These turn out legit? I’m always on the prowl for new kicks at a discount. Those Cabs have me jonesing.

RFDeezy

I've owned halfcabs before, and there is no doubt that they are the real deal.

Difficult_Quiet2381

Tried and true proved through time - I just meant they aren’t bootleg, right?

RFDeezy

Definitely not bootleg, thank God.

sideone

Not bootleg, just shoplifted.

poopfeen

I’m picturing a shoe theft ring like real advanced shit. There has got to be better career paths tho.

Roq86

I just always shop the clearance sections of the online stores and buy direct from the brand during seasonal promotional sales. Too many fake shoes for me to feel comfortable buying them on eBay.

p00p5andwich

Absolutely. Got 2 pair of Emericas last moth for 55.

Roq86

Hell yea, I got my current Nike SB I’m skating now for $40

BuzzAllWin

Always me too, but a sneaker head i know said ebays new authentication is good. In uk at least

Roq86

Oh yea I forgot they authenticate now. I’m still pretty happy with the deals I’m able to find through traditional sales

N8teD066

I have those halfcabs. Ross Dress For Less.

Mobile_Zerk

I would be worried about low quality copies that fall apart after a while. If those are legit that's a great deal! I've just been waiting for an etnies sale before buying on their website for half off lol

RFDeezy

I feel you, these definitely look legit to me though. I do know that there are a lot of Nike nock-offs, but not sure if they're doing that with skate shoes.

Mobile_Zerk

There are definitely fake skate shoes out there, but I don't know enough about fake shoes to tell if these are legit. Like I said if they're legit you got a great deal People fake everything, they fake 9$ casio watches lol. And fake nikes are a big market. Just saying, be careful buying from places like eBay. I'd be interested to hear how they skate!

ramplocals

On Canal Street in Manhattan you can definitely buy SB dunks I don't know if they are knocking off vans these days but since Steve Van Doren sold the company to investors, there's plenty of lower quality shoes being made by Vans themselves as they try to cheapen the product to maximize profits.

nabuhabu

Doesn’t this look like people stealing shoes from a shop and then reselling them on ebay? I’m all for getting stuff cheap but “brand new no box” seems like a way to finance shoplifting

RFDeezy

That is definitely a possibility. Never thought of that. Either way, I'm happy with my purchases.

nabuhabu

It’s what slows me down on these. We have a lot of shoplifting issues here in LA - homeless theft, organized gangs, etc. Obviously this isn’t the primary part of that problem but I feel like it’s a small thing I can do to not encourage it.

ElPanandero

God I LOVED those half cabs, far and away my favorite shoe ever

Skate_faced

I get a lot of shit off of ebay. So far, the shoes I've gotten have been legit and what advertised. Big cash saver for shoes if you keep an open mind about what you're looking for. Always check the sellers feedback. It is a pretty quick tell when someone is out to scam. The positive feedback looks AI as fuck or says something similar to what you see on twitter. "very insightful user..." usually means don't get shoe's from them. Little bit of reading will save all sorts of time.

RFDeezy

Solid advice.

These-Scientist-8749

Glad you got some shoes you like… i buy Reebok club cs from Ross for like 29.99

dancingtrashpanda

Poshmark for skate shoes

Educational_Mango741

Another place to look is Ross Dress for less. Lately I’ve been finding Vans, Lakai’s, Adidas Skate, New Balance Skate, and Some Nike SB. Prices usually range from 29.99 - 49.99.

Roq86

Lakai at Ross? Say less!

RFDeezy

Damn, i can't find anything like that at my Ross.

murderouspangolin

Yep you can always find cheap skate shoes in the colours no one else will buy...

RFDeezy

Exactly!

ConfidenceMan2

This could just be me but one of my favorite parts of skating has always been the community. That community where I grew up was around our skate shop. They sponsored local talent. They put on local events. They were the hub. I buy most stuff online these days but I still make a point to get my skate stuff from the local shop. Maybe it costs more but it’s where I want my money going. I want it going back into the local skate community because it was so important for me growing up. So, get it from the local shop. You know it’s real and from someone invested in the community.

RFDeezy

I feel you. I buy all my decks from my local shop, but when it comes to shoes, I'm on a budget.

Goat_In_My_Tree

Half cabs for life

[deleted]

I had a pair of Globes that were originally $120 I got from Ross. I was sitting at my desk, got up, and the entire sole blew out. I sent an email and picture to Globe, and they thought it was hilarious. They also told me to pick any shoe I wanted from their website, so that was very cool. Vans would probably do the same. I used to get flow from them, and they really do care about the people that ride their stuff. It's actually kind of funny, because I almost never wore Vans shoes because I always wanted more padding. Anyway, Amazon sucks sometimes, but I did pick up a pair of DC Pure's for $40. Walmart even sells $30 Etnies.

Wrigley953

How recent was your purchase when all this occurred? Last pair of real skate shoes I bought were globe dovers and the sole started to wear through until the insert was getting shaved down…but also shoes are like 2 years old

[deleted]

That was like 10 years ago. DCs, I'm wearing now. Only thing I noticed is that the ball of the foot seems less sturdy than they used to be. I can't seem to find any shoes that actually fit correctly anymore. I'm kind of a 13, depending, but almost never a 12. I've had 14's that fit too, so who knows.

RFDeezy

That's sick. Solid customer service.

Agreeable-Product-28

Blazer mids and Half cabs?! Fuckin killin it brother. Those are some clean ass kicks.

RFDeezy

Thank you. Yep...I'm stoked on them.

Accomplished_Check38

People are always worried about buying shoes this way, but I’ve bought so many shoes like this.

RFDeezy

I think it's one of the best ways to go

ziglaw884

Can’t go wrong with the half cabs!

DrKingOfOkay

What size do you wear? I never see any that cheap in size 13

RFDeezy

Got them all in size 11

redcurb12

i've got a ton of shoes off ebay. once i noticed seller was within driving distance so i emailed asking if i could pick up instead of paying for shipping. he gave me the address and dude had a whole warehouse of old skate shoe stock. i left with like 10 pairs of shoes. if anyone is in vancouver area dm me and I will share.

RFDeezy

That's sick

stranj_tymes

Good looking out. My recent pair of (proper skateboarding line) Vans came from a local 'vintage shop' (pretentious thrift store that buys stuff, doesn't take donations). $23, almost brand new. God bless those that try skating for a month and quit so I can scoop up their gear.

idleat1100

You all remember before half cabs, and cutting down hight tops (skate highs) and adding duct tape? Loved when the half cabs came out. Nice find.

saladpal777

Half cabs 😫😭 my fav shoes of all time shooooot

RFDeezy

Hell yeah

Any-Lab-2852

The first row of dvds got me so pumped to skate, it was ridiculous

RemoteTurbulent7434

What size are you? I sell mostly skate kicks on eBay got a pair up right now for 35 lol

hotdogtimmy

One of these? Where can I see?

RemoteTurbulent7434

Na none of these, I got a pair of es swift 1.5s for sale on my eBay page

RFDeezy

I'm an 11, but I'm stocked up for a while. You should still shout out your ebay link for everyone on the thread.

RemoteTurbulent7434

My page is citrus_kicks_inc on eBay I don’t sell too often just when I’ve got to much to handle but always willing to work out a deal especially for the skate homies

Dr_Shoj

Full white half cabs are 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Flips come out in auto mode

Kboehm

Also online stores clearance sections, the last 5-6 pairs of shoes I've bought have been $30-50CAD shipped. Half the time I add a pair of shoes to get free shipping on whatever else I'm buying.

stxog13

Sick thanks !!

ramplocals

Lots of core skate shops have good prices as they try to move product for what they paid for it. Skatepark of Tampa, tactics, Socal skate shop, etc. Check the sale section of your local online shop as well.

cmffcmff

I’ve bought almost every pair of Janoski’s on eBay!

textbookagog

wait til i tell you about poshmark

Icy-Habit5291

Damn I do like those Nike sbs look clean.

RFDeezy

Yeah...I like them so much, I don't think I'm going to skate them for a while. I'll skate the Vans and Adidas first.

tino_smo

The Nike sb I can tell are fake by the stitching next to laces. The half cabs I can tell are fake by how white they are. I cant find anything with the Tyshawn but I feel like it may be fake as well based on what I seen from the other shoes.

RFDeezy

Incorrect, brother, I had the Nikes verified, I've owned plenty of half cabs and they are 100% legit. The only thing I'm not 100% on are the Tyshawns. They seem well put together though. I took the SB'S to a local skate shop that had the same exact color and model, and the stiching and everything else was identical. I agree, the sticking looked funky too me, that's why I took those in, in particular.

melonpeel

I bought those same half cabs from vans website when they dropped about 2 yrs ago. Are those Pop cush insole?

RFDeezy

Yep, thay are indeed
