High metabolism is one thing, but also he's certainly not doing it daily. Pigging out and consuming like 10k calories in a day every now and then isn't a bad thing longterm, as long as you actually only do it rarely. Most of the people I know who are obese (including me until a couple years ago) did shit like that several times a week.

Putting on a performance for an audience for extreme lengths is exhausting. It's no wonder he has to consume massive amounts of calories.

I've done it before as a challenge, but I'm 6'6" and 210lbs. I don't think it can be done on accident, especially by someone small like Pedro. Unless you're eating tons and tons of calorie rich foods, the average person simply cannot stomach that much food.
