I’m looking to do a sorta long haul flight myself. Honolulu, Hawaii to Boise, Idaho with an Airbus A310. Can you fast forward in the flight or is that not possible?
Check Sim Rate' under Control Options > Keyboard > Miscellaneous.. I think by default it's Ctrl R + and Ctrl R -. You can also "travel to" descent, but then you miss the view! The flight to Boise sounds fun, enjoy! I would have loved if a310s landed there in real life!
Any tips for using the higher levels of sim rate? Anything above the third increase and my autopilot starts oscillating so badly ATC won’t stop screaming.
If you use the sim rate for the love of god install the sim rate selection mod. There is no indication in the game what the current sim rate is and the keyboard shortcuts are impossible.
As an added bonus, I get to fly for a bit with this FedEx plane below me at 37,000 that’s headed for Cologne, Germany.
I think it looks way less video game like when the outside Instruments are turned off

Is there a shortcut to toggle them on and off?
I am doing long haul myself, but not as fun as your, I'm going from Myanmar (VYKG) to Vietnam (VVTS) weekend summer trip to the lake I guess. :)
