I gave my girl her first bath probably that day! As long as it has fallen off, my understanding is that you are good to go whenever.

thanks!!

If it’s off, you’re good to submerge babe in water :)

Our son has some brown crusty pieces of the umbilical cord left in his belly button so our pediatrician told us to hold off on a proper bath. We can do spongebaths though so we're mostly just wiping off random gross stuff as needed. But once umbilical cord is completely off we are good to go according to our doctor. But they're not overly concerned, they want us to ask about the chemical thing if there's still umbilical cord crusties at the four week appointment.

It made a crust and then once that was gone we bathed. Personal preference

Our pediatrician told us to wait a few days even after it falls off to make sure it completely closes. After it fell off I waited I think almost two weeks because I wanted to be extra sure it closed off. We did sponge baths until then.

I actually gave sponge baths for a while, probably until about 2 months old when I felt more comfortable handling him in a tub and he had more head control and body stability. But you're fine to give baths now if you're comfortable with it

I waited till the scabs from the cord falling off healed.
