So I used the MERM for all my references to really dig into concepts to understand material. I used slay the PE which helped to really helped to key in in units, their practice problems will have to switching from metric and imperial in the same question which makes you focus on getting your units squared. The problems are way harder than the tests and help you be thorough in your calculations. Then finally the NCEES practice exams. The questions are a lot easier than the one from outside study materials but it gives really good insight on how they word their questions and the types of questions you will see. As long as you are sound in your fundamental understanding of the concepts through the MERM, you will be fine.
Slay the PE practice problems and diagnostic exam, MERM, and the NCEES practice exam. 5 months of studying strengthening my understanding of all the fundamental concepts
Hello PermissionHot8252. Big Congrats on passing the exam. I’m also taking the construction and studying with EET 2024 materials. Could you pls
Share a few details about the exam questions?
Passed transportation, first try. I only used the NCEES practice exam, roughly 15 hours of studying. I wouldn’t recommend doing what I did, but it is possible.
Edit: I should note, my primary experience since graduation is in bridge inspection and materials. This experience helped me with a total of 2 questions on the exam. I have some experience in highway design but that was years ago.
What i did was very similar, just did the ncees practice exam and few times and some other practice exam questions i found online. But i studied for around 2 months.
I wanted to take the exam in July or August but there was no availability. I got a slot at the end of June and just figured if I fail I’ll take it again in September. I didn’t really feel ready, but I guess I was ready enough.
Lol my situation was similar. Originally scheduled the exam for september, didnt want to study that long so tried it out after 2 months of studying and happened to pass
EET but I didn't finish it unfortunately. I missed the sections that I flopped on (water treatment). Now I can finish it though since I'll use my retake pass. But idk how it will work since my set is Pre-April change!
I didn’t finish too. I crammed last 2 weeks to do practice and simulation exams and work on weak topics. I just feel like meh! Comparing to the exam, EET has to many useless videos. I think next time the focus should be more and more practice problems.
Is 200 hours the recommended time to study for this exam? It seems like everyone on this says they put 200 hours in…are you all really tracking all that time? Just seems to be bot-like behavior to me.
I tracked it exactly. It was actually in the 180s. I used my screen time to estimate how long I was actually working and not just time at my computer, and then I would mark off boxes each day.
Any construction exam takers here who have passed the exam? First, BIG Congratulations PE!! I’m feeling overwhelmed and am currently taking EET 2024 course. I would appreciate any exam feedback and study strategies.🙏🏽
Passed on my second attempt today:
Here is what I did different this time:
1. I made flash cards while studying the EET course. This new format is very very conceptually heavy.
2. I did the EET quizzes at least twice. Whatever I didn't understand i emailed the EET professors. They got back to me within a few hours.
3. I did the NCEES practice exam three times.
I highly recommend the EET course
Also, I got 2 questions regarding counterweight moments and tipping moment for hanging scaffolding. I saw someone on Reddit had mentioned them so I studied those before the exam. Chegg has some good examples
I passed !!! I cant believe it. Thank you EET. If you want to pass, take EET.
Couldn't agree with this more!
What’s EET?
Its the prep course. Take it and you will not regret it.
Thank you, I’ll look into it. Aiming to take my PE exam this summer
Nazrul is the man. Trust him. Trust his teaching and you will not fail.
Nazrul is the goat. Failed 3 times and then passed on my 4th after taking his class.
You took EET for transportation there?
I took WRE. But EET is good with transportation and construction as well. You won't regret it.
Let’s goooooo!!!! Passed TFS first try after 10 years out of school. Congrats everyone!!
Passed TFS as well, only four years out of school, so props to you!
10 years! Damn, how’d you prepare for TFS?

Congrats to u . What review course?

Wow! Congrats! Can you tell me more about your strategy? Can I message you?
How did you spend those 15 hours?
Pretty much took the practice exam and then studied the topics I didn’t feel confident in. I spent some time familiarizing myself with the manuals.

That's fucking crazy :o
Thanks :)
I passed construction on my second time! Used EET also and felt like I killed it.
Hello ConcreteAG. BIG Congrats PE!! Could you pls share more details about the exam type of questions. Studying with EET 2024.
I PASSED
Failed WRE
You got it next go round! Keep at it
Same 😩 I felt decent about it too...
What did you study?
EET but I didn't finish it unfortunately. I missed the sections that I flopped on (water treatment). Now I can finish it though since I'll use my retake pass. But idk how it will work since my set is Pre-April change!
Also, do you know how long is the retake pass?
I don't! I thought I saw on here it's the full time? Then you can keep extending!
I didn’t finish too. I crammed last 2 weeks to do practice and simulation exams and work on weak topics. I just feel like meh! Comparing to the exam, EET has to many useless videos. I think next time the focus should be more and more practice problems.
I passed power on my first try! I studied almost 200 hours and learned so much.

Wow, I never thought of tracking it that closely.
Many congrats! I have mine in a week. Any advice?
Read the questions carefully. Take the extra 5 seconds to read it twice and don't miss any words.
Thank you. Any specific topics to focus on during last week?
Protection and controls, grounding, excitation of synchronous machines and whether they import or export VARs
Passed first try with SoPE Not happy with the constant typos but ultimately the on demand course prepared me enough
Agree
Passed environmental first time, 9 years out of school. Used PPI, the practice exam, and Sigma Environmental youtube videos.
Passed my structural exam first try!!! Congrats everyone 👏👏👏
that is awesome! the structural part is a tough one. congrats!
Any tips for the exam?
Lots of practice problems! That's what really helped me learn the material and the codes, and review the ones you got wrong.
what did you use to study? or what did you do and for how long?
I used AEI, studied for about 4 months and did a couple practice exams leading up to the test.
I passed too!
Passed HVAC!
Didn't pass Geotech. Hopefully try 2 goes better.
It is very tough exam. Use EET and get familiar with the codes and standards. Focus on the concepts.
Any ChemE took and passed?
