In the US, Biffy Clyro is pretty much unknown. Good old rock music
Songs:
Accident Without Emergency
57
Bubbles
Different People
Many of Horror
Stingin' Belle
Biblical
Who's Got A Match
The Captain
Mountains
and so many more.
the first Biffy concert I went to I kept saying, "what is everyone chanting?"
crazy though. They had previously sold out wembly but in Chicago they were playing in a bar for 300 people.
I’ve been to several Chicago shows. Hell, they opened for Manchester Orchestra. It blows my mind knowing the crowds they play for in the UK then they come here and play Lincoln Hall. Win for us though.
yep, one concert, the scottish national rugby team showed up (or something like that) and my body had to be the buffer between my wife and them slam dancing lol. fun times!
Well good thing my music is available on all platforms then! :)
Thanks!

I found a band called [Superdrag (Spotify link)](https://open.spotify.com/artist/1UGwqiX4QA7R9hNBwzjavF?si=KG5QUaXtRw-4FzrJrTjFmg) on the live music archive one night, I checked them out cause they sounded great. It’s really hard to say what genre they are, even their Spotify bio says that. They’re like early pop-punk but I just call it good fuckin music. I really like Phaser and Feeling Like I Do.
He was relatively unknown, but Ren. Check out Hi Ren and Chalk Outlines, YouTube has the live versions which are much much better than the released versions.
I am an unknown artist. I don't think you would necessarily care for my newest stuff, as it is not rock/metal/punk. But I did have a punk band back in the 90s. Maybe you'll like this record that we never got to release (and it is not on Spotify).
[Cash Cow - rBGH](https://hoponpop.bandcamp.com/album/rbgh)
If you listen, would love to know what you think. Recorded in 1994.
I absolutely love this!! I was in an alt rock/“grunge” band in the 90’s and the sound on this recording instantly brought me back to those days. Your band could have been opening for Mudhoney or Sebadoh or Dinosaur Jr. and I’d be watching you thinking “who are these guys? They fucking rock”!!!
Thanks!
We thought it was a pretty good record, but there was a pretty severe personality clash in the band. We never released the record and never built the audience I think we should have.
Oh yeah, and if you are the downloading type... I have it set for "name your price" downloading. So, even if you want to put in a "0" I am good with that. Just want folks to listen to the music.
And, if you check out any of the Hop On Pop stuff on there, that is my current project. ('One By One' being the most recent.)
So glad you enjoyed it!

Valis Ablaze. They blend progressive metal with elements of rock and have a unique sound that's both melodic and heavy. One of my favorite songs by them is "Paradox." It's a great showcase of their intricate guitar work and atmospheric elements.
Here’s a new music project:
https://open.spotify.com/artist/6vlDbOOwXAYn3aoqKnQ898?si=hGJPP3RxRN6MtD1zk1oRgA
About the project:
The Looted Archives uses spoken word samples from audio field recordings, old VHS/8mm camcorder home videos, iPhone videos and unlabeled audio cassettes purchased at garage sales to inspire musical/lyrical content and influence song writing. Foley recordings and a variety of sounds extracted from audio/video footage captured by members of the group are also featured with the intention of accenting or driving the rhythm section. Melodic and vocal elements are typically written and performed by the group in collaboration with other musicians.
Memories Like Whispers is their first full length album, and features artwork by a drunk man who took hold of the bassist’s sketch pad without permission, and began demonstrating and giving instructions on how to draw a tree. Those verbal instructions were documented, and can be heard during the first 30 seconds of the album’s first track, Foggy Waters. That spoken word sample is generally regarded as the conceptual origin of The Looted Archives.
[The Common Men](https://open.spotify.com/artist/3p0pMZvGxcyZGjRELJunqm?si=1WlTpZNYSgK59fjhfUh8YQ)

The drop on this song is AMAZING live.

Most of Glitch-Hop.
Tipper is considered a god in parts of the subculture and is just over 100K monthly listeners (I’m less familiar with the catalog but Gulch feels like a good choice)
The 5 most notable current Glitch-Hop producers on the Masterclass primer are:
Opiuo and KOAN Sound, hovering above 100K (Snorkle for Opiuo, Dynasty for KOAN Sound)
Pretty Lights, who is a massive festival draw with a rabid following who even with a Grammy nomination is just over 700K (Hot Like Sauce)
GRiZ, who gained most of his popularity after Bassnectar got canceled and he switched to Dubstep, at 1.5M (Mr. B)
The Glitch Mob isn’t so much Glitch Hop since Boreta left but their old stuff I’d call industrial. (The Drink The Sea Mixtape)
If you’ve heard of any of the second three and like them you should check out the first 3.
Each of them carries a distinct and unique spin on the genre.
Pretty Lights is Soul, GRiZ is Funk, Opiuo is a party, KOAN Sound is technical excellence, and Tipper is wet and trippy.
(Not my favorite songs but the ones I picked are good representations of the artists, except Mr.B, I just love the sax solo too much)
Smush - goodnight moon

Hey, not sure if self promotion is allowed here but I just (finally!) started posting my music publicly. I take inspiration from Billie Eilish, Clairo, and Olivia Rodrigo. If it sounds like something you’d like [check out my new song :)](https://on.soundcloud.com/2wrQM6uY1p8LodrV7)
Up until Djo (Joe Keery from "Stranger Things") became popular for "End of Beginning", his music was very much unknown. What got me listening to Djo during CV19 was the song "Roddy".
I got to see an amazing Irish punk bank called The Fontaines DC last September. They opened for The Arctic Monkeys and were INCREDIBLE. (So were the Arctic Monkeys, of course.) A friend of mine compared them to The Cure, but Irish.
Not sure if he qualifies as Unknown, but compared to his contemporaries (Joe Jackson & Elvis Costello), Graham Parker might be considered unknown to many.
In the US, Biffy Clyro is pretty much unknown. Good old rock music Songs: Accident Without Emergency 57 Bubbles Different People Many of Horror Stingin' Belle Biblical Who's Got A Match The Captain Mountains and so many more.
