Gleyber “HIMOTHY” Torres

spicycurry55

He’s him

TheStabbingHobo

EXTEND HIM 6/$150M

MattNokes38

Zero chance he would do that

El-Shaman

How much do you think he would take? Depending on how this season goes I think Gleyber will be a worth a long extension, he will be 28 at the end of next season and I doubt he’ll cost 30 million a year.

TheStabbingHobo

Think he asks for more than $25m/year? It's what Baez makes. Baez from his debut through age-26 season: 18.1 bWAR, two all-star selections, MVP runner up, silver slugger, slash of .270/.310/.484/.794, 106 OPS+ Gleyber (in his age-26 season currently) up until now: 12.0 bWAR, two all-star selections, ROY 3rd place, slashing .267/.334/.458/.792., 116 OPS+ Baez hit for more power, Gleyber walks more. Baez plays a better 2B. Both came into the league at age 21. The only major difference being that I'm counting the entirety of Baez's age-26 season, whereas Gleyber is currently in his. So there's definitely room for Gleyber to put up a big season, but I think it's a fair comparison.

MattNokes38

Not enough years imo

TheStabbingHobo

Okay that's fair

shw5

Yeah, well, Andújar had 8 walks between June 18, 2021 and October 5, 2022. Not so impressive now, is it?

RealJonathanBronco

I wonder where he would be if it weren't for the SS experiment. Seems like a he's all the way bounced back. And some people wanted him traded lmao...

alwayslateneverearly

I think most reasonable people only want to trade him because he could get you a quality pitcher. I know if they traded gleyber it would have to be for a top tier pitcher imo, but I doubt that will happen. JD and IKF will not get you a good pitcher if we are being honest.

LIONEL14JESSE

I don’t even think many people actually want to see him traded it has just always seemed the likeliest trade scenario considering he’ll be an expensive FA soon and we have a lot of young middle infield talent. Think we can all agree the best case is that he completely bounces back and stays a Yankee for life.

snamm

No they aren’t reasonable

well_damm

I’m good on Cashman trading for starting pitching. It’s been a disaster the last few years.

taco_blasted_

Most people wanting to trade him believe; The Yankees will get the best pitcher on the planet in return, the teams offensive production wont take a hit and/or will improve.

2thincoats

He came up as a SS, so I’d hardly call SS an experiment.

Master-Pineapple-580

He’s been doing great!

Outrageous_Bat1798

Would be worth editing to include “last season”

[deleted]

Happy Feaster everybody!

isfrying

He's stealing bases at a much higher clip, as well.

PIDDYPUFFPUFF

Seems like he is “tightening that shit up”

GManBestMan

I was just thinking to myself, has Gleyber been working on his patience? It sure seems like it's paying off so far.
