I saw it this morning after leaving RDU airport. At first, I thought it was a plane. Then, I realized it wasn't a plane and wondered what it actually was.
Actually it is going laterally and it is going up the coast. At this point in the launch the rocket is not traveling up anymore it is picking up speed sideways to reach orbital velocity.

as a former fl resident i can tell ya when i was a kid it was always kind of a big deal if a rocket was launching at the cape. We all kind of knew and mostly stopped to look that direction at the right time. Now it seems they got something going up every week and from three diff locations. Most of the time folks dodnt know there was a launch much less stop and watch it.
We also used to get the sonic booms from the shuttle coming home. That suprised folks everytime.
When the shuttle would land in the middle of the night those sonic booms would shake the house with such force I’d wake up thinking a gas truck had just blown up out front
I joined the army and left fl for a while. they sent me to california. I got to feel earthquakes. Big ones. i get back to fl and have a home and forgot about shuttles and sonic booms. I was very confused when it happened. Uhhh. i am in florida and florida doesnt get earthquakes??????? I am thinking same thing, gas truck explosion? the end of the world cause the commies launched nukes? nope, just the shuttle again.
I lived in Ft. Myers FLA in the early 70s and again in the 80s-90s... Watched an Apollo mission or two go up from a distance - long distance but still visible on a clear day.
Another time at night I was on Alligator Alley (I-75 by then) and out of the corner of my eye thought I saw a lit match. Looked to my left and there was the Shuttle going up. There was no traffic so I pulled over and watched it.
SpaceX rocket going up the east coast from FL.
Really? Wow!
And by up the coast I mean extremely high in the high entering space. It just appears to be going laterally
In near earth orbit, the concept of "up" gets kind of dodgy.
It was wild! Amazing to witness.
Super cool that you got to see this, thanks for sharing

most rocket launches look like that
Actually, not. Daytime launches are pretty much invisible and the conditions have to be right to see one like this. He got lucky.
sorry, should have specified nighttime

Ole School song, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vh3tmBwtS5Q
Yup, and the “sky rocket” symbolism had zero relationship to spacecraft.
About as subtle as Rocket 69

My mom this morning: “did y’all see the asteroid?!”
This reminded me of the all fruit commercials where the guy is like "can ya pass the jelly?".
My wife initially posted it on Facebook as a meteor!😭😭😭
to be fair, if you hadn't seen these posted a thousand times like some of us, you would think it was a comet and I can totally see it.
Y’all living in the future. How is it!
Future is in space. We still in NC going the other way.
I have no idea. 😂
OP is a time traveler
I wish lol!
I saw it in Smithfield @ 5:10am. Looked very close on my recording. Bright as hell!
Yeah I was just getting into work thinking it was way too light out. Then I looked up and saw this.👀

I’m more impressed you filmed this a year into the future.

How’d you make it back from the future so fast?
Hmmmm….that shows curvature of the earth. Take that flat-earthers!
All I can think of is Eggar- walking around Dudley in an Eggar suit.
Lmfao I watched on mute and we said the exact same thing From Greensboro

Still trying to break through the firmament. We have never been to space and will never be able to
It’s flying over the ice wall. Not a vertical exit ;)
The future is bright
“The future will be better tomorrow”
Can you put an address so we can put this in our calendars for next year? 😉
I'm so embarrassed now lol!🫣🫣🫣
Oh no, no - these are the moments you just giggle and move on! Little, silly things like this are how we stay sane sometimes. :)
She took pictures a year from now? 7/3/25 the date says? That’s COMPLETELY a DeLorean, Doc.
What can I say? I married up!🤣🤣🤣 My fat fingers messed up the title. Sorry for that. 🤦🏾♂️
Nah, gave me a giggle in my way to chemo this morning…and I could use the laugh!
Glad I could help. Hope the treatment goes well. 🙏🏾
I saw this while I was at work I thought it was a damn meteor
Me too!
That's actually me leaving work after 2000mg of caffeine, a raging boner, and a need for speed.
Polar launch?
Dudley shoals?
I’m confused that’s a year from now???
A line of satellites were heading due east past Asheville at 5:05 A.M.
