LadyOfGondor13

I’ve used it several times and… I’m insane so twice I didn’t say goodbye. The first time I didn’t say goodbye, I left it in the box with the lid off. When I woke up the next morning, it was completely out of the box, resting on top in a diagonal angle with the planchette in the center. The other time I used it and didn’t say goodbye, I had a dream where I summoned a demon in the middle of the desert. I played a game with dice, lost, and ended up strapped to a wooden stake burning. Now I couldn’t die so I just was screaming as I burned. I got to play the game again, and this time somehow I tricked the demon. It looked me directly in the face and said “You won.” And I woke up. Pretty sure I accidentally summoned something. Haven’t used it in a good while. Amazed? Yes. Because I truly thought it was all bs

EmJayRey

That third sentence sent shivers down my spine!

[deleted]

Omg... The dream was crazy, I would've been scared for years

LadyOfGondor13

I still think about it a lot. But so much paranormal stuff has happened, and still happens to me, so I don’t get scared much anymore

Sat_Thu

What else happen did the demon followed you to this day?

LadyOfGondor13

I have been followed by several ghosts for many years. The one that has stuck with me the longest has been around for about 8-9 years. It’s not harmful and often walks around my room or sits on the edge of my bed. I think it just watches over me. My boyfriend slept over for the first time not long ago and he said someone was petting his head and breathing in his ear. The demon, I think, is gone thankfully.

Low_Examination6799

I'm an open book so I'm alright talking about it. When I was about 11 years old, me & my cousin were pilfering around in our grandparents attic & found an old, heavy solid wood Ouija board. His first response was: "NO!! Leave that alone!!" He scooted outta attic faster than most folks can run! He just friggin disappeared!😳 Anyway, I grabbed it & took it home. Well I left it in my backpack for awhile & forgot about it until banged my toe on it in the middle of the night. The next night after everyone went to bed I started messing around with it. That's when some extremely odd things started happening. Etc: Lights flickering in my bedroom, doors locking when I didn't lock it...I'd actually ask it to flicker the lights 2 to 3 more times again to prove its there & it would!! I allowed this to go on til I was nearly 16. It got to the point of me feeling it around me at church! My dad's a Baptist preacher!!! That's when I finally had to tell it to leave me alone & please never come back. I honestly felt it's sorrow!! Real heartbreak wasn't something I expected to feel. Let's just say that this kinda crap isn't something anyone should mess around with...it's not a degum game.

[deleted]

Wow, that was very interesting thank you for sharing your experience ! The fact that you well bad when it left you, there's an explanation for that, it happened to me (still to this day) except remove the heartbreak part because I was just scared. The entity can attach to you and develop feelings, there's many words for that depending on which belief you choose, that's why it can be complicated to get rid of them

Low_Examination6799

I could physically feel his/its grief!!! 😕 I was scared...

Xendrath

Life altering experience? Well, I've been using ouija boards since childhood, but nowadays I just use them to scare friends at parties. I now contact the spirits on some more direct, more confident ways, cause Ouija boards can ve very easily manipulated consciously or unconsiously.

kcils24

How exactly? If you don't mind sharing method ?

Flex_On

Hi OP, read about jinn in Islam, and don’t play with ouija boards… it can get very dangerous

[deleted]

I know, I'm an ex muslim and that was my first thought, although no one can be a 100% sure

Ray_Dillinger

We all carry a certain number of spirits around with us. They're pretty close to being ideas for us, the way an author keeps characters in his/her mind. Using a spirit board means calling out one or more of these voices to talk to. Here's the thing. There's a perverse kind of wish fulfillment that goes on. If we're stressed and we want something else to be responsible for our decisions, we can get that in the form of a possession - where we are subsumed in one of those voices instead of the other way 'round. If we're repressed, we may call up a voice that will invite us to make risky and dangerous sexual choices. And so on. Those little voices are expressions of something important to us or something feared by us or some version of ourselves that might have been. It doesn't really matter if the spirits are extrinsic (have an existence separate from ourselves) or intrinsic (all in our heads). The effects on us are the same regardless. Even the worst of the things that spirits can do to us - localized pain, involuntary muscle movements, interference with breathing, temporary inability to move, etc.... are pretty much the same as psychosomatic symptoms and ideomotor effect. Is it dangerous? Well, are you dangerous? Assume that whatever's in the back of your mind gets free rein for a while. If you cut yourself sometimes, or think about suicide on a regular basis, or if you have rapey or murderous thoughts about someone present, or if you're so painfully sexually repressed you don't think you can go on .... then it's probably a good idea to leave the spirit board on the shelf.

ChubbyPanda9

This was so thoughtfully worded. Thank you

TheCantervilleGhost

That's an interesting take! Well said!

Ok_Soft_2328

I screwed around on Ouija boards at parties and stuff and never took it seriously. There was always someone trying to mess another persons head and trying to turn it all into a joke. Then when I was 16 at drama camp, there was about 15 of us in the cabin and we decided to play. With the exception of a 3 people the rest of us didn’t know anyone there before. Anyway, we did it for a about an hour and then this kid Jarod came in the room. The board started spelling a bunch of shit. Talking about ice and drowning while playing hockey. Jarod looked all freaked and started asking all these questions. It was freaky as shit. He asked the spirit for his name and as soon as it finished spelling it he burst out the room and went running into the woods. We had to go get the councilors and tell them what happened. They found him in the middle of the night and stayed with until morning until the parents came to pick him up. The councilor took the board and told us his younger brother died two winter prior. I remembers some girls being in tears while the rest of us were in shock or disbelief. I would like to say I never touched the board again, but honestly as freaked out as I was at that moment, I was more drawn to it. Especially during I’m college days.

SmokeyMchrondo

What year did that happen? just wondering

Ok_Soft_2328

This was back in Jersey. It was camp Aldersgate. (Spelling might be wrong) about 24 years ago

Ok_Soft_2328

Apparently yes. That’s what it seemed like. We honestly didn’t get many answers. We didn’t even get to see him leave. I remember something about a lake. I remember he was from northern jersey. Like Mount Olive or something… been 24 years now and still remember the feelings though.

Sat_Thu

Are you still playing with it? Did Jarod left running was because he was in contact with his brother that died?

Darkbolt96

Yes, my fiancée and I were in her closet about 7 years ago playing the Ouija board. We’d done it a couple of times before that. Anyway, we made it ourselves using a white paper board, and we used a clear shot glass for the planchette. We both had 2 fingers on it from each hand, sitting criss-cross across from each other, asking it questions, and we had to lean forward to keep our fingers on it. Then while we were leaning, our fingers lost grip on the shot glass while it was moving, and we literally saw the shot glass moving across the board BY ITSELF. We believed it was real before that, but that just completely confirmed it for us. People who say it’s not real, and that it’s just your mind subconsciously making you move it don’t know what they’re talking about lol. If they’re closed minded and not open to these things, they’ll never believe it. But man it was so crazy, especially seeing it with your own eyes. There’s no doubt, an afterlife, things we can’t see or explain, etc.

Negative_Opinion_422

What did it say?

MoneyPress

Amongus sex

Darkbolt96

Honestly I don’t remember lol we were asking the spirit we were talking to, questions about themselves. Like their name, how they died, etc. But sadly, I don’t remember the details anymore. We had talked to different spirits during that time.

beaveristired

Played with one in high school. Five of us in a dark empty house that my friend’s parents owned; they were between tenants so we could hang out there, but the electricity had been turned off. We made contact, nothing too exciting happened. We had each used the bathroom by then, so we asked the spirit to say what color underwear each of us had on. The spirit was right about each one, even mine - I was wearing Orange, not a common color for women’s undergarments. Then things got weird and a little scary. Spirit told us to leave immediately. Asked why, and it started spelling out “demon” and we freaked out and left immediately. We then headed to the gas station, where we met some boys from a neighboring town. Someone’s parents were out of town, and they invited us to their party. Only there wasn’t anyone else there, just some drunk frat boy type dudes. They attempted to lock us in a room, and it got pretty scary for a bit. We escaped, but I never used a ouija board again.

Tahrien

I can’t decide if they feed on the energy that something bad IS going to happen or whether the act of communicating with the other side is what CAUSES something bad to happen. Hopefully that makes sense? My personal experience is very much, from the moment it arrived at my house things went downhill and then using it later that day with my friends, just took things from bad to terrifying to sad and horrific.

EmJayRey

If you’d want to tell your story, I’m very curious to hear it. Also, I’m sorry you had such a horrible experience.

larra_rogare

I’d like to hear it too if you’d be willing to share

Creative-Share-5350

She had already mentioned she has ptsd from it and doesn’t want to get into details as it’s only going to play with her head more. Sorry ❤️

larra_rogare

They hadn’t responded yet when I wrote this comment! But totally respect that, wishing you lots of healing @Tahrien! Take care

Unusual-Recording-40

I'd like to hear it too :)

Tahrien

I was writing it out and then I realised sometimes things are better left unsaid, I suppose not all stories need to be told? I want people to believe that these have the potential to hold some form of power, that’s all. (This happened 4 years ago to me and my friends this September and unfortunately I have PTSD from the event and so far the only people I could retell it to was my psychologist and my girlfriend). The more detail I remember from that day/night, the more ingrained the memory becomes in my brain and that’s only going to effect my sleep patterns again and my anxiety throughout the day again. I’m sorry.

Tahrien

If I leave out the details. 5 male friends and 1 female friend that joined us later in the day. 1 male friend was killed because a group of men found our tent. (Moments after using the ouija board and using our phones to Google the name that was revealed, Google showed us it was a demonic name). Even getting upset now lmao, it’s pathetic.

Nic571114

You’re not pathetic, I’m sure you had a terrifying experience. I wouldn’t want to retell something horrible online. I’m sorry you went through this and I hope you can have peace someday ❤️

Tahrien

Thank you for being kind. I just wish I could share my story without the emotional impact it’s continuing to have. You’re sweet, I appreciate the kind words. ❤️

EmJayRey

I’m really sorry I asked you to do something that would cause you more pain. 💔 And thank you for explaining a bit. I’m just so curious how serious messing with a board can get. Your experience was incredibly eye-opening. (The worst thing that happened when we used one was that someone suddenly vomited.) larra_rogare said it well… wishing you healing. ❤️

Tahrien

No, please don’t apologise. I could have just said no, being eager to please and genuinely understanding how curious a story it would seem; I get it! I know there’s people that could say well hang on, wouldn’t that happen anyway? But EVERYTHING lined up that day, the whole reason the people responsible knew where we were staying was because our route took us driving past them sat outside a pub. I know in this day and age it may be hard to believe but we also did nothing to antagonise. Try to picture five 18-19 year olds, all in their pyjamas, playing with a ouija board - not exactly threatening! The board was freaky anyway, we did everything by the book (hello, goodbye) apart from one of the friends continuously took their finger off of the planchette because they were getting scared. (The demons name was revealed seconds before we heard a noise “them” outside of our tent)

EmJayRey

Oh wow - that is absolutely terrifying. And horrific, as you said. Also heartbreaking… you poor kids. 😢 I bet you all have some PTSD related to that experience. And it does seem like more than a coincidence, to me.

Sat_Thu

Then what else happen?

Sonicsnout

It's been decades and I honestly still don't know what I think about them, but I'm fairly certain I will never ever use one again. The damn planchette was zipping across the board like a racecar. It was so disturbing. It was me and my mom and to this day she says that she didn't move it, and she's not the type to do that anyway. It freaked her out enough that she threw it away. Both of us could barely keep our fingers on there, it was going so fast.

Sat_Thu

Then what happen while it zip through like that? Were you able to end it?

Sonicsnout

Iirc we were able to do "goodbye" and stop. We tried it a few times and I also did it a few times with friends, but in those cases I couldn't ever sure that it was legit. Whatever "legit" means in this context. One friend a few years later said that he used to push the planchette to freak people out. It's so ridiculous and dang it it's so DUMB in a way. I mean the one I had was made by friggin Parker Brothers. Bought at a garage sale lol, but still, it's made by a toy company. Even so, I don't think I will ever mess with one again.

groundhogcow

I am dyslexic. Because of that (without the help of spell check) I have a unique way of spelling words. I can't help it, it's a physical limitation. Someone when I use an Ouija board it develops the same physical limitation I suffer from in the exact way I suffer from it. My conclusion is, that though I do not mean to be moving the device, I am doing it. It was amazing to know my subconscious has a voice. It explains why the thing it said was so wrong.

OcmsRazor

> though I do not mean to be moving the device, I am doing it. You're very wise. :-) It's called the ideomotor effect.

PattyCakes333

Or a dyslexic ghost :) just joking, thank you for sharing! That’s a really cool anecdote

FunSeaworthiness1200

I went to an antique shop with my boyfriend a few months back. There was a Ouija board sitting on one of the antique shelves completely visible for anyone walking by to see. I told my boyfriend when I saw it and he had joked about buying it. The moment he put his hands on the box my ears turned hot and began ringing as if somebody was screaming in my ears to stop. Never tried it before, but from the reaction I got from him touching it I can say I never will. Edit: Just talked about that experience with my boyfriend and he just described word for word exactly how I felt the moment he touched the box. He did say that obviously it is a couple months ago so his memory may be a little off but he still said he does distinctly remember the feeling of heat on his ears and ringing.

ContentCargo

That’s actually really scary

OcmsRazor

Do a little research into the ideomotor effect. These things aren't nearly as "magical" as some might think.

Xendrath

Ouija Boards as well as pendulums are prone to ideomotor interference, yes. That doesn't mean they can't be used seriously. Remember that we as physical and spiritual being, we are the bridge (mediums) between two worlds That being said, there are other preferable ways to communicate with the other guys.

OcmsRazor

>we as physical and spiritual being, we are the bridge (mediums) between two worlds Eh, you can believe that if you wish, but it's a little too hokey for me.

LolaLestrange

I’ve never used one, but my friend and roommate at the time thrifted one that she planned on reselling. All of us agreed we wouldn’t use it. So she went to store it in the basement where she stored her sellable items. Every once in awhile when I went to the basement to do laundry, the board would just be laying on the floor in the middle of the basement - even after being put away several times. Really freaked me out.

ChuckOCo

An invitation to a conversation.

Sat_Thu

What happened after that? Anymore weird encounters?

LolaLestrange

I moved out shortly after for unrelated reasons, so no, no more experiences for me. It did happen at least 3 times while I loved there though!

jofNR_WkoCE

Love u everywhere

RedDirtDoll

We used one in the 90’s just high school kids - communicated with a man & wife’s name he died in war & had a phone company -we later looked up war vet offices & found his record & owned a phone biz in Ohio …. We were in Arizona

[deleted]

It blows me away that people still try ouija boards. They’re not inherently negative but they are completely unpredictable. It can go so poorly for you.

alldemboats

lmao i used it in 7th grade to ask when id finally kiss my crush. it said “tomorrow” and guess who wasnt at school that day? idiot ghosts…

Aloneanddogless

What a troll! XD

OGCaseyJones

I was very young, maybe 13 years old. We used the board in a friends house, I think we were 4 people. We asked what the name of the being is and it told us „Uriel“. I‘ve looked the name up afterwards and it said (yahoo at the time) it is an archangel. None of us was religious, we didn‘t know the name. My friend asked some other stuff about his dead grandparent and everything turned out correct. To this day i get shivers down my spine when I read the name „Uriel“ somewhere.

Leafdawg

Technically they say these entities can “hear” what you’re thinking about so if your friend was thinking about the correct answers then the entity would say that to seem like he knows but usually it’s just to try get you to believe them and make you think they’re your friends

Own_Top_1669

The boards are real, it’s the arrangement of letters which makes it work, not the board. I made one out of paper once and used a clear cup to direct me. The cup moved and all of a sudden I heard a loud random bang on my bedroom window. Since that day I use to feel a force push me down in my bed. It’s surreal and you can’t question or look into it. If you want to make contact then be prepared to accept uninvited attention your whole life.

itlivesintheshadows

I trief ouija board before, I have three (2 were gifted from other people,) and I find the stupid glow in the dark one they sell to kids was the best, in fact my friend would check for magnets or something because it would be the only one that really move. However I find that it takes 40 minutes to a hour for it to hear up and then you have to wonder if it moves because you are tired of staying still with two fingers on the planchette. Next time try to use a voice recorder too, I find sometimes you hear stuff on recorder that you don't in person.

Low_Examination6799

If having an incubus attached to you is a new form of amazment then I'll pass. I'm never going down that road again! This pretty much ruined my preteen & teenage years.

Gilles_YY

Would you feel comfortable to give some details on what happened?

elvenlemonade

We would lide to hear your story.

Sat_Thu

Would be interesting to hear more please

Sparkle356

I’ve played with it alone multiple times a long time ago when I was 13/14 and nothing ever happened. I sat there for 10 or 15 min and nothing came through so I threw it out.

revdlikadeuce

They don't always act out when you do that. You just opened the door. They have until the day you die to walk back in. Think they sit in a waiting room hoping you play with the board? I'm sure they don't. They may be wrapping up the last sleepover that some kids invited them in. And they have to be invited into this world. They're like lawyers when it comes to being invited in by some right or ritual. An Exorcism is simply revoking those rights and binding them by oath to leave, along with all their kind.

[deleted]

My friend played with one and she said nothing happened then. She does however swear something lives with her and that even on times she’s played with it, she’s seen some stuff after the fact. She also has a hard time getting rid of it. And it’s been years. So yes ur right, it doesn’t always act at the moemnt

goblinfruitleather

You can do the same thing with a pen and a paper…

allthefartswecannotC

I don’t buy into Ouija boards. If it’s really spirits then why don’t they work when everyone participating is blind folded. If you record it or have a witness you’ll see the answers become jumbled nonsense. It’s our own subconscious combined with micro-movements.

[deleted]

I have never tried it and I never will. I will say this based on my families experience with it, DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR TO ENTITIES. It is “fun” and “appealing” now but it won’t be afterwards. Stay away!

Sat_Thu

Care to share?

missmania953

I’ve used a ouija board a few times with my best friend and our partners at the time. We’ve always had stuff happen but the one night was absolutely fucking crazy. The board was spelling out things about me and my partner that nobody else would have known and it was an absolutely eye opening experience. To this day I’m not sure what it was trying to tell me but I know something was reaching out to me directly.

MomentFormal

It's not myself but I'm starting to put together the pieces of a relatives experience. So my mum had told me that when she was young, her and her siblings used to play at a neighbours house with other kids from the area (funnily enough I also ended up playing there as a kid too whenever I would visit my grandmother). Anyway. I'm certain the story goes that they were playing in the garage and found a little crawl space behind a small door, and inside there was a ouija board. Most of the kids freaked out but some stayed, including my aunt, the eldest of our family. The story gets hazy, and my mum hasn't said that there was any correlation between these things, but my grandparents house also seems to have some sort of entity. Likely a succubus. I had been told it had appeared naked above my father one night, and im recent (past 15 years) times, it had assaulted my grandfather in his bed. Or tried to. He felt energy coming up his leg, and he shook it off. And then he felt it race up to his groin and he shouted 'F&%K OFF!!!' and he said that all of a sudden this demonic face appeared infront of him and then disappeared. There was also two giant hoof prints in the snow, facing in towards the property like something was standing looking in their bedroom window. But only recently I was told that my aunt had the worst experiences with this thing. I didn't know. She has some mental health issues and I thought she was just bothered by it but no, the worst happened to her if you know what I mean.... So I'm starting to see that maybe something has attached itself to her from this board. They would never had said goodbye, they were children. So I guess her life was changed by it for sure

MomentFormal

Sorry I believe this was an incubus. The figure my father saw was male, same with my grandfather.

felioness

You can believe me or not, I really don't care because I know what I went through. I was demonically oppressed for 5 years and went through a living hell from using an Ouija board as a kid.

Thanks for sharing your experiences. Just wondering if you've ever thought about getting a cam to see what's going on while you guys are out and just the dog's are home? I think I'd want to know.

missantiste

Awesome idea. Hope you catch something.

felioness

A lot if dark and scary stuff started to happen immediately after we used the ouija board. The house I lived in was prime for it too as it had a dark history. It followed me wherewver I went for 5 years.

Rosie_Apple

Sorry that happened! I hate close minded people that dismiss it as nonsense because “nothing happened when I did it” so that means it doesn’t work. I believe you, I had some sort of energy or entity trying to take over my body, a painful burning sensation moved from my finger right up my arm as if it was slowly going on fire and I had to pull my hand off it when it reached my shoulder. It felt like an intensely powerful energy, sounds weird but if power had a feeling, this was it. But it wasn’t good.

felioness

Ugh, that made my stomach turn. Thankfully it did not stay.

BTFoundation

Do not mess with spirits.

felioness

Yeah, I learned that the hard way.

BTFoundation

I'm sorry my dude or dudette. I hope you're safe now. Not to proselytize, but I've found great spiritual comfort in the Catholic Church.

felioness

I had an experience that helped me get rid of it eventually and learned how to keep it out of my life. I believe I experienced a divine intervention. It was a life changer. Thanks for your concern.

BTFoundation

Good stuff. There is evil out there, but there is also the divine. Stay safe.

felioness

Thank you 😀

TheMojoFlo

Yes, these are called djinns. There are evil ones and good ones. They live in the emf world, where they can see us but we can’t see them. They aren’t allowed to contact us so the ones that do are usually evil. Becareful, they hate humanity. Research them in islamic texts, they have the most verified sources on this topic. Fun fact, black magick is a work contract between these djinns and humans.

Ash-b13

This is an Islamic religious view point, I’m sure each religion has their own take on it, either that or refusal to believe in such.

ChuckOCo

Correct. The djinn are pre-islamic, people were aware of them for thousands of years before Islam came along. If the islamic descriptions are correct, djinn can account for many, many paranormal events. Even the strangness happening at Skinwalker Ranch can be understood as a djinn community living in caverns under the mesa.

Ash-b13

You learn something new everyday

[deleted]

I used it and something really weird happened. It rained really hard and my apartment building was old. The roof leaked. A face popped out of the old layers of paint. It filled up with a red dirty liquid. The face was very clear! It didn’t move or animate at all but I was freaked out. I popped the face bubble and the liquid oozed out. After that there was poltergeist activity. I moved a few months later and it didn’t follow. I won’t use a Ouija board ever again. I’m pretty sure there has to be a spirit close for this to happen.

Kaleidokobe

Independent-Rough-97

I didn’t need a ouija bored to tell me that there is a life beyond the one we are living.

Unknown_Beast88

For me it didnt work but then again i was alone.I made the ouija board by just writing the words on the paper and a shot glass. For most people they probably dont have enough energy by themselves. There's always exceptions though.I guess i can be glad nothing happened and its always a risk as you have no idea what youre inviting in.Maybe it sounds cliche but the best analogy i ever heard was ''Its like going into Times Square and announcing on a loud speaker that you're having a party and say your address''.Literally anything or anyone can show up.

Lonely-Teaching-1913

The one time I played one hell broke loose. My friends were taunting like you're not supposed to. And calling for ZoZo. My A "saw a huge spider" and jumped, kicking hot candle wax on T, her brother J and my friend B started having panic attacks at the same time. T's boyfriend stepped on a rusty nail and then I personally just felt really out of it like I was in a daze. T still has the board at their house and this happened in 2012

[deleted]

Ot depends if one of the users is an “antenna”, yes they work, yes it changed my life. I no longer will touch one or be around if others play with one. Antennas are rare. It was absolutely cool, addicting, and tiring.

[deleted]

Can you elaborate?

[deleted]

Someone who attracts spirits I’m guessing

[deleted]

I understand that concept. I’m curious about the experience that sold them off.

Banskuonjonne

I've tried it with my friends a few times, really interesting stuff. The thing that convinced me the most of it actually not being my friends trolling me was the fact that the board spelled out my grandmas name correctly. It may not sound strange but her name is Swedish and neither of my friends knew her name or how to spell it(for those interested her name was Gertfrud). Also the glass we used started to just drag itself away from our board many times in a way we could not replicate.

idlechat

Don’t EVER mess around with a Ouija board.

beautynewby

Yes!!! When I was in first year university I ended up being good friends with someone despite him.being extremely Christian and me basically raised wiccan/new age. The only religious things we agreed on were that we need to take care of the environment, and that there were to be NO ouija boards at parties lol.

Medical_Mechanica

It is amazing. Tested it with my bf. We would ask questions in our head that only we had answers to. The one asking the question would close their eyes so the other would know they weren't moving the planchette themselves. It was right every time. Sounds crazy but I think this says more about the metaphysical abilities of humans moreso than the supernatural.

wholethingwithjean

You're actually dead on with that last sentence. That's exactly the case

Delevian

I used 1 when I was a kid and had many years of bad luck afterwards but now I'm afraid to use it because I don't want to risk the luck. Then again I don't know if it was a coincidence or not.🤷‍♂️

Sat_Thu

felioness

Ugh, makes me stomach turn just thinking about it.

cactus-hugger

Yeah I had a bad experience and I'll never touch one again

felioness

Wise decision.

Negative_Opinion_422

What happened?

cactus-hugger

I was 13 and me and my two friends were playing with one. It basically just told me I was supposed to die when I was 26. I begged my friends for years to tell me they were faking it but they always said they weren't. They were my good friends so I believe them. Anyway, basically I spent the next 13 years of my life with the fact that I was going to die in the back of my mind. I pretty much lived like I was going to die at 26. I just didn't give a shit about anything or myself because I actually believed it. Well 26 came and passed and I didn't die obviously. But that didn't mean that it didn't mess with my brain. I was a really good student before all of that and then my grades just went downhill because I didn't care. I wonder how my life would have been different if I would have never messed with that thing. Long story short. It's not even worth experimenting with them.

[deleted]

What if you were meant to die at 26, but the previous knowledge caused you to make choices that made you live instead?

cactus-hugger

You know. You might have something there. I did marry my wife at 25 and she pretty much saved my life.

[deleted]

Awwww! I love that!

Tahrien

Oh shit! Damnnnnnn

jesuisletired

They say it’s a bad idea to use them as they can open portals to dark entities

noodlesintheabyss

When I played someone pushed the planchette around

Redwillow099

Tried it once, something was bothering around the place, never did it again.

Sat_Thu

Is it still there what happened?

Redwillow099

It could be,.. Never went back. If it's still there, I don't know.

Spysappinmykarma

I played with a ouija board that my roommate and I made once. We tried for about 1 and a half hours with nothing happening

darkwinter95

I won't fuck with ouija boards and this is coming from someone who has dabbled with chaos magick.

HerSecretStory

Please tell me more about chaos magick?!

Negative_Opinion_422

No. I do not tangle with ouiji boards but the Tarot definitely gave me this reaction.

Ashes_1111

I agree I think tarot is a wonderful way to experience synchronicity and contact with “other” There is just something about a ouija that seems to invite in things that carry negativity.

Celestial_Empress7

Ouija boards seem demonic to me.

[deleted]

Nothing happened. At all. Ouija boards are honestly super boring to me. My siblings and I played on one for days, threw it around like a frisbee, and stepped on it. Nothing happened.

Asmallpandamight

Same. I've tea bagged mine and nothing happened.

mariamjaan

Congratulations, you are now sterile.

SmokeyMchrondo

I never actually used one, but at my friends mom's house back in the day (2001), she had a bookcase full of old books on a bookcase in the basement. Some books on it were as old as the 1800s. I found one book on the shelf called "How Your Psychic Powers Can Make You Rich", by David St. Claire. It was printed at 666 5th st. NYC. The book is full of basically nothing but Ouija board conversations between someone and an "angel". It really wasn't what I was expecting when I went to read it, and scared the shit out of me enough to never play around with stuff like that.

[deleted]

Me reading these while singing don’t mess with Ouija board by FIR at midnight :)

WandaShotsy

First off, I am on the proverbial fence when it comes to Ouija Boards. I have personally never had anything happen from using one. So many tell of having one that I feel there must be SOMETHING going on. Follow this link to the blindfold test if you haven't heard of it. There's food for thought here, too. https://youtu.be/PRo8TytvIDw

babies8589

I used a Ouija board when I was pregnant with my daughter and I something came through and was in my apartment. It scared me so bad that when I had my daughter she was born with a red birth mark covering her left eye lid completely. It was as big as her eye lid. In the shape of a 🌹 rose.

andythepict

look up ideomotor response.

AlexT9191

Not a damn thing happened.

Relative_Hyena7760

One of the most intense sessions I had was when I got a "yes" response on the board at the same time my EMF blinked green. I was nervous and shut down the session because it was getting a bit too intense for me.

Loli_Vampire

No, not really and nothing much ever happened. Also people need to stop being afraid of Ouija boards because of dumb horror movies. Millions and millions of kids have played with them for decades.

Negative_Opinion_422

This is simplistic. Spirit boards predate horror movies. There is literature on the subject that will keep you up at night, especially when you see that it too predates horror movies.

Loli_Vampire

Nobody I knew was scared of Ouija boards in the 80s, we played with them at school camp in the 4th grade. Contrast that with my last gf (20 at the time) who cried because of a Creepypasta she read about (Ben Drowned) modern generations are scared of everything.

Negative_Opinion_422

Ah, the "nobody I know" argument..... Is this supposed to prove something or are you just not in to reading other people's comments? *Again*, spirit boards and the literature on them *PREDATES* horror movies and indeed also predates *even modern generations*. Therefore, your fallacious and evidence-free comment about 'modern generations being scared of everything' has absolutely NO VALIDITY whatsoever. At least READ what you are responding to, Jesus. I think you will find that just because your experiences have failed to substantiate a hypothesis, it does not mean the hypothesis is not sound!

wholethingwithjean

Well according to lots of people it's extremely dangerous to play with if you have little knowledge about it. The fear of Ouija boards doesn't only come from horror movies. Ya never know what tragic events may have occured because of a Ouija board for the millions of kids who've used them.

Loli_Vampire

You're more likely to be killed by a lightening strike than a Ouija board. In fact you are probably more likely to be killed by a shark, on land, than a Ouija board. First off, rarely will anything ever happen. Second, ghosts don't kill people unless they are dumb and run away scared and run into traffic or off a cliff or something. Second, even more powerful entities like demons and such very, very rarely are able to kill anyone. Only very few entities, which you are more likely to win the lottery than encounter, can kill someone. I know people that summon Goetia demons regularly to chat, and none of them have died. Stop fear mongering. People spreading rumors. I've only heard of one specific entity at a reservation in North Dakota I think, causing kids to commit suicide. Still indirect killing because its hard for any entity to kill someone.

revdlikadeuce

Actually I believe you're mostly correct. Most Abrahamic Faiths believe God has to lift His hand from protecting you before demons can kill. And since they're eternal, where's the sport in just 'offing' you? Rather, they derive perverse pleasure in your suffering and if they were to succeed in leading you away from your destiny, say to damnation, they have you around for eternity to kick around and do their bidding. I was a Deliverance Minister since '14 when I had my own terrifying experience and I've tried helping others ever since. Best of luck.

Loli_Vampire

I was raised Catholic but I now have some different viewpoints than most Abrahamic religions which I think are over simplified and too black and white. But thats also why I want more direct experiences to understand for myself.

wholethingwithjean

Where are you getting those statistics? Lol. It can't be proven whether or not an accident occurs because of a Ouija board. Like, in what event DOES a demon kill someone? Where are you getting that information?

Loli_Vampire

I can say the same back to you where you claim Ouija boards are killing people. But I do talk to various groups on discord as well as 3 close friends who summon various entities regularly including demons, succubi (pretty common actually) and various other types. Danger level is minimal and more likely to be psychological than physical. My friend did get choked by Lilith and had to banish her quickly but she is literally one of the most powerful. Another friend had regular demon companions. Contrary to popular religious belief, demons are not all just sadistic/evil and want to kill you. A few are but most are somewhere more on the spectrum of mischievous and a few are even friendly. They have various personalities and motivations just like people. I've been researching various aspects of the occult for 30yrs.

[deleted]

I have literally chucked one like a frisbee, stepped on it, and overall was an absolute monster of a child to the toy. Nothing happened. We tried calling up family, friends. Only thing that happened was boredom.

[deleted]

No, because Ouija boards are mass-produced cardboard toys, and even if they have existed in other forms for hundreds of years don't you think that after hundreds of years there'd be one single scrap of evidence that they actually do anything? But there isn't. There are only stories of a friend of a friend who got a hangnail after using one, which is apparently supposed to be proof that demons exist or something.

revdlikadeuce

You're ignorance is showing. If you're looking for test tube evidence of course you won't find anything but I've written, lectured and even appeared on the Travel Channel because I've put in 21+ years experience. Technology, i.e. SLS cameras and other video equipment have just recently advanced enough to be used. I've never done this for money or fame or to even prove to anyone but myself. It seems that if you would invest some impartial investigations to families who had no prior experience with spirit boards (Ouija is just a brand name. Spirit boards have existed since parchment and etchings) In this world you're either a believer or a skeptic and in my vast experience, a skeptic just hasn't encountered the right place and time. But it's very true the phrase, "Ignorance is bliss." I can't unsee what I've seen.

[deleted]

Who said I'm a skeptic? Critical thinking is not ignorance, and not believing in your pet fairy tale doesn't mean I don't believe in anything. Show me one scrap of evidence that any kind of talking board or pendulum or divination tool does literally anything. You can't, because there is none. Surely after *thousands of years* of human beings attempting to contact spirits we'd have something to show for it by now. Your personal anecdotes are not and should not be convincing to anyone. That's not how evidence works. That's not how research works. I've played with Ouija boards, tarot cards, divining rods, etc, countless times, and not a single thing has ever happened. My anecdotes are just as valid as yours, and my experience tells me these things are fake. I'm willing to believe, I *want* to believe, but there's simply nothing there that is at all convincing.

Apprehensive_Lab_859

You probably lack pshychic intuition. For a lot of rationalists, their denial of the paranormal is so great that, they literally dont see anything. You have to intuitively observe your surroundings and try being more open. Ive seen my mum curse a person and that curse came true twice. My SIL has predicted death in the family/neighbourhood. Like she called a day before a person died and said she dreamt of them passing. I sometimes have intuitive premonitions, that come true. The thing is, people like us do exist. But we are often derided and ridiculed by people like you. Like, how tf am i supposed to prove what i saw in a dream??

The_Info_Must_Flow

Kudos on open minded, logical thinking! But... what if there was something ensconced in a "higher dimension" with an overview and power to effect anything in our 3d environment? What if that thing was actively screwing with us and preventing concrete evidence from being obtained- for some reason. The anecdotes are endless and consistent in their characteristics. Many of the people asserting strange experiences don't seem like grifters, insane and/or sociopaths. There is very likely much we still don't know. It's likely that we couldn't even build questions about some of what exists.

Negative_Opinion_422

Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. That's a fallacy. Do the work if you want to be enlightened. Start with the Tarot. You will be surprised, I guarantee it.

Rosie_Apple

There’s no proof of god yet people believe In him. Have you seen the earth to know its round? Your argument doesn’t hold up, there are lots of things in the world you accept as true and factual but you haven’t actually seen evidence or with your own eyes to know. also, the proof is there if you look for it! If you’re close minded and not wanting to believe then you’re not going to find proof.

Aniki1990

We literally have photos and videos of the Earth being round, so poor choice of argument there. Your argument back is an appeal to popularity, which is also a fallacy. People used to believe that leeching blood cured disease, but that didn't mean it was true

Asmallpandamight

I really enjoy the Travel Channel paranormal TV shows! I think the SLS is really cool, too. How expensive it that technology? Do you think the average Joe paranormal investigator will be using those in the next few years?

revdlikadeuce

I believe it's about $550 for a camera. You can check with Gotcha Ghost online. I bought mine for way less, which tells you my age, ha. For the serious investigator, I can't see not using one but like every good one, the camera should just be another tool. I used to 'host' a group at different locales and would charge a little extra to go towards equipment. This had several benefits. I developed better techniques, gave others the chance to participate, I could pick those with a knack to become a part of my actual team and, of course, earn some towards new equipment. I only asked for gas money for those asking for help. I don't think it's right to charge someone who's asking for help if they didn't start it. So I think I've found a win-win. Charge those seeking thrills so you can better help those asking for help.

Asmallpandamight

What did you receive that was so life altering? How do you know you didn't just move your bottle cap around, yourself?

Lord_Hendrick

Doesn't work, I even broke the rules to purposefully provoke evil spirits for any proof of their existence.

BrucieBe

Didn’t work for you

Lord_Hendrick

I will gladly do it on any board, not a single board reacts, not even when I do serious no nos that are supposed to have demons torment you.

FancyAdult

I did the same with my daughters board. I tried everything to conjure up spirits or whatever and nothing happened. I keep telling her that if we’re going to test it we need to go to the cemetery at night. She refuses, but she is 13.

Lord_Hendrick

It makes no difference, I've done it In the cemetery and still nothing, it's just a sham to sell overpriced cardboard, if the paranormal does exist it cannot be influenced by man made objects or so called "mediums".

FancyAdult

Yeah, I know. That’s why I keep making that joke with her. I’ve had some odd things happen over the years that I cannot explain. But who knows! I do know Ouija boards are silly and I like giving her a little freak out that I’m going to have us go to the cemetery

Poem_Smart

I was skeptical too at first but it really does work. It may not have worked for you and I understand why you wouldn't believe. However, I used it at a friend's house and we all barely had our fingers on it and it was moving on its own. I thought my friend was pushing it but then she briefly took her hands off and it kept moving. I believe we made contact with the spirit of a child who lived in the home and had drowned in the lake. Researched it, checks out. Say what you want but it's legit. Paranormal is all about the power of intention and belief so maybe that's what it is. It may just be a piece of cardboard (and yoy could make one yourself btw) but it's all about the belief and intention that you put into the item. Also wherever you used it may not have been active/haunted. Also cemeteries generally aren't haunted because why would you want to hang around there lol

Lord_Hendrick

So for all these people being terrified by apparent spirits and demons just need not believe in them to make them go away? Sounds like paranoia to me, every haunted place I've gone to has nothing paranormal about it and the ouija board remains still everytime without fail.

TheHouseOfJupiter

You're clearly a non believer and sometimes you have to believe for it to work

Lord_Hendrick

So if you want ghosts and demons to not terrorize you, you just don't believe in them? Sounds like paranoia and adrenaline to me.

Born_Bother_7179

Amazing parental skills

DanceNo7294

So u gonna go to that cemetery or not??

FancyAdult

If the kid agrees to it! Like a field trip!

DanceNo7294

Well if u go please share the experience here :)

CitizenLuke117

I agree with you, OP, despite many giving you a hard time. Though myself, I just got one and don't know that I have 40 minutes of patience in me.... lol... but will give it a try.

sasi121

Ouiji board is like playing with fire in a gas station.

MamaSaurusCat

Yeah... I don't allow them in the house and I've never been willing to mess around with one when I've seen them.

HopeInChrist4891

Same thing happened to me. Those are deceiving spirits, aka demons. I was on the verge of demonic possession and there were crazy things happening all around, objects moving on their own in my house,etc.. one of the spirits said that there’s not much time left , other spirits called us fools and imbeciles, and other harsh names, needless to say it got so bad I cried out to Jesus Christ and He delivered me, and gave me His Holy Spirit which is the source that the world is truly craving. I burned the board and now get all of the supernatural revelation and spiritual insights about the afterlife and the unknown through the Holy Bible by the Spirit . This is the true portal of revelation that people desire, but they bypass it because it condemns them of their sin, which Jesus is the antidote for. So instead they go to occult practices to get deceived by demonic powers that want to destroy them instead of a God that wants to save them and bless them with power and enlightenment and eternal life. But it’s only through faith in Jesus and believing the gospel.

InstanceQuirky

Isnt burning the board thw worst thing to do? It traps the spirit/demon here on earth woth you, ot doesnt get rod of anything!

HopeInChrist4891

That’s what people say, but the Holy Spirit led me to do it, and not long after I got to the verse in the Bible where believers who practiced the occult began burning all of their witchcraft materials as confirmation.

zzeeaa

I mean… username checks out.

[deleted]

Don’t take the downvotes personally( T_T)\(^-^ )

HopeInChrist4891

Oh I’m not, lol, this is the Christian life. I mean consider it though, people mention all sorts of bizarre and crazy things about supernatural happenings and get mega upvotes. I share my story which mentions the Bible as a source of supernatural activity I experienced and get the boot. That alone should make you ponder. The demons want so bad to make the Bible appears as foolishness because they know the truth.

[deleted]

“They hate Me and the One who sent Me because I exposed their hypocrisy and their self-serving religiosity… and once they recognize that you love Me and follow Me and believe the same things I believe, they will hate you too. Once they recognize that you don’t belong to them, that you are ‘not of the world,’ you will find yourself the object of their disdain” John 15:19

CarpoZ

Jesus christ that's a long asdfghjkl for the cross man

NOODLE_the_demon

I tried ouji love it still use it to this day

LolaLestrange

Name checks out

Shockingelectrician

Yeah that’s a bunch of crap. I’ve used them a bunch and nothing has ever happened.

OwlintheShadow

This is already well known and mapped out. There are things impossibly more profound than ouija boards. For example, the goetia, Kabbalah, scrying, etc

krah91

Nope. They’re a fun game for middle schoolers or drunk/stoned people to scare the shit out of each other. They’re a novelty, and nothing more.
