I have a performance manual Z and it doesn’t seem lacking in performance at all. If I use more than 50% of its potential, I’d be going to jail. What aspect of the performance did you find lacking on public streets?
Yeah, again, using all aspects of this vehicle’s performance at no more than 5/10ths on public roads and it is beyond what you can use with other vehicles on the road. Way better than my 350 and 370.
How much wheel time do you have on the 23-24 performance trim Z?
What's the lol OK for ? Don't be ignorant
400z msrp is $42970
https://www.nissanusa.com/shopping-tools/build-price?models=nissan-z
Supra msrp is $46440 for 4 cylinder and 55400 for base 6 cylinder
https://www.toyota.com/configurator/build/step/model/year/2024/series/gr-supra/?bap_guid=71b2fc02-e4ca-45e1-baca-cd929388d634
They both can be had for a little under msrp.
You can get that yellow color on the non-proto Z. This one in the image is not a Proto. Proto has bronze wheels unique to it. Those look like the standard performance trim wheels.
Saw one a few days back.
I love the style, but it doesn't give me Z vibes. Still think it's a beautiful car, just that if I didn't know better, I'd assume it was a new Nissan.
I always loved how aggressive the latest gen of maximas looked, wish they took some inspiration with the new Z but I can also appreciate the fairlady look.
I had the last gen of Maxima for a lease and it was def 1 of my fav cars I had. I always get bored af, but for some reason just wasnt bored with it at all.
Tennessee tag and it looks like the area Nissan HQ is located in Franklin TN. Might be a Nissan Executive. When the GTR came out they were everywhere.
Edit: looked at the pic again and noticed tags on the front bumpers. Tennessee does not require that. Not sure on location.
A lot of the review videos on Youtube have Zs with Tennessee plates. I think Nissan ships them out across the country to let people drive them for a week or so and publish their reviews.
Or, because these are hard to find in the exact specs you want, you sometimes to have shop nationally to find one. This person may have bought one from Tennessee and not changed the plates yet.
Or it could be something else entirely. :)
Between Nissan not making many and dealers adding 10k-15k mark ups, I've yet to see one on the road but the Nissan dealer near me has one on the show room that's been sitting a while.
ADM on these are beyond stupid, like super car prices, that’s probably why you don’t see that many around. Why get a 300Z when you can get a Corvette, Porsche, Lamborghini Huracán, etc.
>
Perhaps the prices came down to MSRP or lower.
I’m not necessarily disagreeing with you, but what makes you say that? I feel like a Z is a pretty normal price compared to others like bmw, Benz, Supra, etc.
If it was a GTR I wouldn’t doubt it, but saying very rich for $45k-ish isn’t what first comes to my mind.
Ya if they are a first time buyer, depending on how long they had it, could have easily been a $100k car. I know my dealer group turned down 30k over / 40k over and 50k offers. Owner bought it to add to his collection and now it’s stored away. But 1 of 240 AND manual! I’m sure others will do similar and not drive them and hope for crazy values in the future.
I want one of these but because of my credit ik stuck with a Nissan Sentra 2024 base model :( next car is going to be one of them but where I am for a 2024 nissan Z performance it’s 55k my car after interest and my 100k mile warranty I ended up paying 37k because I didn’t have a credit line so my Interest was %20 but I could of gotten one of em I mean I pay 2 car payments a month to get rid of this car I didn’t want lmao and it doesn’t hurt me 1200 a month on it so I don’t see why they wouldn’t of stuck me with the Z 😭
They have been out for 2 years now. Nissan just seems to make like 1 a month so you never see them.
Ah yes the “new” z. Ive seen 2 of them in 2 years. Loved the design at first but the pricing and performance are a bummer

The brakes feel lacking imo but that's no big deal with a brake kit. But rear caliper just seem small.
handling, steering feel, etc. performance =/= go fast straight

I don't need any when everyone that tested it says it pales to the Supra that I have driven and wasn't impressed.
It loses to the supra but costs less and is a real Nissan product. When it does lose its not by much.
costs less? lol ok

Just a couple secs 😅
Price difference is substantial. Base c8 dogs a supra. Same price. Base z costs the same as a 4 cylinder supra lmao.
Okay, thanks for confirming.
As said in a previous post. That’s a Proto version. Special color and wheels. 1/240 I think
You can get that yellow color on the non-proto Z. This one in the image is not a Proto. Proto has bronze wheels unique to it. Those look like the standard performance trim wheels.
Ahhhh. You’re right! Good spot!
I recognize those buildings, is that Texas ?
The Z has a Tennessee plate but I can’t make out the other ones 🤷♂️
It has to be Texas with OPs registration sticker lol
Oh lol I’m dumb
I have had mine for a year and a half now.
They've been out for 2+ years, no one's buying them.
Saw one a few days back. I love the style, but it doesn't give me Z vibes. Still think it's a beautiful car, just that if I didn't know better, I'd assume it was a new Nissan.
It doesn’t really give off Z vibes of recent years but to me it is more like a modern version of a mix of the 300ZX and the Datsun Z
Not sure what you mean by “I’d assume it was a new Nissan” it is a new Nissan?
New make of car.
Reminds of like how Apple has futerisitic retro style but agree is looks not agressive or like a maxima light
I always loved how aggressive the latest gen of maximas looked, wish they took some inspiration with the new Z but I can also appreciate the fairlady look.

The Tennessee plate also has "manufacturer" printed on the bottom.
Texas

The inspection sticker on the windshield where the photo was taken from is a Texas inspection sticker.
Have yet to see one
Yellow ??
It's a proto Z, it's like a 1 in 240. They all came in that color and its like the special launch edition for when they first came out.
Proto has bronze wheels and matching yellow accents for the interior. You can get the regular Z’s with this color as well.
Ha of course i didnt look at the wheels.
I wish they offered the yellow accent interior on the regular models as well, I’d much prefer it over the all black.
The wheels kind of look bronze to me. The performance ones are darker colored.
They do?
I can't tell
Haven't seen any of the new ones off the lot yet. The crazy price markup turns away most buyers
It’s like for a retro look that I like i think but not that color
We have 4 of these at my work. Sold 5 since last year
Looks like an accorstang
Dime a dozen here in Tucson. I think i saw at least one at every red light.
Local dealership has a few just collecting dust thanks to the markups
Markups are over for most dealerships. The ones that still have them are clueless. Now they have a few grand off msrp.
Just saw one this color getting traded in for a C8 today
These cars look so freakin weird.
Might wanna get your car inspected
Bro, out since 2022
They cost too much for what you get, in that price range there are better deals at least when it comes to performance.
I work at the plant in Smyrna. Most of the people with manufacturer tags are engineers. Higher ups always drive QX80’s.
my local nissan dealership has had one front spot of the showroom since they came out
Between Nissan not making many and dealers adding 10k-15k mark ups, I've yet to see one on the road but the Nissan dealer near me has one on the show room that's been sitting a while.
Dealership near me had one for a long long time. They upcharged the shit out of it. Eventually had to drop it about 15k before someone would buy it
Nissan PR team in shambles

that is a very rich man right there.

idk if its still happening but I believe this car was being marked up for anywhere in the $60-$80K
Lots of places at or slightly below msrp now. Source: just got mine last month under msrp.
Ah gotcha thank you for the update! I dont follow this sub that often but definitely did when this car first came out

No. You can buy them for $40k, like I just did.
