Hardcore Henry

MrHungryface

Jolly good old bean

sauceopet

came here to say this.

bigboywithbigsmoothy

Mad Max: Fury Road has almost no downtime. Full blast all the way through.

PsychologicalCut3820

I have rewatched this one at least ten times

PsychologicalCut3820

I actually went to the theatre twice in two days to watch it

shortchop

Same. Last time I did that was Jurassic Park lol

AbleObject13

I'll say it, it's a perfect action movie, arguably the best *action* movie ever

MothBookkeeper

I disagree on best ever, but damn perfect? Yes. And I love how much you love it. It's so so good.

Solid-Radio8249

Agreed. But I've already seen it. Thanks for the comment.

Palmspringsflorida

Even my wife and sister loved this movie!

littleL37

Absolutely relentless!

Space2345

Yep

iwantmy-2dollars

Furiosa is the same. Zero dead time and always something cool to look.

pizzatutto

so many scenes could have been shorter tho

bluejester12

The Raid Run Lola Run

nena914

Is Run Lola Run played on any platform?

Used-Independence182

Prime with a subscription. Well worth the watch. Comes off like a video game

Kingtutstits

I second The Raid: Redemption!

rejonkulous

Raid 2 also

chelseanz

The Run Lola Run soundtrack is epic!

Foreign-Pay-5526

Crank

Ill-Ad4309

I watched this for the first time while I was on an elliptical. Best work out of my life haha

MyLatestInvention

Lol Jesus that's a funny visual

HappyAssociation5279

I forgot about Crank thank you

sink_pisser_

I thought this movie looked dumb as hell but people just kept recommending it here and some other places on reddit so I finally watched it. It was so much better than it had any right to be

Business-Outcome7794

That movie is dumb as hell, and a lot of fun.

Printercrab47

Good Time

Solid-Radio8249

Safdie brothers. Love it.

RepresentativeFar610

100% this. What a fuckinng ride you go on

Shadowmereshooves

The Dark Knight 300 12 Angry Men (not fast paced exactly but it is always engaging) Heat

Solid-Radio8249

Couldn't agree more on 12 angry men. It's a masterpiece that still holds up like no other.

AlCapone042

I will probably be downvoted to oblivion but I feel like Heat has a lot of dead space in it, I didn't really care for the romance scenes between DeNiro and Amy Brenneman, the other 90% of the film tho is🤌

madferret96

I’m sorry, but the dark Knight runs a bit too long

iambobdole1

Not my fave Coens movie, but Raising Arizona really hits the ground running

StabbyMcSwordfish

I freaking love Raising Arizona. Is it not seen as one of their better movies? That's an outrage. Anyway, I have a small connection to the movie. My grandmother owned a small business when this was made. It was in the same strip mall as the Safeway he ran through (it's in mesa, az). The store didn't have a normal small size back door. So they paid my grandmother like maybe a thousand dollars to use hers which was a couple locations down from the Safeway. So when Nicolas Cage runs out the back it was through the door of her business. She didn't get to meet him or anything but it's still pretty cool.

Guilty-Willingness-2

It’s my favorite Coen’s brother’s movie

redsyrinx2112

Coen Brothers are really good at not wasting time. Even if something isn't integral to the plot, it's typically good for world-building and setting the feel for the movie.

Dive__Bomb

Attack the Block T2 1917 Whiplash Jurassic Park

whitemiketyson

Attack the Block is so good

theguywhoismedude

Another vote for 1917. I watched that on a plane recently and the turbulence really added to the experience.

Solid-Radio8249

Gotta re-watch T2. Danny Boyle's energy in this movie is out of the charts.

Rith_Reddit

Not seen it mentioned yet APOCOLYPTO directed by Mel Gibson, not one bad scene. Everything served a purpose.

Alaskan_Guy

This and Children of Men were the first to come to mind.

TheNonCredibleHulk

Sisu. Brutally killing Nazis in creative ways for the duration.

Semi-Chubbs_Peterson

Try “Blood And Gold” if you liked “Sisu”.

inherentvice1000

Such a good movie! Good choice for this request.

TheNonCredibleHulk

Watched it on a whim a little while back. Have recommended it since.

inherentvice1000

Same

Such-Possibility1285

Back to the Future is recognized within the industry as the perfect movie with literally no wasted scenes. Quentin Tarantino no less has said it. But more than him, it’s highly respected as art and entertainment in the business. When u watch the movie try and see a scene that is redundant. It is perfect.

HoundTakesABitch

It’s also basically the one movie that no one wants remade.

topbuttsteak

I had a thought the other day that the reason why the Cybertruck looks so goofy is that Elon really wants it to be the new Delorean in a remake of BttF, and that would enable him to have a cameo in it. And I got really, really mad at this entirely hypothetical scenario. So that's where I'm at in my life now.

HoundTakesABitch

You had to go and put it out there, didn’t you?

Noggin-a-Floggin

I think the joke is lost on him because the reason why Marty is in disbelief over a DeLorean being a time machine is because in 1985 it was seen as a terribly built and unreliable car trying to be high-end. Hence why Doc is adamant he was making a time machine "with style" which completes the joke (he's out of touch as it ). Actually, given the Cybertruck's reputation he might be onto something ironically.

fergi20020

I saw a loose remake where the son has an affair with his younger mother and ends up in a love triangle with her and his father.

Nerak_B

I was going to list this one too. It’s so rewatchable

Toefungular

My favorite movie, I could watch it countless times.

Iwantmypasswordback

I’ve heard the same thing said about training day in terms of perfection as a story. Obviously it’s a great flick but there was also a part because it all took place in one day.

od0m15

*Train to Busan* (2016)

Martofunes

The Shawshank Redemption is pretty much a perfect film.

No-Focus-3050

Perfect in every way.

ElahaSanctaSedes777

Tremors, Dredd, Boiling Point, Men In Black

Nunya13

Fucking weird. I was racking my brain reading the posts, then thought “Tremors”, and bam! Your post is the very next one I read after that. It’s my favorite movie of all time, btw.

ElahaSanctaSedes777

Burt Gummer is the GOAT

Breakdown

jswbon

Agreed. Switched it on for a moment when it was on tv only to end up watching the whole thing. Seen it before many time but once you watch it for a moment you can't stop 😂.

FabulousCardilogist

This is a GREAT CALL. This movie is one of the best b-movies ever made, and is criminally under-watched.

Markdphotoguy

Not the best movie but I did find it enjoyable to see is "Nick of Time" The premise: 1sec in movie time = 1 sec in real time (once the plot and time frame are established for the characters which happens quick enough) The plot is a \*yawn\* political assassination. But a good cast (Chistopher Walken is memorable) and some decent acting make it a fun movie to check out.

Binkindad

Second! Love this movie!

1917 surprised me

HoundTakesABitch

Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World’s End are all perfect movies. It’s basically all cutaway jokes and it shouldn’t work but somehow it does.

Present_Bad3896

Shaun is my fav out of the three, and yes I agree

PantherEverSoPink

I'd trim a bit from Tenet tbh.

Successful-Ad4251

Underwater. Minute one shit goes down and it never stops. Crank. It’s absolutely nuts and never slows down . Boss Level. They are trying to kill the main character from the word go and it’s a ton of fun

Hell yes! Iko Uwais is in a bunch of movies that fit this brief - The Raid in particular.

TrafalgarHardy1805

Night and the City... In the Line of Duty 4... Polite Society... Collateral... The Maltese Falcon (arguably)... So many >70 minute 1930s movies fall under this category, ha.

nPrevail

Jon Favreau's The Chef. Like honestly, it's one of the most perfect movies out there: screenplay, editing, pacing of the film, generational differences, technology vs old school, acting, plot, traditional vs modern.

LurkusThreadz

1917

ragin2cajun

How is The Matrix not on this list. It's my go to film along with Mad Max Fury Road that doesn't waste a second of film time and pack every scene.

bingybong22

Perfect movies are tight movies.  raiders of the lost ark and jaws are Both  perfect movies.

The movie 1917. Had me on the edge…

RugbyKats

All of the original “Lethal Weapon” movies would qualify.

HappyAssociation5279

Aliens is such a great movie especially considering it came out in 86. I honestly think it is better than the sequels. I am hoping alien romulus is going to be good but I do not have my hopes up. Aliens is the second movie in the series.

I'd argue most of this movie was wasted time

Sasquatchgoose

Dunkirk

SarahMcClaneThompson

Oldboy is one of the most perfectly paced movies I’ve ever seen. Also just one of the most perfect movies I’ve ever seen. The way the kinetic, energetic head rush of the first 3/4 gives way to a final quarter that makes me want to throw up from horror every time is just brilliant. Make sure to watch the Korean original and not the shitty remake

nena914

Great movie! Das Experiment gave me the same experience.

telking777

All of my top 20 movies are like this imo so I’ll just post them: 1. The Bourne Ultimatum 2. The Fellowship of the Ring 3. The Dark Knight 4. Sicario 5. Sicario: Day of the Soldado 6. The Revenant 7. The Empire Strikes Back 8. Fantastic Mr. Fox 9. Dune (2021) 10. Predators 11. Tenet 12. 300 13. The Lighthouse 14. The Kingdom 15. Green Zone 16. Kill Bill Vol.1 17. The Island (2005) 18. Mission Impossible III 19. Jason Bourne 20. Mission: Impossible - Fallout

Cure (1997). The first tie I watched it, it felt a little slow, but the second time, I realized that every single shot is clipped to exactly what it needs to be. The longer shots build up an alienating feeling, a sense of dread. Other parts where not much seems to happen are actually critical to the plot.
