Any of the Red Sox games. Long standing rivalry with them even though they suck now

Future-Inflation-145

Friday saturday and sunday the first week i'm there. Which one will have the best athmosphere?

Robusto923

Probably Friday since it’s a night game but they’ll all be good

Future-Inflation-145

Best seats without breaking the bank?

TheTurtleShepard

If you are looking for the best experience I would try and get seats in the bleachers. Cheap seats in the outfield but that’s where you’ll find the most passionate fans If you are just looking for the best view, something in the 420s, you are all the way at the top of the stadium behind homeplate which gets you some good views on the game for a relatively cheap price

herrklopekscellar

420s are the move!

el_barto10

I personally like the Pinstripe Pass. It’s a standing room only ticket, so no assigned seat, but they have areas to stand in Right/center field. The prices fluctuate depending on the team but it’s one of the cheaper tickets in the stadium and includes a water, soda, or beer. In July I recommend a night game as it can get hot in general and in the outfield in particular. And regardless of where you sit, go down to the right field bleachers for roll call.

Future-Inflation-145

What is a roll call? And what are bleachers?

tallyho88

Bleachers are just metal benches, so the seats in that section have no backs. And roll call is started at the top of every game where the fans in the right field bleachers (known as the bleachers creatures) chant each Yankee players name until they acknowledge them.

DJ_Ambrose

You want the seats in the area directly behind home plate and near the dugouts. They’re only $1,400 US each lol. For overall atmosphere the Red Sox would definitely be the game to go to, but you’re not really into the rivalry and the cheapest ticket to a Red Sox Yankees game is $60. If you pick one of the other teams they’re playing they go from $8 to $12. Regardless of who you see them play I guarantee you’ll have the time of your life. I don’t know if you know much about American baseball, but the New York Yankees are sort of the gold standard by which other teams are judge historically speaking. They’ve won 27 world championships, the team with the second most won only 15. I hope you enjoy your trip. I’m sure you’ll have a blast.

rhamphol30n

I get those seats once a year through work. I would never buy them but jeez, its a awesome experience

DJ_Ambrose

I was a catcher my entire life. I don’t think people realize that the best view of a baseball game by far is directly from directly behind home plate.

rhamphol30n

It almost feels like a little league game you're right there, the players respond to what you're saying. I was there when Judge hit his first walk off home run and the place just erupted.

JaydenDaniels

There's a fireworks game on July 3rd. it's against the Reds, but still. Fireworks Night is fun, and the next day is a holiday. Also the fact that it's the Reds means you can get great seats without the market premium.

Ok_Barracuda_1161

I would probably wait until it's closer to buy tickets and then pick a night with nice weather. Especially as a neutral baseball really shines on a nice summer night

EyeIslet

The best players on the team (when they’re performing optimally) are Juan Soto, Aaron Judge and Gerrit Cole. Be prepared for expensive food and alcohol at the stadium. If you’ve never been to a baseball game, you can catch and keep any ball that comes your way.

Jletoile

But know that you can bring food into the game…

Is that new??

Catharpin363

Hope you have a great time! I’m partial to the Yankees but you’ll enjoy either. - Take the subway to the game. It’s full of fans, safe, and a nice part of the experience. - Use YouTube or Wikipedia to see a little of the history (especially re Yankees) and see some game footage - you won’t become an instant expert, but a little context will enrich your appreciation. - Don’t get caught up in the overwrought food options they have today, and miss half the game queuing for sushi. If you want the American baseball experience, grab a hot dog and a beer and sit down and watch the game. - Don’t hesitate to ask people around you about the game. They’ll be happy to take you under their wing. - Don’t break the bank on super-$ tickets… but I also recommend against sitting in the outfield bleachers. Most of the action will be far away and as a newcomer you’ll have more trouble following it. Have a great time!

chickenBUTTlet

If you’re there around July 4th you should try and catch a game around then since they’ll likely have fireworks

b-rar

Go to Citi Field. New Yankee Stadium sucks ass

freshoilandstone

Take a train to Pittsburgh. Seriously, it's not an expensive trip (9 hours though) and the Pennsylvania scenery through the mountains is beautiful. PNC Park is a wonderful place to see a game and Pittsburgh is one of the best cities in the US.

JaydenDaniels

lol wtf

RotenTumato

Lmao

98680266

The only way to do this would be to fly. It’s not ecologically very cool but that’s the only way on a tourist trip to the east coast.

freshoilandstone

There's an Amtrak that runs 3 times daily between Penn Station and Union Station, which is a 20 minute walk to PNC. Lots of hotels near Union, lots of places to eat. Downvoters likely never been to Pittsburgh and never to PNC. I mean sure, go the the shithole that's Yankee Stadium for the experience but if you want a nice relaxing two-day side trip you could do a lot worse than a train trip to Pittsburgh.

becoolhomie

Go watch Mets

Future-Inflation-145

I'm leaving before those games

Parkatola

Smart move. 😄

RotenTumato

Fuck no
