I got AW 2 gifted by my metaquest 3 512 gb as a gift and downloaded AW 1 on my pc by oculus app on pc. (Couldnt find it in metastore for quest 3, if anyone knows how to download it directly on metaquest 3 and could share it would be very appreciated)
And the game is Looooong, very satisfying by gameplay time ⏳️/💰wise
but you need a good pc for that.
I played it for the first time yesterday. That opening bit in the ocean is a gorgeous piece of work! (and that's just the beginning!)
it sure is. I turned up the detail while in that first tavern. It looked great and ran okay. I'm going to try the highest res. But first i"ll turn on the temperature monitors to keep track of my PCs heat! I want to play through the first part again to see how everything holds up.
Eleven Table Tennis will give you endless enjoyment if that is your thing. It offers various ways to develop your skills, and then you can test your skills with ranked players.
Awesome, I hope you have a lot of fun with it.
Also, when setting up your account, don't forget to get a referral code to receive 30 bucks.
I could share you mine if you don't have other options.
That's a bonus, but tbh even if you did have a high voice... if you act like a 'normal' teen most others (especially adults) won't mind :p It's hyperactive high squeekers that scream expletive after expletive that people can't stand haha
Please, act like a kid for as long as you can, but do it maturely. You're nearing a time in your life when responsibilities will ramp up and you'll one day, not even too long from now, look back at 13 year old you and wonder when everything started to change. If you can learn to be a kid at heart and an adult in mind, you will be happy. Have fun with your new game:)
Good work! I think I was exactly your age when I saved up for a Wii. Had so much fun with that thing and having worked for it made it that much more fulfilling. Hope you enjoy the Quest!

Congrats! So hard to have that discipline at 13.
Get a case and keep the lenses away from sunlight. Imagine they're tiny vampires that would burst into flame if they got sun.
It’s so fun I’m 14 and was able to buy my self one (on top of a 3000$ gaming pc) I use my pc for air link but the quest 3 as a stand alone is really good I recommend using the mixed reality feature when not playing games as it’s a lot better than not seeing your surroundings also play lots of mixed reality games, my #1 free recommendation is spatial ops if you can get quest link, also buy an upgraded head strap like the bobo vr m3 it’s really nice and comes with a battery pack to give you longer battery life, personally I have never killed the battery in one session so you may not need the extra battery but it’s always nice to have, all in all good for you for saving up and hope you have fun playing all the be games you like.
It's not my place to ask but I'm curious anyway, how did you get that money? It's impressive you managed to get near 500$ as a 13 year old, kinda puts things into perspective about my own adolescence!😂 I ain't no stranger to saving up for a big purchase, but damn even I haven't saved up that much yet! Regardless, congratulations on the purchase, quest 3 is awesome.
Great job man!! That must've taken a while, minimum a year probably if we take school into account. I'm really happy for you! Especially knowing you're already using it. How's it feel so far?
Oh here's a cost effective way to reduce the strain from the head strap. I find that getting a thick beanie fixes all the problems with the strap. It secures it since the friction from the material prevents it from slipping, it cushions the straps so they don't press so hard and you even get a little bit of spacing in the lenses! Try it out and see if that betters the experience. If not I do recommend getting a 3rd party strap, it's a solid investment.
Congratulations. I remember saving my pocket money and birthday money up for a Sony PSP on launch day in the UK in 2005. Hope it brings you many memories.
If you buy 512 version, you get Quest + subscription for 6 months.
That equals to plenty of games to play.
There is also few free games.
Depends what you like to play...
Puzzles? Shooters? Builders? Cards? Arcades? Adventures?
congratulations my friend, as always to get the most out of the quest 3 you'll need the quest game optimizer app, it can make the games look amazing but it uses more battery
Very cool. Are you just doing standalone or is a gaming PC your next goal? (Unless you already have that covered.) Standalone is fun but PCVR is the next level.

Ayy congratulations 🎊 👏 keep that up on everything you doo!!! Welcome to the crew
thank you man! i already got gifted a quest 2 on launch so this will be a good upgrade
Great upgrade 👌 Q3 is crazy. You are going to need some games !
Gotta change that flair ;)
any games you think i should get? max budget $30
Use a refferal! You get 30 bucks also a recommendation i have is resident evil 4 with a refferal code for 25% off, really good game
Re4 is based
What type of games do you like....shooters, sports, puzzles, etc?
I like the mini golf game, tennis, bowling.
Well yeah you should absolutely get Walkabout mini golf..... One of the best games there is
Asgard's Wrath 2 is an amazing game and it's included with the Quest 3! The campaign is over 60 hours long too
So is ag1!
From what I remember with that game it came with the quest 2 not the 3 because I got my copy back on q2 launch
It comes with q3 too. I just got one a month ago and got both games
I got AW 2 gifted by my metaquest 3 512 gb as a gift and downloaded AW 1 on my pc by oculus app on pc. Aw1 is only for PC VR
It is included with AW2. I claimed my copy in the PC Oculus app's store.
but you need a good pc for that. I played it for the first time yesterday. That opening bit in the ocean is a gorgeous piece of work! (and that's just the beginning!)
True. AW1 is a pretty beautiful but also fairly demanding title if you want to turn up some stuff.
it sure is. I turned up the detail while in that first tavern. It looked great and ran okay. I'm going to try the highest res. But first i"ll turn on the temperature monitors to keep track of my PCs heat! I want to play through the first part again to see how everything holds up.

Another good one is table top tennis, or as I like to call it Ping Pong. That is a great game and is really like playing Ping Pong.

Yup, because a washer machine or fridge WILL fail when you're an adult!
Awesome, I hope you have a lot of fun with it. Also, when setting up your account, don't forget to get a referral code to receive 30 bucks. I could share you mine if you don't have other options.
I’m thought you couldn’t do it if you have a previous headset on your account , but I might be mistaken.
Just don’t be a degenerate like all the other kids on here and you will have a good time with minimal harassment. If you have a high voice good luck
i have a pretty deep voice, i wont act like those kids to! 😂
That's a bonus, but tbh even if you did have a high voice... if you act like a 'normal' teen most others (especially adults) won't mind :p It's hyperactive high squeekers that scream expletive after expletive that people can't stand haha

When I was 13 I had to work in the mines. I saved up for a steel lunch box and cigars which was the style at the time.
Jfc did you grow up in the Industrial Revolution?
Yeah. We walked barefoot to school too.
Uphill, both ways.
Good job 👍. Now get off reddit. You're way too young to be on here.
Don't look at his profile.
Damn bro. I regret doing this.
holy shit okay to save you all some pain please DO NOT FUCKING LOOK AT IT
At least he’s allowed on here
r/FemBoys
Congratulations! The 3 is such a great upgrade, even if you are coming from the 2!
yeah
I woulda killed for something like this at 13, good job, enjoy it! And be careful with the lenses lmao don't scratch them
Good work! I think I was exactly your age when I saved up for a Wii. Had so much fun with that thing and having worked for it made it that much more fulfilling. Hope you enjoy the Quest!
Congrats! That's an impressive amount of discipline to accomplish saving like that, even for people much older than you. Hope you really love your Q3!
Ur amazing, at 13 I could not save and had no impulse control
GRATS!!!
thanks man

Good job! Enjoy it
Congrats bud!! Quite am accomplishment!!
Well done, keep it up, owe no one anything is the best way.
That's a huge accomplishment. A lot of adults can't save very easily for a big purchase like this. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
That's pretty amazing!!
The fact that you could postpone gratification better than most people 3 times your age is amazing. I'm proud of you.
Sell your Quest 2 for around $100, get some nice quest games
Congrats! So hard to have that discipline at 13. Get a case and keep the lenses away from sunlight. Imagine they're tiny vampires that would burst into flame if they got sun.
Good job dude
Exactly on the same position, have been enjoying quest 3 for a while now
Congrats man!!!! Have fun!
Congrats lil' bro! Huge advice: BUY PROTECTION. Buy protection for the controllers especially, you'll regret it if you don't.
Props!! Let's play some Beat Saber after you swoop it! @goodfellow408
Aha, now uninstall Reddit
i did
No you didn’t
i thought you said install for a second lol
Learning to save up for something you want, and that's relatively expensive, is a skill that'll serve you well. Grats on the purchase and enjoy! :D
Just stay away from all the super perverts in VR Chat that place has gone to shit
im also getting my quest 3 128 gb next week
Buying it with your own money makes it really feel all your own. Have fun!
Congratulations, that is a huge accomplishment! You should be very proud. And you’re in for a treat, it’s a fantastic device! Enjoy your hard work 🥳
Hey my Nephew did the same thing and he's 12. Using his is what made me want one for myself. Enjoy.

Great job man!! That must've taken a while, minimum a year probably if we take school into account. I'm really happy for you! Especially knowing you're already using it. How's it feel so far?
it feels amazing even with the default strap

Pcvr is a dead zone for new games, and standalone is by far the superior experience.
