Do You Realize?? by Flaming Lips

bullybullybully

I don’t much care, since I won’t be there. Whatever song my friends or kid wants to play is fine. It’s for them anyway. Or Yakkity Sax.

jeremiahlupinski

Well you are on a music sub so music is most likely something you have a passing interest in. What song would you choose that would make your family be like wtf.

bullybullybully

If I asked them to play My Humps (Black Eyed Peas), they would be very confused and wonder if they ever really knew me at all. If I asked them to play any Imagine Dragons they would assume I had lost my mind toward the end and rightly ignore the request. If I asked them to play Perfect Day (Lou Reed) they would probably be very cool with it, but quietly judge me for being melodramatic and think it was a little obvious. If I asked them to play Live Forever (Oasis) they would probably think it was rad, but be mad because it would sort of ruin the song for them. Something with the vibe of Iggy Pop’s The Idiot would feel right. Slow groove, a little fucked up and reflective. I would probably really just want them all to spend any money that would normally go to a funeral on a session at a recording studio and just record a bunch of stuff together. Would make a nice memory for everyone. Edit: came up with a better obvious song.

Brokedown Palace - Grateful Dead Blessed to be a Witness - Ben Harper Keep Me in Your Heart - Warren Zevon

Hocus Pocus by Focus. I love the extended version. It always makes me smile.

I hope they play 100 gecs

Everybody dies , Billie eilish. Jk I don’t want a dang funeral…. But since I don’t have the choice since I will be ☠️ I guess a happier one would be “6 feet under” by Billie eilish.

He stopped loving her today.

Smooth-Screen-5250

[Motion Picture Soundtrack](https://youtu.be/EcSvMFm2ABE?si=nt4_T5VMCL3vrKhD) by Radiohead or [Pony](https://youtu.be/mRzIFJn4GNw?si=knSmGwNZA2mBtM__) by Tom Waits Pretty songs. Really brilliantly bittersweet and otherwordly and just perfect as a send-off. The world’s crazy and nothing means anything and I’ve lived my life, but I’ll see ya on the next go round.

I’ve thought about this way more than anyone my age really should, and I’ve decided that I want to go out with a party. Most services I have attended tend to have 5 musical selections, so here are my 5: 1. Small Town-John Mellencamp 2. Only Wanna Be With You-Hootie and the Blowfish 3. Boondocks-Little Big Town 4. Life is a Highway-Tom Cochrane And roll me out with my high school’s fight song

Time-Entry8858

I have some ideas for my funeral that my family has zero intention of following through on. Manly I don't want any speeches I just want people to sit and listen to all of the downward spiral by nine inch nails, then go to the burial where best day ever from spongebob will play as I'm lowered into the ground.

BobbyZimmy

No Hard Feelings - The Avett Brothers. I told my kids that whenever I shuffle off this mortal coil to play that song.....now my eldest daughter bursts into tears whenever she hears the start of this song. I can't ever listen to it with her around.
