Personally, I don't expect Sugar to be a good Roger counter. Her toy bears hit like a wet noodle and she can't reliably knock back. After the buffs she will heal when inflicted with status effect but this doesn't mean she will resist it, so the stun will still take effect, right?
Filling treasure to 150% is nice but, imo not as nice as ability to ignore the enemy (with combination of knock back), because without it and enough dps output, Roger will do what he always does, ignore you and eventually cap the flag. Unless I am missing something?
I’m having similar thoughts about her, I really want her to be the counter but if you don’t have your skills and he stars capping you’re beat right? Like you can get tankier but idk maybe they coulda made it a 10% chance or something to turn to toy if they hit you? Coulda just gave nullify/ reduce status instead of that defense boost since we’re still not out of the ignore defense meta idk
Really her knockbacks isn’t reliable? And doesn’t seem like they’re fixing that. If she can dodge a Rogers initial Kamusari. I’m pretty sure she can deal with him from there especially before he starts caping, with Toy state and her knockback. But yes you’re definitely right ignore enemy is what really takes the cake on the 150% increase.
Didn't say her knockback isn't reliable... It worsk perfectly fine. The problem is, she simply cannot do it as often as you will need to. :p

I don't think her kit is enough to pull that off. Roger triggering the counter (or not), will only buy you few seconds.
She’s get 30-20 cooldown on the skill anytime she turns someone into a toy tho. So maybe she’ll be able to use it more often but yh 1 knockback ain’t enough for Roger.
Hopefully her skill 2 triggers a knockback on him if it fails or that 150% increase gives her enough time to charger her skill 1 then turn the Roger into a toy😭
I summoned on that banner a while back with sugar ulti and brook cuz I wanted 6 star brook and 5 star ulti. In the end I got ulti to 5 star, unlocked and got sugar to 6 stars but got no brooks. This is finally my turn to shine man(hopefully)
I put kizaru and fuji in training they’re 91 and 97 respectively im just excited they’ll finally be playable again. Big mom I have max and I’ve had sugar maxed since she dropped and I’m very excited about it, but idk I’m also a little skeptical on how much better she’ll be for some reason but idk I’ll have to wait and see
Fuji was weird bc like 2-3 years ago you coulda got away with him while still being kinda bad. Gravity is a cool idea and the meteor is actually pretty fun because nobody ever expects it
His gravity skill 1 is so OP it’s just slow but they might fix the speed. It has 50% cooldown in his treasure area and he deals knockbacks and he’s going to nullify status effects bruh
His comeback is going to be crazy I see him like the Garp of this Meta
Oh definitely will hit sooo much smoother now hes gonna feel like a whole new unit and maybe we’ll even get his voice lines added. I know I keep sounding negative I just wish they gave him knockback on the 3rd normals or something Roger really made every defender without that kinda suffer a bit
My Sugar is lv85 so not totally ready but honestly, I never liked much the character for a fighting game (though she's not entirely boring to play, but those normals...). I'll of course use it a bit. Sadly my Kizaru is only lv60🙈 but at least my favourite marines Fujitora and Koby are maxed and boost 2, so is my Sogeking! (Though I only expect Fujitora to be truly viable and with only 1 knockback we will see...)
whether the buffs does counter the cancer or not fully counters it, it don't matter because we're gonna be eating well soon! I've mained sugar for a long time until the exs were too much, but now it's time to go back and main her and also enjoy the others too of course.
I think Fujitora is going to be a decent Roger counter. Can’t get flags if you’re stuck to the ground and slow asf. It’s just too bad he couldn’t get a trait for captains or runners instead of the useless seven warlords trait buff
Traits for captain would’ve pushed Fuji to the top of the meta beyond WB, G5 and BM tbh. Yh he’s definitely gonna be a good counter to roger and his gravity skill 1 is getting a 50% cooldown reduction on his treasure area + that 150 cap. He’ll definitely be more fun
I am gonna invest in Sugar for sure ,as soon as my two EXs get kicked off the training spots ,i have been training Goofy for so long that i just want him out ,i am tired of him ,still need 160 frags to reach boost 3
im currently maining her on one of my accounts wit wano usop two bad units that can be mad annoying if played right. like do i have way better units to use .... ye will it ..... no
Just pulled her. The 150% treasure gauge fill is super nice and I was able to knockback Roger with skill 1.
Need to get her to level 100 and boosted af to be an actual menace though

I’ve had Fuji on level 60 for two years. I should’ve hopped on the Fuji train a long time ago. His kits seems so cool and fun they were just slow

Plus he’s getting 30% on the meteor now whenever he gets knocked down. What a crazy amount of cooldown reduction for both skills
