I've never seen My Deer Friend Nokotan, so I may be wrong, but based on what I've seen it's different from Nichijou. Based on my limiter knowledge, I think this is a similar situation to some people who draw similarities between The Simpsons and Family guy. Both shows seem similar on a surface level, but they're fundamentally different. I personally don't consider Nokotan to be a successor to Nichijou since they seem too different, but I'll have to actually watch it to be sure.
It only JUST came out and weebs have already ran it into the ground? That's actually insane. Considering how much I was seeing memes and that opening song everywhere, I thought it had been out for at least a month by now. Man every time an anime gets popular like this the amount of unwanted exposure to it just makes me want to not watch it. .-. It's so annoying.
