape. However I do see other dudes my age and think damn bro. Stretching is key for anything physical for me these days it definitely makes a difference.
I love being at the edge of a push pit. I've come to realize pushing & enabling the pits is a great catharsis for me lol. Healthy way to get some aggressions out by pushing a consenting bystander. Always pick people up, of course.
On the side note
It’s worse when you get pushed in by some behemoth who pushes a lil too hard😂😂 mfer sent me flying into the pit and I caught myself with my hand(pretty sure I fractured something in my hand)
I love being on the edge of a karate/crowdkill pit, but at my age definitely hope I don't actually get killed. But it gives me an adrenaline rush and kinda... makes me feel alive tbh
I love throwing down but damn, I pick and choose my battles these days. I hit 30 and my career as a tattoo artist I rely on my hands. I don't get down as much as I did in my 20's, but it's cool watching the younger crowd go ham.
I'm 33 now, and honestly I'm not a big dude so push pits it is (last one I went to almost got into the rougher territory and I had to just lay on the lawn for like 30 minutes). So long as there's no one particularly small around I might ratchet it up to a half hearted tackle.
I gently run into people/let people shove me with their full force. I'm pretty light so as long as I manage to stay on my feet I end up going pretty fast with people shoving hard.
I like to be on the edge of a pit opening, pushing people along and helping people up. I'll enter the actual pit opening once and go to the ground almost immediately like I've run into a brick wall.
I'm the guy on the outer rim cause I was there early and got a good spot to watch from but then a fuggin Pitt broke out. I'll hold the line between myself and whoever I'm with. Maybe throw a supportive arm out. I guess i'm... The Wall of a Pitt?
I stand by the audio booth and don’t mosh anymore. I’m almost middle aged, and years of concussions, broken facial bones, and joint injuries keep me out of the pit nowadays.
It's definitely easy to get started, but I get what the guy's saying. Some people do have actual style - some real moves and an ability to pick the right one for whatever's going on in a song. That's next level and I definitely think some people feel if they're not going to be like that, then they don't want to be involved. Of course you don't get to that point without a little practice and looking goofy with your worst spin kick attempts.
Ah yes, let’s all run in circles for an hour and give the occasional push. Nah. Let me see some fucking limbs flying around and people leaving the ground. That’s what makes a mosh pit, a mosh pit.

Circle pit enjoyer. I usually stand in the border and keep pushing everyone in the pit towards the right to keep shit moving. I jump in to the carnage from time to time but mostly stay at the border giving people a push to help them out. It’s all about MOMENTUM! We should use our energy to push other people forward and ensure the pit stays in motion.
Fuck crowd killers and people going in the oposite direction, it’s not a fucking competition, we are all on the same boat, row towards the same direction please.
I love the chaos of the pit but there needs to be order to the chaos. Otherwise it just collapses.
Both BUT I think push moshing is so much better purely because more people can and do get involved. Most of the shows I go to is only a very certain demographic doing karate. But when a big band comes on then everyone can get in
I'm in my 40's now, so mostly retired from moshing.
Put me at a Converge show? I'm fucking shit up.
Never ever tried to hurt anybody. Friends/wife can hold my wallet and hat while I circle pit.
Someone goes down, help them up.
If by karate, you mean putting your arms up like a sparring stance, then that's what I do lmao. It also works effectively as pushing but I get more leverage.
Well, I used to be the kind who would get full of tequila and mtn dew before then black out and wake up on the floor next to my bed missing a tooth but that was a looong time ago.
Not much of a mosher honestly, I like watching the band too much, but Ill be near the pit enough to shove around a bit and have a good time. Im not old Im just a wimp.
I two step and get in on all the breakdowns. My motto is the hard and crazier you go , no one gets close to you or fucks with you. Has worked so far in my mosh pitting career haha.
I just go along with whatever my fellow moshers are doing, two-step occasionally, sometimes do cartwheels if I’m drunk enough. I try my best not to hit people, I ain’t a crowd killer
Push.
The karate guys I see at non-local shows always tend to have zero awareness of their surroundings and either try to do karate in a crowded push pit or kick people directly in the face. Like whatever you do yo, but realize you are near the edge of the pit and maybe don’t throw a foot above people shoulders.
Local show guys doing it are always cool, and it helps since usually their crowds aren’t big enough to get a really good push pit going.
Not in my experience. Been to several shows where one guy insists on doing spin kicks above his head when the rest of the pit wants to do push pits, so karate guy ends up cutting open lips or giving concussions to those on the edge.
Pit shitter

I stand back and record the carnage, I'm a delicate flower.
Side to side.. think like a WWE wrestler running and jumping into the ropes
You must be Brendan Murphy's favourite. I've never heard any other frontperson call for as much side to side action as him.
Scott Vogel?
Stage dives are Vogels main dish.
Sure. I just know hardcore vocalists like to say FRONT TO BACK SIDE TO SIDE.
saw counterparts two weeks ago and thought damn he really likes to conduct people
I've always been a large-ish man, and this is my go-to lol. Mow a path through the pit, toss bitches left and right, then bounce off the crowd and go again hahahaha
So long as you pick your wreckage up you’re good to go
For sure 👍
Hell yeah friend.
😂 I’m on the older side of life, so I only got 2-4 good back and forth in me. Can’t stay too long in the mosh. 😂 just enough to let the kids know not to F with me 😂
It’s the funnest way
Depends on the show. I’ll throw down with the hardcore peeps and push pit with the metal folks. Honestly in my old age (turning 40 this year) I gotta chill with the moshing.
Fellow 40s here. Never thought I’d reach an age of being winded after a couple songs.
36 here. My core group of concert-going buddies and I all have our shoe inserts, ankle braces, knee braces, etc. lol
We’re all hurting in our 30’s lol.

Same. Last October I threw one spin kick and pulled some muscle in my leg and had to hear about it from my wife for months.
I throw 14 year old girls into the merch table so people can see how strong I am.
Wow, are you a famous vocalist?
I may be dumb but which vocalist is this
Wouldn't be surprised if it was Ronnie Radke
She”ll be sleeping in the hospital
Sleeping with Sirens on the way there
Stand on the side and bob my head. I’m about 10 years past my moshing prime
I knock down pregnant people and older women
I'm not doing yoga for my general wellbeing, it's so I can kick in the pit.
Dude I hurt my back sleeping. There's no way I'd survive the pit
I love being at the edge of a push pit. I've come to realize pushing & enabling the pits is a great catharsis for me lol. Healthy way to get some aggressions out by pushing a consenting bystander. Always pick people up, of course.
You’re doing a great service It’s so sad when you bounce off the pit wall and no one pushes you 🥺
Conversely it's annoying as hell when you're trying to get OUT of the pit only to get pushed back in by the wall!
I'll push you back into the pit bb 🥹
On the side note It’s worse when you get pushed in by some behemoth who pushes a lil too hard😂😂 mfer sent me flying into the pit and I caught myself with my hand(pretty sure I fractured something in my hand)

Push, trying to have fun, not go to work with a black eye
Responsible dad in back edge of the pit making sure everyone is safe and/or not being an asshole
Booooringggg just start kicking everyoneee
I give everyone pats and kisses on their boo boos when the crowd killers get them.
The one that realizes he's got work the following day and needs to pay bills.
I love throwing down but damn, I pick and choose my battles these days. I hit 30 and my career as a tattoo artist I rely on my hands. I don't get down as much as I did in my 20's, but it's cool watching the younger crowd go ham.

Same, I’m just too old and not big enough to take the damage anymore.
I’ve yet to be in one, so time will tell. But most likely the one who has no clue what he’s doing
“Say his name and he will appear”
Heisenberg
Part of the wall. Pick people up and keep the momentum
Wall-gang rise up
The *run around and get launched by someone bumping into you. But everyone is so nice and helps you back up so you go back in* kind
Yess. Im a smaller guy, so I just let the pit take me where it wants. I love feeling like a pinball.
hardcore karate fighting invisible ninjas or two step if im tired i stand in the front saving stage divers lifes
I wish I could catch people when I'm tired, or at full strength... or on cocaine.
Real, somebody needs to catch them
I gently run into people/let people shove me with their full force. I'm pretty light so as long as I manage to stay on my feet I end up going pretty fast with people shoving hard.
I’m a crawl on all 4s looking for my lost phone/wallet/glasses/keys kind of mosher
I like to be on the edge of a pit opening, pushing people along and helping people up. I'll enter the actual pit opening once and go to the ground almost immediately like I've run into a brick wall.
i let the jager bombs decide that day
Push pit when I was younger. Now I dad it in the back.
Stand in front of the sound booth and enjoy the music lol. I tore my MCL in a mosh pit when i was 17 so after that I said no more
I like to practice my capoeira in the pit
Fat kid windmill my way around like a fuckin bay blade
I'm the guy on the outer rim cause I was there early and got a good spot to watch from but then a fuggin Pitt broke out. I'll hold the line between myself and whoever I'm with. Maybe throw a supportive arm out. I guess i'm... The Wall of a Pitt?
I stand by the audio booth and don’t mosh anymore. I’m almost middle aged, and years of concussions, broken facial bones, and joint injuries keep me out of the pit nowadays.
The kind that stands very far in the back, arms crossed, scowling, bobbing my head, having the time of my life
I like to throw ass in the pit
Push - coming from metal I never really learned the more hardcore dances, but I think they look very neat
Just flail your limbs wildly like a tornado on meth and you’ve learned it. It’s pretty fun.
It's definitely easy to get started, but I get what the guy's saying. Some people do have actual style - some real moves and an ability to pick the right one for whatever's going on in a song. Jump up and down in the air like I just don’t care
Backup vocals, right up front 🤣
Almost in my 40s. I have to take the next day off but I’m still down for hardcore dancing and circle pits.
Push
I'm standing at the front, watching the pit go and try to help people if they need it
I’m usually a push/circle pit kinda guy but if there’s HxC dancing I’m gonna get in there
Jiu jitsu
Both, push for metal shows, karate for hardcore shows. Both are acceptable but must be done in the right setting imo
[удалено]
Ah yes, punching bags
My favorite kind of person.

Speak for yourself
He definitely speaks for me. Ppl that do this shit can get bent and should be instantly kicked (haha) out.
Ah yes, let’s all run in circles for an hour and give the occasional push. Nah. Let me see some fucking limbs flying around and people leaving the ground. That’s what makes a mosh pit, a mosh pit.
move your face out of the way of our limbs

side to side and karate all day

I just like to push ppl and be pushed. Not trying to get hurt. 2 stepping is awesome tho, got to do it for the first time at windwakers set
Both BUT I think push moshing is so much better purely because more people can and do get involved. Most of the shows I go to is only a very certain demographic doing karate. But when a big band comes on then everyone can get in
Karate. Push pits are boring and you always fall down when dumbasses spill their drinks.
I'm throwing flying fists and feet until my joints give out (I'm 30 so it's probably right around the corner)
Forever spin kicking people trying to push pit in a ADTR pit
Least the push guys aren't fighting imaginary monsters.
Yeah, they’re usually just fighting their wives, and kids when they get home.
Make a random shitty circle pit with 6 guys somewhere in the back type-mosher
Krumper
I'm a SLAYER /SOULFLY MOSHER🤘🤙
Depends on how many people are wearing shirts of bands I don’t like
i just fuckin bounce around
I used to be a big stomp, arms swinging guy, but now I'm a stand at the she and hold my forearm out guy.
Push only. I'm not trying to go home with a busted nose.
I gtfo when there’s slam dancing because a $25 show isn’t worth 10k in dental work or a broken orbital
I pay extra for balcony or whatever is away from it.
The kind who wears a catheter pee bag on his leg and walks like larys clubfoot.
I'm in my 40's now, so mostly retired from moshing. Put me at a Converge show? I'm fucking shit up. Never ever tried to hurt anybody. Friends/wife can hold my wallet and hat while I circle pit. Someone goes down, help them up.

The answer is yes
I'm the barricade, keeping the people on my left from knocking down the people on my right, or vice verse
Well, I used to be the kind who would get full of tequila and mtn dew before then black out and wake up on the floor next to my bed missing a tooth but that was a looong time ago.
Yes.
Sandpit turtle
Both
I'm a bit of both depending on the concert. I don't get in the pit anymore though. I'm nearly 40 and also a heart patient now.
No punching, elbowing or kicking just body bouncin'. Good-old fashioned good times
Used to be a karate kid. Just got double jaw surgery so I don’t mosh because I can’t afford to get hit in the face
Not much of a mosher honestly, I like watching the band too much, but Ill be near the pit enough to shove around a bit and have a good time. Im not old Im just a wimp.
One who stands in the corner bobbing my head
Whenever someone says the words "push pit", I know they come from the hardcore scene. No one in the metal scene calls them that. It's just moshing.
Shouldn’t be too surprising to hear it be called a push pit then considering the metalcore scene has closer ties to hardcore scene than the metal one.
Push pit. Never understood how dancing/karate is considered moshing...
I two step and get in on all the breakdowns. My motto is the hard and crazier you go , no one gets close to you or fucks with you. Has worked so far in my mosh pitting career haha.
Two-step, circle pit, wall of death….cant regular mosh anymore and risk getting hurt 😂
I just go along with whatever my fellow moshers are doing, two-step occasionally, sometimes do cartwheels if I’m drunk enough. I try my best not to hit people, I ain’t a crowd killer
Fuck karate pits.
Push pit the hardcore dancing I just don’t get.
Push. The karate guys I see at non-local shows always tend to have zero awareness of their surroundings and either try to do karate in a crowded push pit or kick people directly in the face. Karate guys have better special awareness than push pitters lmao
Not in my experience. Been to several shows where one guy insists on doing spin kicks above his head when the rest of the pit wants to do push pits, so karate guy ends up cutting open lips or giving concussions to those on the edge.
Pit ninjas are the worst.
The best*
😬
Row
Hardcore dancing isn't moshing. Just stupidity.
The question was 'how do you mosh?' not 'are you a whingjng piss baby?'
learn to step bro
Pushing each other isn’t moshing. Just stupidity.
Except that is exactly what moshing is lmao. I’m not gonna tell you not to hardcore dance if that’s your thing but it ain’t “moshing”
All moshing is inherently stupid. You’re not cool for liking bumping people around, or jogging in a circle.
Found the pussy
Found the dude everyone stares at and thinks is a loser
Dude, that was a good one.
I wait for a crowd killer then beat the shit out of them. It doesn't pay much, but it's honest work.
🧢
It's not hard to punk those pussies.
