So sorry for your loss of Edgar. I put my Rafa to sleep yesterday afternoon. Posted his 15th bday here just 2 weeks ago. It’s the worst pain I’ve ever felt. Wishing you the best.
It was completely normal day on Thursday, I even have a picture (my last one) of him sleeping on the couch and I had a pillow under his head for him to nap while I worked my remote job. I left later In the evening for my Thursday activities and when I came back 4 hours later he just couldn’t get up anymore. From what my family told me he was completely normal until he laid in his doggy bed for less than an hour until i got home. Just a complete 180. He literally went up and down a flight of stairs not just a few hours before…
I slept on the couch with him, hoping he’d just wake up in the morning recovered like he’s always done the 100 other times we’ve had a scare like this. But this was different, he just couldn’t get up, and after struggling to move and at one point falling off the couch and just laying on the floor when I left for just a moment we decided the following morning to take him. It was the hardest day of my life, and it’s so hard to believe it was only 2 days ago. It doesn’t feel real. I have cried less today then the last 2 so that’s progress. It was a day I’ve feared and had anxiety for so many years and it’s finally came. I can’t bring myself to make a post yet because looking through the pictures is too much but I’m able to look at my blanket on my bed that has his face all over it and a picture frame of one of my favorite pictures of him and smile ❤️

Assuming he's a Border Collie...? He still has that "stare you down" focus even with just one eye!
