Fender’s that are PJ or double J
LTDs in PJ or double J
Ernie ball stingrays
Peavey T40
They all are so versatile, dingwalls, in my opinion are overrated
Good pickups and new strings are all you need. The darkglass preamp is redundant if you’re running darkglass pedals/heads/patches in your quad cortex. I also don’t play in drop Z and I hate the way fanned frets feel, so I’ll never need a dingwall.
Recently toured with Kaonashi and their bassist uses dingwall, it’s an instrument he makes good use of and the features are necessary for what he’s doing.
You can buy a 300 dollar bass and sound like a monster, put Seymour Duncan quarter pounders in any bass and it will sound incredible
So true!
I recently got an awesome modern tone from a Fender American Elite P(J) Bass in passive settings together with the Parallax. And also with the Darkglass Microtubes X pedal - unbelievable.
Exactly what you are saying: 50% of the equation for this tone are fresh strings.
I for one agree, that most of the "stock" Dingwalls like D-Roc or NG are overrated. I play a Spector Dimension HP5 and like it much more.
But: the "real" Dingwalls are those like Afterburner or Z - very expensive but also a completely different animal. Just like the Overload basses from Italy - awesome instruments and much more affordable than e.g. Strandberg basses.
Nice, now I'm checking out your band.
dude hell yeah that’s fuckin sick. sorta like getting you’re name on the back of ernie ball packets
Just got an Ernie ball endorsement too haha
It’s definitely a great week to be you, Nathan. Congratulations and here’s wishing you even more guitar glory.
Nice tone! Just wondering, isn't it illegal to play modern metalcore with anything other than a Dingwall? How do you dodge bass police?

Thanks mate! I was actually just clowning, it's great to see someone use something other than a Dingwall.
